Warnings Problems of Kia Motor Soul

This 2024 kia Soul, 2 issues 1. The instrument cluster does not show, when turning the vehicle on the instrument cluster is blank, meaning I cannot see the speed limit, how much fuel or use any adaptive features, braking, lane departure, cruise control, etc ****this creates a dangerous situation and I do not believe the car is safe to drive**** I see there is a recall for this issue on 2023 models kia 23v298000 kia sc270 2. Intermittent window issues with the automatic windows, when opening from the driver side the windows will not come back up, have to pull over and turn vehicle on and off and /or try to close the windows from each door individually I called to report this to kia at [xxx] and asked them to repair both and they were not much help, I asked this be reported and am not confident the person will actually do so they did tell me there were issues already noted which I requested be raised to a technical service bulletin or a recall and extend the warranty for all affected vehicles thank you information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. Description of incident: on February 13, 2026, at approximately 3:00 pm, I was driving my 2021 kia Soul (VIN: [xxx] ) on calvine road in elk grove, CA. A vehicle suddenly merged into my path. I immediately attempted to apply the brakes, but the pedal failed to depress or engage normally. Despite the imminent collision, the forward collision-avoidance assist (fca) failed to provide any alert, and the automatic emergency braking (aeb) system did not activate. To avoid a high-speed rear-end collision, I was forced to perform an emergency steering maneuver toward the curb and into roadside bushes to stop the vehicle. This maneuver resulted in severe mechanical failure, including a broken driver-side axle, damaged rims, and broken brake pads. The dealership (elk grove kia) has provided an estimate of $9,461. 67 for these repairs but has failed to explain why the primary safety systems and service brakes failed to function as designed during this emergency. Several times in the past year the power steering has spontaneously failed requiring significant force to stabilize the vehicle and creating an obvious hazard while driving. The forward collision system indicates there's a fault while this occurs. Sometimes this is cleared by cycling the power on and off. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer who indicated they cannot locate the source of the problem. First I get a safety issue warning with the front camera then I get a safety issue warning with a back camera well those warnings go off and I'm left with an abs signal on my dashboard orange triangle with a exclamation point in it skid something with the car it shows it's weaving and I'm not sure what the fourth one was. But this has been going on going issue with this dashboard because when it starts flashing everything the car goes into limp mode. Usually if I shut the car off wouldn't turn it back on about 10 minutes later I don't get any flashing lights and the car is no longer limp mode. The problem has ever been found or corrected. The car is not sitting in my driveway waiting for a tow truck to take it to kia Soul over there in perryville rockford illinois but they don't provide tow service for the vehicles either. Even when it's a safety issue. I would never buy from this company again it's been one thing after another. This is only a 2 year old car has been driven 2500 miles.

Intermittent failure of multiple safety?critical advanced driver assistance systems (adas) while driving. Forward collision avoidance, lane safety, and other driver?assist features disable simultaneously without warning.

Rodents chewed through the main wire harness on my vehicle on 2 separate occasions, both times in the same exact location. This recurring damage poses a serious safety risk and may be linked to soy-based wire coatings that attract rodents. The first incident required a $4,979. 27 repair, covered by insurance; I paid a $500 deductible. The vehicle was diagnosed by boonton auto body shop. I recently discovered a second instance of rodent damage in the exact same location, which has not yet been repaired. This led me to investigate further and learn that this may be a common issue in certain vehicles, possibly due to soy-based insulation. I filed a complaint with kia, but they denied responsibility. The main wire harness is critical to safety systems including braking, steering, engine performance, lighting, and airbags. Although I caught the issue before any accident occurred, undetected damage could lead to serious safety failures while driving. Some may argue the issue is environmental, but I also own a 2012 Toyota prius, which I own and park in the same location since 2012. That vehicle has never had any rodent damage. This suggests that the problem is not just environmental, but may be due to the design, material based, or placement of the wiring in the kia. Many consumers are unaware they can report safety-related issues to NHTSA. After being denied by the manufacturer, most are left with high repair costs and no resolution. I am concerned that if consumers remain silent or unaware of this process, kia will not be held accountable. This is not an isolated case. The repeated, location-specific failure and the manufacturer's refusal to act show a clear pattern of potential design defect. I urge NHTSA to investigate this issue seriously, issue a recall to ensure kia addresses the problem and protects consumer safety, and require the manufacturer to reimburse affected consumers for repair costs. This issue must be addressed before a serious accident occurs.

The car has rebooted (like a computer) three times in the last month as I am driving the car. Not in park, not just starting the car. I am in drive and the car just reboots. Today, I received a warning about my forward collision system and all the lights on the dashboard lit up.

While crossing an intersection a Jeep gladiator ran a red light causing my vehicle to hit it broad side. Front and side airbags did not deploy. The frontend was damaged is buckled, hood about 6", fenders crushed and the grill was destroyed. Driver's door wouldn't open. The seatbelt didn't restrain my wife enogh to keep her from hitting the steering wheel. This caused bruises on her leg , abdomen and chest areas.

The vehicle stalls and turns off while stopped. The vehicle turns off quickly with all dash light sensors turned on with a front collision warning. The vehicle can only be restarted when is boosted. The battery was checked and is in good working condition.

I am driving on the highway. No construction. No traffic. Cruising. No problems. I get a dashboard warning "wrong way! turn around safely" it was on for at least 10minutes. Very worrisome. But the lane assist was still working.

Since purchasing the vehicle, it just turns off while driving. It has never stopped doing this. The dealership has consistently stated they are unable to repair as the diagnostic device does not register any code. Impossible as the car should have retained a code for this and so many other warning lights going off. Even so, kia has the responsibility of fixing it all this time. I have shown screen shots where both lower level rows of warning lights and the one in the upper right corner are all on or a variation. There are people in my car witnessing these events. My family and myself are in eminent danger. The car is unreliable and unable to pass emissions with warning lights on or the car just shutting off. Kia continues to endanger us by forcing the car back onto the road without repairs, or so they say. They do not state what they have done other than taking off the front bumper and I believe they didn't even intend to tell me. I drive away it occurs again. You turn off the car; then, turn it back on and the lights go away temporarily. Kia customer care will only allow a service manager to communicate with, so if they are on vacation or out the car owner has no recourse and no car. Request a kia field manager and refuse!!! will only take action if diagnostic show code which it doesn't and I have witnesses the car just turns off. This is not the only kia vehicle that have known to shut down. I have never received a notice of recall and it doesn't show, but my SUV shuts off while driving and kia has failed to repair or replace. I have special road side assistance other than kia as they are untrustworthy and must caravan if I have to travel. I should not be limited or live in fear of being killed in this vehicle. It has been towed, won't start,. . . . .

I was driving doing about 30 mph and hit a boulder and came to complete stop and my air bags did not deploy. And there is another feature vogue or on star that is spouse to call for help did not go off either.

Stopped at stop light, light turned green. Pressed gas and dashboard symbols came on and car died. Tried starting again and it was dead. Pushed it to parking lot and tried to jump it. Didnt jump. . Pushed to auto zone. Tested battery it was at 10%. They didn't have a battery. Used a jump box and car started. Was able to drive it home.

1-on three different times I pulled out onto the highway to go and my car goes into limp mode no power how much you push the gas petal them eventually it takes off and goes. Called the dealer where I purchased my car and they told me to just drive my car in sport mode. I don't like having to drive my car in sport mode the rpm's run high and it uses more gas. 2- my forward collision assist system causes my dash lights (collision light, abs light, traction control lights come on and again went back to kia and they basically told me until they can duplicate it they don't have anything to call kia about. 3- my gas hand lies at times I can fill my car up and the hand goes to half a tank and takes hrs to a day or two for the hand to move to full. 4-just recently in a walmart parking lot my car just shut of as if I turned the key off again my dealer said if the can't duplicate it there is nothing they can do. I don't feel safe driving my car something needs to be done I wonder if anyone else is having the same problems. This has been happening over 5 months with the last episode on Jan. 6,2021.
