2000 kia Sportage with gas tank leak. Consumer states that he is requesting reimbursement for fuel tank repairs. Kia states that they will not reimburse due to the leak not being at the bottom of the fuel tank. The consumer believed heavy road salt may have contributed to the corrosion of the gas tank, however the mechanic was unable to prove that was the case.
After the inspection of vehicle by dealer it was determined that fuel tank and pump have rusted. Manufacturer has been notified. Please provide additional information.
