1 Brake Lights Bulbs problem of the 2017 Kia Motor Sportage

Failure Date: 10/21/2021

The contact owns a 2017 kia Sportage. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph as she would depress the brake pedal to slow for traffic or a traffic signal, the contact required more force to depress the brake pedal before the vehicle would slow. The contact also observed that when she would make a right turn she would need to use more force to depress the brake pedal. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact also stated that when she would have to apply the brake pedal in a sudden stop the front brakes would make an abnormal sound like loose pieces of metal were bouncing in the front wheels. Additionally, the contact stated that her rear brake lights had begun to burn out every few months, she said that she noted that the brake light wires appeared to have melted. The contact state all the failures were recurring. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the rear tail light cables needed to be replaced and replaced the tail light bulbs and the wires. The mechanic diagnosed that the all the brake pads and calipers needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that all of the failures had reoccurred. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. The contact added that she had had a motor replaced in December of 2022 and the failure mileage was 89,000.
