Windshield Problems of Kia Motor Sportage

The contact owns 2020 kia Sportage. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle it was later discovered that a crack had developed in the front glass windshield. The contact indicated that no rock of object had made contact with the glass windshield to cause the crack and the crack started at the low section of the glass and extended up approximately 6 inches. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.

The contact owns a 2020 kia Sportage. The contact stated that while driving at 55 mph, an unknown, small object hit the middle of the steering wheel which formed a spiderweb like crack. The contact called the dealer to file a claim but was informed that the windshield was not covered under warranty. The contact then called her insurance and an independent mechanic performed a minor repair to the windshield which made the crack less visible. Since the initial failure, three additional cracks had formed on various parts of the windshield after minor impact. The contact stated that the cracks had obstructed her vision while driving at various speeds. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

Its approx 57 degrees out. 6:30 am this morning went outside to start car came, back 10 minutes later to go to work and found a crack (which wasn't there when I started the car) from bottom left corner up to the top. On my way to work another crack started in the middle of the windshield. My car is 9 weeks old, no accident, no chips. When I called the car dealer they said call my insurance company it should be covered. I told them that I felt they should take care of it. They told me no. What will happen in the dead of winter?.

Wiring harness failure - dealer diagnosis - cracked, brittle, corrosion - lose of interior fan resulting in no heat, defrost, air conditioning. Dealer states harness and fuse block replacement required. I have no heater or defrost - it was 22 degrees this morning - I drove 5 miles before windshield was clear.

This accident occurred while backing out of my driveway at 5mph or less. My car bumped a tree and I did not even feel it hit the tree. When I put the car in drive and started down the street the window shattered, that was the first I even realized that I had bumped the tree.

Door stays ajar. Mechanic told consumer that door is not off line, yet door does not close properly. Now horn has failed, security alarm system acts erraticly, the right side hood if offline and is bent causing the hood to intrude outward towards the front fender, and the driver side back window will not move up or down.

Oxygen sensor has been replaced three times after routine service was performed. Consumer also stated the wipers were not clearing windshield, windows go up slowly, 4-wheel drive was inoperative,vehicle was loosing power steering, dealer replaced the fan belt,air condition was inoperative,wheel bearing were loose,weatherstrip was replaced,the engine boggs down while driving, front brakes were noisy.

I was told before purchasing the kia-that the 5-yr warranty covers bumper-to-bumper. The windshield smashed with little impact when a large soft inflatable ball hit the antenna. The windshield has a manufactured unsafe defect.

Driver side window rattles and passenger side window leaks water and air.

While driving, gear shift automatically pops into another gear. Had taken to dealer. Consumer states there is wind noise coming from all four doors.

The run channel on front drivers door is folded in the window causing wind noise to come into the drivers door. Nlm.

Vehicle has air leakage through windshield and when on highway speed in rocks. Defrost does not work properly a fan is always running with either hot/cold. The seat belt locks on you at any time. The breaks make a grinding noise.

Consumer states water was leaking inside the vehicle, also air was coming through windows.

Front windshield has air leaks & at high speeds the wind is annoying. The front passenger seat belt locks into place as soon as the passenger clamps into place. One doesn't have to press brake peddle for it to tighten around person. When driving and particularly engaging the clutch to down shift the gear linkage disengages and the gears can't be located especially in second, third or fourth gears and because of such has almost caused three crashes. We had this checked by the dealer and they said they found nothing wrong with the gear shifting mechanism. I beg to differ because I drive that car every day and I've driven many manual shift transmissions cars and I believe that after driving for sometime (I. E. , one to two hours) the transmission heats up and causes problems with gear selection.

We have an antifreeze problem still to this day; our brakes still are squealing now; it didn't start twice; ice builds up where the door and the car come together-damaging door; has iced over inside the car; windows would never clear off-couldn't see anything while driving; didn't idle properly-and still doesn't.

The window seals on the door failure caused the air kept coming in. Yh.

Throttle: car intermittently jerks in first and second gears. Service person at dealership has been present and experienced this and said throttle has problems, but problem continues to be unresolved. Technician says he can't duplicate it. This jerking occurs several times a week and after the car has warmed up. This is dangerous on the roads in the winter and can cause loss of control of the vehicle. Tailgate assembly has been repaired at least two times - it fails to shut properly - which allows exhaust fumes to enter vehicle. The tailgate has to be shut three or more times before finally closing. Problem has not been fixed. Same problem - not shutting properly - with passenger side rear doors. During the winter, inside of windows stayed "fogged up" preventing a clear view of traffic. Defrost failed to clear moisture inside vehicle. Dealership said this was normal.

The front windsheild has air coming inside the vehicle while driving.
