Tl-the contact owns a 2012 kia Sportage lx fwd auto. Contact stated that while driving at 65 mph, without warning the vehicle engine stalled. The contact got out the vehicle and managed to push the vehicle with assistance from a bystander to the shoulder of the road state farm was contacted and towed the vehicle to the contact residence. The next day the vehicle resume back to normal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer demontrond kia 14101 north freeway, houston, TX 77090 (281) 872-3859 where it was diagnosed and determined that the key fob need to reprogrammed. The vehicle was repaired. However, the failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer for a 2nd diagnoses test which determined at that time the engine needed to be replaced. No leaks present. The contact mentioned NHTSA recall number 19v101( engine) as a possible solution to the failure that occurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer where no further assistance was taken. The failure mileage was approximately 129,806. Tl- the contact owns a 2012 kia Sportage. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle a knock noise was present coming from the engine before the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the engine bearing rod had damaged the engine. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was contacted in reference to the failure and informed that the vehicle was not included in the NHTSA recall campaign number 17v224000(engine and engine cooling). The local dealer was not notified. The failure mileage was 206,000. Jft.
2012 kia Sportage 2. 4 mpi, engine stalled on road, loud knocking from engine. Dealership stats not covered under warranty and requires new engine. Vehicle only had 111,000 miles and had frequent oil changes every 5000 miles with full synthetic.
Engine seized. Moves while in park moves forward in reverse. Driving engine stalled pulled over car died. Then would not engage but still moved as described. Had happened a few months ago after transmission replace. Then the igniter switch needed replacement.
