general problems of the 2015 Kia Motor Soul - part 2

I took my car to a kia dealership after the engine recall in 2020, and again this year. In 2020, they told me there wasn't anything they could do without the code. It seems very much like kia are manipulating these recall rules. My car is making the rod noises and squealing noises related to this recall. It often loses power around 65 miles an hour. They charged me $75 for a diagnostic, and attempted to charge me $2750 for a catalytic converter repair that they said was unrelated to my engine issues. They're wrong, it was absolutely related to my engine issues. Cat converters don't cause rod noises. I'm deeply upset and angry, because I feel like I've been chasing kia for at least 2 of the 6 years that I've had this car, and I'm really tired of getting screwed by these big companies using our system against us. I have to pay the bank, the car dealership, and the government, but nobody has my back when kia sells me a faulty engine? they're sponsoring every major sporting event with the value they're stealing from us. They lie about engine codes. They lie about their diagnostics. I've owned a bunch of cars. I know what an engine sounds like when it's dying. They told me "it's under warranty until 150k. Bring it back if it dies. " this is criminal. I've been forced to pay full value of this vehicle, for a vehicle with a faulty recalled engine. I can't resell it with this engine unless I take a massive loss. I already filed a complaint with the NHTSA about this in 2021. I am filing another complaint, because kia hasn't resolved the issue yet. Someone is going to be responsible for this, and I'm never going to give up. I want my engine replaced, and I want criminal charges brought against the exes at this company. I'm deeply affecting my emotional state, and frankly, I'm saddened by the fact that I can get suckered into buying a 5 star vehicle (NHTSA rating) only to be met with this chaos.

Three open recalls that prevent the car from being safely driven, but my local dealer says the soonest opening they have is in 2. 5 months to perform the work.

I get an error code p050a in temperatures below 50 f after starting the car. The csr has 68k miles on it. This code relates to cold start idle air control performance. Had the car in the shop and a faulty purge solenoid was replaced and throttle bore cleaned. Now three weeks later, I get the same code again. Car seems to drive fine, but when I first start the motor seems to surge for a few seconds. I am concerned this issue will damage the motor or might even create a safety hazard.

Tl -the contact owned a 2015 kia Soul. The contact stated while driving at 70 mph, the contact smelt smoke from the inside of the vehicle. The contact stated upon trying to stop the vehicle, the brakes would not engage when depressed and the gear shifter would not change gears. The contact then stated that flames arose from the bottom of the vehicle onto the headrest and up to the dashboard and windshield. The contact was then able to unbuckle her seatbelt and jump out the vehicle while the vehicle was still moving. There were no crash or injuries do to the fire. The fire department was contacted and was able to extinguish the fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The contact has not notified local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle has not been diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer has not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 40,000. Rd.

I was notified of engine fire recall on my kia Soul. I have taken my vehicle in complaining of burning smell, engine light, tire lights coming on - every time they refuse to fix anything. I was told at the dealership by service staff that �he's sure my car if fine and it would pass thier� inspection, so there is nothing they will do. Even with the recall letter. The staff person also said that the media (news) is �making it all up�. I am disabled and they refuse to help with my car and the engine fire recall.

Have had problems with same problem since 2020 took it in roughly 5 times for same thing said was catalytic converter they put new one in not fixed when I push down on gas pedal it hesitates for 3-4 seconds then kicks in drives for a while then it shuts it down when you push on gas pedal when at a stop sign it hesitates again happens a lot more now in traffic it hesitates then kicks in something is definitely wrong with car has 55329 miles I need to know if this under warranty if electrical or transmission we are unsafe driving you never know when it is going to hesitate.

My engine is leaking oil and there is something blinking on the dashboard.

Engine error code p050a, no performance issues except revving to 2500 rpm's when cold crank start in temperatures below 50f. Cold air idle control system. Error occured on third morning of high revving. Also had both outstanding recalls serviced including having a new cat. Converter installed 4 days ago (no performance issues with any of the resolved recall problems or the current error code) dealer could not provide any solution but is aware of numerous Soul owners 2014-2017 who have the same problem.

My vehicle has been having issues with the engine for months now. I have had to have parts replaced that clearly are related to the engine , can not drive it after having it towed to the kia dealership . They corrected two recalls , but did not check for problems with my engine. They did a dx test however did not drive it to clearly see it still has same issues as when I brought it in , but worse than before now. My vehicle is part of the campaign 20v750 with code sc200. My vehicle is also burning oil , two times I was told by a mechanic that they are sure it has to do with engine issues. I called them back and addressed my concerns after leaving with it the same problems as before and was treated as if I was making up the issues I am having with the vehicle . Due to I am the 2nd owner they did not want to use my warranty I have on the engine to repair or even check into the engine for problems . Now I am having to wait until the manager comes back to work in two days to get a resolution, I can not afford to keep paying for tow charges for the 2nd time.

Driving on a city street and car engine light began to flash rapidly then my car started jerking and hesitating when coming to a stop.

My 2015 kia Soul stalls and won't pass 45 mph I was at the turnpike when it happen. I also know people with the same problem and that there was a recall on the catalytic converter. But when I look up for my car its says I don't have a recall. Why isn't there a recall for this?.

Contract 100k miles/10 years. Current mileage 92388. Still within warranty contract. While driving, 12/6/2020, my car stopped running after a brief warning on the dash. Check engine and oil light came on. Within a few minutes, I heard a noise, and the engine shut down. There were no oil leaks or any fluids under the car. I towed the car home. I towed to ray brandt kia in harvey la 12/7/20. A month later, I was told the engine failed. By 1/4/21, I was asked for permission to tear down the engine for inspection. 1/8/21 brian murray,svc mgr. Said valve cover to be removed for inspection. Fidelity warranty/ray brandt kia approved repairs ro101874. Per vicky, the inspector directed the timing belt replacement. On 1/13/21, test runs done to see if it fixed the problem but no compression. No action taken on recall 20v750. Per vicky, ray brandt recommended replacing the engine. Used engine found for replacement with approx. 42k miles. Per vicky at ray brandt svc dept. I received recall letter dated 1/25/21 by mail. Called vicky about recall. She confirmed it on her computer. Ray brandt called days later to say fidelity denied my claim. They stopped all repairs. Told I had to call fidelity for documentation. Called but no response. After sending a certified letter 3/9 to legal. Nancy beausejour called. She sent a reply dated 4/7. First two inspections reveal oil and other fluids are good and no sludge in the engine. This was prior to two more inspections with different conclusions. Final inspection show engine warped. Due to ignoring the recall, no action on service department recommendations and test runs without repairs, the engine warped. Before this failure, I had no engine overheating. Since 4/22/21, after 5 calls to kia consumer assistance ctr. ,called. May 12, 2021.

Leasing a 2015 kia Soul + from weston kia in portland, or. On 9/1/20 with 94,191 miles on it. I’ve had routine oil changes done on 12/14/20 @ 99,961 miles & again on 3/8/21 @ 104,432. Now from about 1-2 months after leasing my kia, the mil would turn on for some time then go off just to turn back on again. I had an ase certified mechanic where I work run a diagnostic check on it with a code of p0014. Called weston kia service department about it and I was told that I would have to bring it in to them, charge me $139 to run their diagnostic check to see what’s up! now on 1/25/21 I received a letter from kia about a safety recall, #20v750 for my kia, after 3 months I was finally able to get it in for the recall service. I’ve looked up my VIN number again to find out that nothing was done with my car however, now both my mil & eopwl, only at idle, is flashing, and I’ve had to add oil to my engine 2 times between oil changes, occasionally during acceleration my car hesitates from lack of power! now I’m scheduled today, 5/25/21, to go back to the dealership service center to again have my car looked at. Now after reading all 459 complaints from other kia owners with similar issues, that my first high interest rate, leased car that I still owe 10k on, is either going to cost even more to get fixed or it’s just going to die because I can’t afford to get kia’s faulty engine problems fixed nor keep going back to have a diagnostic test done @$139 just to tell me it’s nothing! 459 similar complaints is telling me that I just dug myself into a hole.

In October of 2019,I started having trouble with my 2015 kia Soul accelerating. It would bog down and I had trouble getting it to shift into overdrive. I took it into the kia dealership in idaho falls` and they said the catalytic converter was plugged, warped and very hot. They told me I had to replace the part but there were no catalytic converters to be found in the united states. Apparently, due to a recall everyone was having their cars fixed. The dealer found one in seattle that I had to pay to have shipped. The total repair, including shipping, was close to $2000. 00. The repair was performed in December 2019. Then in June 2020, on a trip to salt lake, my car started blogging down again. My check engine light came on. I had someone look at the code and they said the engine was �misfiring�. A short time later, my car bogged down on the way home and I could not go more than 40 mph on the freeway. I had to drive 35 miles with my hazards on. I took it to a local dealer and he diagnosed it as a bad catalytic converter. I decided to take it back to the dealership that replaced the catalytic converter just six months ago. Now they say my engine is damaged and I have to rebuild the engine or get a new car. It seems suspicious that I am experiencing the exact same issues covered by the recall on all 2015 kia Soul base models but my plus model is not covered. �NHTSA campaign 19v120000 report date: Feb 21, 2019 consequence: piston damage may result in an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. A broken connecting rod may puncture the engine block allowing engine oil to escape. The leaking oil may contact the exhaust, increasing the risk of a fire. � I believe my car has the same catalytic overheating protection engine control unit logic is also faulty and needs to be included in the recall which includes getting a new engine.

Engine warning light keeps coming on caused by engine code p050a told by auto shop where purchased and Kia Motors that there is no fix at this time vehicle has been to shop multiple times for this issue problem started at approx. 32000 miles current miles 33067 dealer said ok to drive but wont put in writing besides allinfo I could obtain said this issue should be treated as serious. Ongoing problem for 6 mos now . Kia rep informed me kia has been aware of problem since April 2019 as of yet nofix which leaves me with an unfixable and undrivable vehicle. Not a happy camper older vehicles appear to have had same problem.

Car was in motion going down street then engine stopped froze shut off while driving through middle of intersection. Tried to restart car once it started again engine began a loud grinding noise like pistons were ready to explode. I drove home with the engine make the loud grinding noise and stalling creating unsafe driving condition. I see that there is a 2015 kia Soul recall for gdi engines but the kia headquarters are saying there is no recall. The car is at the kia service center now and the first thing they said is that we may need a new engine. I feel that this is a very unsafe in this car and I am afraid of knowm kia Soul engine defeacts could put my life in danger while driving.

I was driving when a puff of smoke came from my engine. My car began to stall and I put the car in park and was about to make a phone call to my wife when two joggers nearby yelled that my car was on fire. I left the vehicle and ran across the street. The tow joggers had called 911. They told me that my car fire was started underneath my vehicle.

While getting ready for a 160 miles trip, a friend of mine check the engine oil and for our surprise it was off stick. . No oil but the light on the dashboard never got on as a warning. I took it to walmart and yes, they made the oil change with the note on papers that it had little oil only. . . Why this happened on a kia Soul 2015 with almost 50,000 miles?. . I don't understand and what might happened if I were going into the 160 miles trip without oil?. . Very risky. . I think.

I was driving in the middle lane when it hesitated like it wasn't getting good gas flow and within a mile it made a hiss and just got heavy. Luckily there was no traffic, I got safely of the road and within 10 min it was gone.

Driving on highway and the car excelerated all of a sudden to a higher speed. This has happen sveral times.

My car stalled down lost pressure and would not go I took it called the dealership and told them what was going on on my kia Soul 2015 the dealership the dealership said it was no recall on my car motor I had it checked out and I call the 1-800 number to see about my call or back on my car the lady told me to get the car towed to the dealership in fayetteville kia I did I paid $120 to get it towed in mike dillard called me told me there was no call back on my motor that I was going to have to replace my motor that motor was going to cost me $10,000 to get it done or get a refurbished one I've been called kia manufacturer and talk with the claims adjuster I have a claim already in progress and the lady told me to go ahead and have it towed to them but they're sending me they will not replace my motor I need help with this because something's going, because I'm looking on the website and it's stating that it is a recall on my motor but mine does not have my VIN number does it show up on the recall I need to know what I need to do with my motor my kia Soul thank you lisa goins.

Cold idle sensor will cause the car to rec at a high rpm. Kia has stated they are aware of the issue and have no know fix.

I was driving home and car was making a noise. Sounded like a truck. I check the oil and it was very low and dark. It had recently got an oil change. I put in 3 quarts and then it was at the right level. It stopped making the noise. But I smell gas from the tailpipe. This was before it sounded like a truck. I stepped on thee gas and the car barely moves. Then the check engine light showed up it was misfire codes multiple cylinder. I hear a loud hissing sound like a turbo or some sort of exhaust leak. Bad mileage burns a quart of oil every two days. The transmission does not shift too and it misfires.

The car computer is not registering the correct gear the car is placed into, thus causing the car to bypass critical safety features. The car's power train, electric systems, and fuel systems fail intermittently as a result of failing neutral safety inhibitor. The car reads that the gear is in drive instead of park and will not turn over. Thousands of other kia customers are reporting the same issues since 2010 with no resolution. Dealership service centers have not been able to help the customers because the diagnostic tools do not pick up on this signal failure. The send car owners away saying the vehicle is in great condition only for the car to stall on the highway unexpectedly a few days later. This is dangerous and the customers have been given no option but to drive a vehicle with serious safety issues. Just check out the numerous youtube videos of customers all having the same issues across multiple kia models starting in 2010.

When driving speedometer drops from. 65 to 20 was told catalytic converter is clogged needs replaced only has 66,000 the year is 2015.

My kia is burning oil and started this hesitation feeling !! my car smells burnt inside and out of the car.

Piston slapping. Engine is shutting off while driving and while on a hill it it worse. It chokes stops running and refuses to start. The oil is escaping out of the engine due to the high hard piston slapping which is making a god awful noise! the car is unsafe. It smells like fire. I see the recalls of the 1. 6 engine but this 2. 0 is doing the exact same thing.

We had a recall so we brought our kia Soul 2015 to be repaired. They had the car for a month . When we got the car back it wasn't the same ,the engine light came on. We called them again they said it was normal and our car was fine. We kept calling them the it wasn't. We were going to nh for a family reunion and bring his daughter back oo. They said that they needed to see the car onnly when the light was on, it always came on at odd times. But they assisted it was fine to go up north, well when we hit mass. The car blew it's engine. They ried to say we had no oil in in, my husband changed the oil before weleft and everything that the recall said would happen did happen. . The car was left in mass at tewksbury kia and kia would not fit the bill. So we have no car since we were in financial stress. I have no car they came and took from us. And I still have to pay even though I had the insurance were something happen it get paid off. So on a main highway our car died in the flow of traffic the scarcest thing in the world. Had to get a hotel, rental loss of work and had to depend on neighbors for a ride to work, I loved our car. Takata recall the vehicle will be stationary and mobile while stationary the vehicle will inch forward then jerk forward and while I'm going slow is will keep jerking forward. It happens on any road whether it be the highway or a town street. After I get gas and try to turn the car back on it won't start but the car will turn on and when that happens all the warning lights turn on until I turn the.

65k miles, 4 year old car and one day it just quit working and had no oil and the engine went bad.

My vehicle is having issues starting. The starter and battery have all been replaced already. I had the battery replaced and soon as I drove away it stalled and I was stranded. I have read numerious complaints from other vehicle owners of the same vehicle. I need help.

June 18, 2019-driving on highway, started to pass a slow moving vehicle, pressed accelerator and it would not go faster at first, then it did go a little faster. I moved back into driving lane and proceeded but I slowed down to 55 mph (posted speed limit 70) . Kept losing speed, put on emergency flashers, as I was exiting off highway to safe spot smoke started billowing from behind vehicle. Stopped car, as good was opened a small fire turned larger. I grabbed my fire extinguisher from back storage compartment and extinguished fire. Tow truck driver arrived, needing to make sure it could be towed without a possible reignition of fire, he removed the cover and asked me to attempt to put vehicle in neutral to be able to push it back to a position to be able to get it on tow truck. Push button start, two push for accessory position. Tow truck driver witnessed fuel squirting from a fuel line near the fuel regulator. Tow truck driver could actually insert his pen top into the size hole that is there. Vehicle towed to car dealership where we purchase it new. I am still waiting to hear if the dealership was able to get it in the shop this week, if not they said it would be Monday June 24, 2019. Pictures attached. No invoices yet except the tow invoice which I need to submit to my insurance company for reimbursement. In researching any unknown recalls on this vehicle, I found this information today and attached my screenshot.

High pressure fuel line (plastic) ruptured, vehicle caught on fire while driving. Luckily pulled over and passer-by stopped with fire extinguisher. Cost of repair in excess of $5000, kia corporate refuses to take responsibility, insurance does not cover.

I bought this vehicle new (under 3k miles) from the dealer kiefer kia. The very next day I brought the car back as there were obvious problems with it immediately. The car would hesitate, almost as if it were about to die, while driving or even sitting at a light. When I took it in the repair person heard the problem but said "that's normal for a new car". I wanted to reopen the car but they said there were no returns. I came in 2 other times. On the 4th time they finally replaced the computer. It did nothing to fix the problem but from that time I had electrical problems. They denied the electrical problems. 2 more visits they replaced the computer again and some other recall. Both problems continued. I've had to replace the battery more than once a year. It still hesitates but covid happened and now I'm in a wheel chair and have problems getting around so brining it in is even more difficult. I don't trust any more repairs they're doing I just want my money back. I stopped driving it on the highway as I'm to afraid of the engine catching fire with how it eats oil. If I want to go out of town I have to rent a car!.
