I was driving my 2018 kia Soul on madison hwy in valdosta,GA. L saw smoke coming out my hood so I was able to pull into a convenient store ! the people in the store came running out with fire extinguishers and we were able to put out the fire.

1. I experienced this twice now. Driving down an ally the vehicle turned off on me. The second time I was parked ran into my house came out and it was off. Luckily I wasn't on the highway at the time of this happening. Also in somehow lock my keys in the vehicle when I came out to grab something from the trunk . 2. You'd think a 2015 vehicle wouldn't let you do that especially with the keyless entry. 3. Also I'm noticing a vibration in the idle when sitting parked with the engine on. 4. While in cruise control I noticed that the car does not stay at a consistent speed especially going up and down hills. The vehicle loses speed within a 10 to 20 mile per hour range.

I just bought my car in April and with registration papers I received recall papers stating 2 recalls for my vehicle I didn't think it was legal to sell vehicle without having it fixed. ?? next I. Take my vehicle to kia dealer on Monday August 3 to fix recalls they. Said. No codes show. . I drive home 45 Mini away. Car dies. Inext morning. It. Dies. Again wont start. . I looks under the hood and there. Is a. Wire buring through my fus box which was not there before and now I have no. Power to my vehicle and something isn't right I know that wire wasn't there before.

I was driving down the freeway on I-20 going see mother in law @ around 10:30 pm and the car just started licking up speed on it own and I had fiancee with me . I am deaf said there something wrong I said what the car started idling really werid . And he said pull off next exit start try to stall on the freeway. So pull over to exit and start to run normal for few mins then stall again off and on. I pull off hulen st at tom thumb parking lot check everything seem okay with motor and fiancee check didnt see anything wrong. I have notice around August car seem pick up speed on it own I really didnt think anything of it. Then I notice that it seem use oil because sometime there doesnt seem be any oil in car . I would put some in and week later seem all gone. I dont see no oil leak. . I notice it used gas really fast I am having fill tank u maybe 100 to 130 a week . I dont travel far either . 11/12/2019 when stalling started and I know none light came on at all on the engine or anything. No warning no nothing. I am financing this car there a dealer they hiley Hyundai in burleson texas. I am leasing f quill m exter finance. I just recently purchase this is just 2019 2016 kia Soul. .

Vehicle was stationary. The check engine light turns on and throws p050a code. I took into authorized dealer in October 2019, I was told kia is aware of issue and the code is insignificant, they cleared the code. This code error was triggered again about 4/12/2020. I have called kia to ask for a resolution and have been informed there is not one, except to have a dealer clear the code. They have no time frame for a resolution. I believe this becoming a safety issue as we as drivers should have trust in the significance of warnings for engine problems, and I am concerned for when there is an actual issue that arises and being unaware given the light sporadically turns off as well as the potential for loss of resale as I have been considering attempting to change vehicles. We should not be expected to be able to make it in to a dealer every time this non-issue code is thrown.

Driver seat giving off electrical shock to legs and butt when pressing the gas the engine stalling the cataylic converter over heating vehicle steering right air bag dymbols pops up every now and then.

My vehicle stalled, cut out while I was driving in traffic, and died. It was diagnosed with am issue with the engine. All maintenance for the vehicle were being properly maintained ap rhere should not have had any issues. There was a defect in the engine.

Oli light does not come on when my oil is low. My 2013 kia Soul burns oil quickly had my oil changed 2 weeks ago checked yesterday the dip stick was almost dry at not time did my oil light come on. My steering wheel makes noise when I move left or right it makes a clicking noise, steering wheel feels likes it locks at time when driving on the high way.

This is the second complaint being filed reguarding this car. After we filed the first complaint we took our car back into the kia dealership for the check engine light flashing. They scanned engine and didn't find anything. They topped off our oil because it was half full. I just recently got my oil change done there 2,000 miles ago. According to the owners manual it should be done every 7,500 miles. The following day we were driving down the freeway, pulled off at our exit and smelled a horrid leak burning/ rotten egg/ sulfur smell. We immediately pulled of the road and checked the car for flames. We didn't find any. I'm really starting to feel unsafe about being in this vechiel.

A couple of weeks ago my factory radio system stopped working. Since then it will come on by itself and go back out without warning and I am unable to operate it in any way or to cut power on or off to it. A couple of days ago it smelled like it was on fire and smoke came out of it thru the dash board area inside of the vehicle. I immediately turned the car off exited the vehicle and waited a few minutes. I then popped the hood to see if there was something on fire and did not see anything but the smoke was still coming the the dashboard area. This was the only incident since 2 days ago. I was driving when I started smelling the burning smell and then I pulled over and parked and turned off the vehicle.

Car was great until it reached the 100000 mile mark. Then it loses all power and dies while going 65 to 70 mph on freeway! it is going to get me killed! when happens, the rpm gauge quickly plummets to zero and remains there at zero after I get it restarted. After it sits for about 15 minutes it starts fine with the rpm gauge giving an actual reading. This is happening about 3 times in a 25 mile span!.

Complete engine failure - 11-5-18 - all lights came on and car died in the middle of a turn. All oil was gone from engine. Car cannot even be manually cranked. Seems to be exact same issue discovered with same year 1. 6l engines, but wasn't included in recall as a 2. 0l engine for whatever reason. 3 mechanics have quoted me a $10k repair including an entire new engine. No salvage or used engines available anywhere.

My car was not starting. I do not drive it everyday and began to think it was the battery. I had it tested at the auto zone and thery said it was great no problems. Said it could be the starter but thought that odd with as few miles as on it. I also notice the recall for the steering issue I will schedule an appt for. I also have a light in my dash that stays on all the time.

The lights in my kia Souls interior and exterior are flickering and going out completely sometimes. Very unsafe when I am already driving. Happens to my headlights and dash lights and interior roof lighting. It has also caused my lights to stay on sometimes and causes my battery to die. This has happened while the car is idle or driving or off completely when the doors are open.

Was driving on the express way behind a semi. When the semi got over in the right lane I accelerated and herd a loud bang and dark smoke started coming from my engine. It smelled often and impaired my vision. Several of my causation light illuminated and I was stuck at 60 mph my car would not accelerate and stopped working. I got over in the right lane safely and coasted for about a mile and a half to the nearest exit. Something told me do not put your foot on the brakes or you will be in serious trouble. As I got of the exit I started to brake and my car stopped and died. Oil was leaking out and nothing was working. I had to get people to push me off to the side of the road and get a tow to the dealership. They told me I had catastrophic engine failure. So my engine failed me and I could have been killed. I did research and there have been many kia's with recall and very similar situations as mine but not with my model car. I am sure this is a manufactures error and I pray kia does a recall to protect people's lives.

I was in a car accident a few months ago that involved me leaving the road and that I was completely airborne landing on the other side of the embankment my air bags did not deploy under the force of my car going airborne and landing so hard that my underside of my car was torn up needing almost 6,000 dollars in repairs. Including breaking my oil filter off of the car. I was told that my airbags should have completely deployed. But they did not. I really am scared that if I was in another accident they will not deploy when needed to save my or my families life.

Dashboard lights came on and car wouldn't start. Had car towed to kia of bowie MD. , who did a diagnostic and replaced electrical panel which cost estimated $200. 00 dollars including diagnostic. Kia of bowie never called and when I finally contacted someone a week later, they stated the steering column was out and would cost approximate $2000. 00 and that's the part. Car has only 70. 000 miles.

Well the first item is the dealership told me there was a recall on the driver side panel door. The second problem right low beam light has been out now for almost two years I have been everywhere we had switched bulbs we have traced wires everything replace the relay still can I get that to work and sometimes he does lunds highway road you hit bumps all the lights come on in car it is some kind of electrical short in a car somewhere.

As I was driving north on I-95 it had started to rain. I was in the left lane of a two lane highway going 60 mph in a 70 mph zone when an 18 wheeler went by me going 85 mph or more. It pushed water on the road over into my lane and I felt my wheels begin to move. I let off the gas and gripped the wheel. My esc light never turned on. I hydroplaned from my lane into the right lane then back into my lane and off the road. The wheels locked about 20 feet off the road and the car tipped on the passenger side and hit a tree. I had my seatbelt on as I sat and dialed 911. My windshield was spiderwebbed, my hood of the car was up, and all my belongings were thrown on the right side of the car. I was wearing my prescription glasses and a headband and with the force of the hit, both were thrown off my face. As I sat in the car on the phone with 911 the car began to catch fire. I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out the door behind the driver. When I got out I realized not one air bag in my vehicle went off. Not even the side ones on the passenger side.

The vehicle stibility control light comes on when it want , which is the part of the (abs). The vehicle has been several times to resolve the problem with no luck. The light will go off when you turn off the vehicle. I do also hear a clicking noise from th driver side rear brake for couple of feet but went away. No codes present at all a cording to the dealership when they checked. Doe to the photos which my wife and I have taken during the problem the dealership decided to check the auto. The wife and I have waited several hrs. At the dealership, but still no luck for the light or the clicking sound to come on. The wife and I are very unsatisfied with the results at this time. It seems like (replace the abs) control model should eliminate the problrm.

My 2010 kia Soul is ceasing and locking up on me and my engine is shutting off. It has done this five times. I documented twice. When I took it to the dealer, I was told to recreate it. I can't believe someone would say this. When I turn right the wheel will turn left and it will stiffen and shutt off. I almost crashed 5 times.

Esc has engaged at 50 mph on dry roads rapidly slow the car down to 15 mph. This is the third occurrence in a month.

Pretty much since I have had vehicle car jerks at time, check engine light comes on at times,the fuel needle drops up and down to empty even when I just filled it up. And rang number turns to lines and flashes like car fuel is empty even though it is full. Also left head light is burnt I replaced the bulb but it didn't fix issue. So I think the whole head lamp needs to be replaced. This was purchased like this. It seems there might be a emissions issue.

File a vehuilce safety complaint 07/09/2014; confirmation #: 10609442 and have not received any feedback, response or status to my issue, which I found out many kia Soul drivers are having, but no recall has been issued to resolve teh problem. The ecs on various occasion comes on while driving or when at a stop light. Pushing the ecs on/off switch does nothing, light stays on. Turhn engine off then on, light still stays on. Contacted dealer they said being it it when it happens, to be checked out, but the light does not cooperate. The ecs light problem started when a recall for the brake switch was replaced. The problem started in 2014 and occurs a few times each year to the current date of Feb 18 2016.

The esc on two separate occasions came on while driving on dry road between 30 and 55 mph. Tried turning pushing the on/off ecs switch, but light would not go off. With vehicle stopped, shifting transmission while pushing on brake pedal, esc light would not go off. Turned off engine, waited a few minutes then restarted, light came back on. Light went off after driving a few feet and stopping at traffic light. I do not know what damage or problems this may cause to the operational capabilities of the vehicle. If it happens one more time, as I suspect it will, I will contact the dealer.

Cruise control randomly cut off. Then esc and abs lights come on and disables anti-lock brakes system and stability control. Best guess faulty brake switch.

Without warning and while driving on dry pavement even at steady speed esc warning light flashes and vehicle suddenly looses power drastically (barely runs) . Esc acting like car is on ice when it is not . Drove 1 mile on dry pavement with car barely running. Problem is intermittent and has occurred on 3 occasions within 300 miles of driving. Had car to dealer for esc malfunction on 3-4 occasions for this problem and problem still occurring. Dealer acknowledged problem on visits 1-2. Brake switch & abs module replaced but did not solve problem . Last visit after another esc breakdown they said they could find nothing wrong , even though it malfunctioned only 2 days before car brought in. Dealer has had car in shop for over 1 month total time. They apparently are unable to fix it. I am driving an unsafe car with only a little over 9000 miles on it that is still under warranty. Yet they have offered no resolution. I don't need my car to go into "limp mode" while passing a car on a 2 lane road!. Car runs normal however if esc switch is turned off.

I bought a brand new kia Soul in Nov of 2011. Within 200 miles of ownership, the electronic stability control malfunction and falsely activated. The esc not only falsely activated but remained activated. The steering wheel was locked up and could only be turned if considerable force was applied to it. I carefully pulled over the to side of the road. I turned off my vehicle then started it back up hoping the esc would turn off. It did not. I ended up having to get the vehicle towed to my dealer. The kia dealer service shop ultimately had to replace the entire steering column to "fix" the problem. About two months later I was driving down the interstate and attempted to do a lane change. Again the electronic stability control falsely activated and caused me to collide with the vehicle directly in front of me. When the esc activated, the steering wheel locked up and caused a sudden loss of control, resulting in the accident. These are just 2 of many incidents I have experienced.

Operational warning lights for brakes-stability control-anti-lock brakes. I have returned to dealer 3 times and they were unable to fix. This creates a safety concern. I. E. Do these systems function as required when driving conditions present themselves.

Electronic stability control comes on when traveling on dry roads going in straight line and stays on for indeterminate periods (sometimes days at a time) unrelated to driving conditions. Will not turn off even when vehicle is stopped and key is taken out of ignition - when you put the key back into ignition and turn the traction control is still engaged. When the traction control is engaged the gas mileage is negatively impacted. Dealer has no fix for problem.

When driving at any speed & need to suddenly stop, the vehicle brakes lock up & do not stop the vehicle in time. Basically, the tires lock up & the car continues to skid & screech. This is especially aggravated when the vehicle drives over a pothole or other defect in the roadway while braking or in constant stop-&-go traffic. The vehicle has narrowly missed crashing into other vehicles or structures numerous times. I noticed the problems within a couple of weeks of purchasing the new 2011 car. It feels very dangerous & scary & I'm very uneasy about driving in certain situations because I'm not sure if the car will respond properly in an emergency.

Driving the vehicle down the road in good weather conditions when the brakes initiated for no reason and no gas seemed to be going to the throttle. The esc light came on. I attempted to turn the traction control light off but there was still no change. The vehicle slowed down to about 5 miles an hour and stalled out a couple of times because lack of gas going to the vehicle. Fortunately I was in a congested area and was only traveling about 20 mph when this happened. Could have been extremely dangerous had I been on a highway.
