Air Bag Light On Problems of Kia Motor Soul

My 2012 kia Soul has started to make a clunking sound when turning the steering wheel. On top of this the steering has become very loose when driving. While driving the wind blew at the car and the steering being so loose caused me to almost loose control and crash. Lucky for me there wasn't another car around or it would have hit me head on. It's hard to control it especially at higher speeds. I also noticed that the air bag light is constantly on also now. I'm not sure why that is happening. I hope it works in case this steering issue causes me to wreck. I need the car to drive to work and don't have the money to pay dealership to even look at it. While driving on the highway has become very nerve-wracking due to steering being so loose. I have read that everyo e with this year and model are having similar issues.

My kia Soul was manufactured 11/16 & has 8,643 miles on it as 10/8/19. I started my car the morning of 10/719 & the air bag and electronic stability control indicator lights went on and will not go off. This morning the passenger's seat belt light was flashing also. Are there any recalls on these items for my vehicle?.

Recall 17v608 did not fix prior recall 14v332 and 15v736 problems, caused failure of steering, airbags, and engine. Accident ensued. Vehicle was driven on city street at speed under 40 mph. Driver went to change lanes and steering would not work. Rear-ended vehicle in front. Air bag did not go off, change lane indicator was noted on at scene. Driver states vehicle would not move into lane to the right and, therefore, rear-ended vehicle. Severe damage to front end of kia Soul noted. Kia was contacted.

The contact owns a 2011 kia Soul. While driving approximately 45 mph, the seat belt unlatched and struck the contact in the face. The air bag light illuminated. The contact called a local dealer and was informed that there was no recall. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact sustained a minor cut that did not require medical attention. The failure mileage was 86,285.

The airbag light stays on (driver side) and the passenger side flies on and off. Vehicle taken to dealer reports a new module needs to be installed but it would be charged to the owner. I disagree as this car has never been an accident and from reviewing complaints on line this is a known defect.

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 kia sol. The contact stated that while her son was driving about 35 mph, he lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle rolled over three times and ended up on an embankment. The contact stated that non of the air bags deployed and that there was no warning indicator. The police was at the scene and a police report was filed. The driver sustained a minor cut that did not require a medical attention. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 80,000. This was a rental car, the accident occurred resulting from driver error in a dark rural area, sharp s curve and ran off the road into a guardrail and over a slight ditch, then into a fence. Driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance, the front seat passenger hit head on windshield, cracked windshield, and no airbag deployment for either of the front seat passengers. Air bag light was on as noted in police report. Checked for any open recalls for this VIN, however, 2012 kia Soul had recalls for faulty airbags. Interesting.
