1 Suspension Noise problem of the 2006 Land Rover LR3

Failure Date: 06/11/2014

I began to notice a rattling noise coming from underneath the driver's side, while driving at any speed. After a week, the "suspension fault" light came on. I was told the suspension compressor needed to be replaced, so I went ahead with the repairs at a cost of $1600. When I picked up the vehicle and tested the suspension, it would not raise into off road height. It lowered fine, but when I put it in normal height, only the rear would raise. It also took a lot longer than usual. I didn't even get it out of the shop parking lot before the suspension fault light lit up again. After researching this problem online and finding out that this is a common problem that sometimes takes 2 or 3 attempts to correct, it's obvious there's a defect with the suspension system or the actual compressor. Either way, this should be covered by landrover. I hope they do the right thing and issue a recall.

2 Suspension Noise problem of the 2006 Land Rover LR3

Failure Date: 07/18/2011

As we were driving, the suspension fault light came on and immediately went off. We thought it may be due to the road conditions. About 30 minutes later, we stopped to gas up and when we were back on the road, the radio would not work. No sound but a cracking sound was coming from the radio. After a hour, the radio came back on. Last week, I was driving and the suspension light was came on and off every 5 or 10 minutes, it seemed. Then a loud chime with a suspension fault in red letters. At a stop light, the vehicle was going up and down like it has a mind of its own. Kindly of spooky. Of course, our 2006 Lr3 is out of warranty. I called the dealer and it will cost $125 for a diagnosis but it will go toward the cost of the service whatever is needed. All I see is major dollars signs due to our last experience. The dealer quoted us a cost of $250 for a problem my husband fixed with a $12 fuse. So my husband will not take it back to the dealer not unless it is a must.

3 Suspension Noise problem of the 2005 Land Rover LR3

Failure Date: 01/30/2010

My 2005 Land Rover Lr3 has several warning lights, varies from brake to suspension which usually clears itself after restarting the engine. Last week the amber light on the suspension heights is on again with chimes each time the engine starts. 3 days ago, I was driving to a supermarket when the amber light turned red, the suspension system failed, the vehicle dropped to a low stance and very bouncy. It made strange noise from the left rear side, I can't even drive more than 25 miles per hour, as it will bounce wildly. The car is now still stuck in a low level suspension, parked in the a parking space near my house. Lucky it happens not more than 10 miles away from my house, so I drove it very slowly. If this problem happens in a freeway, this is a very dangerous situation.

4 Suspension Noise problem of the 2005 Land Rover LR3

Failure Date: 04/08/2007

Suspension drops and raises while driving. Lights and alarms on dash. Unable to drive car safely. Took car to dealership and "front height sensors" replaced. Car at dealership for 8 days. Picked up car and drove for 2 weeks and noticed difficulty driving car, and a "tin can sound" under car. Looked under car and found extreme inside wear on tires - especially rear tires where steel tread exposed. Took car to a tire repair/replacement establishment and informed that "cambrs" were "out" and car very unsafe to drive. Tires replaced with new tires. Dealership did not inform customer of "extreme" inside wear on rear tires. This defect should have been repaired while the car was at the dealership for 8 days. Family drove on steep mountain roads while these tires were worn and outcome could have been deadly.

5 Suspension Noise problem of the 2006 Land Rover LR3

Failure Date: 01/01/2007

Uneven tire wear at 9000 miles. Loud noise in cabin. I contacted the dealer to check the alignment as there is a TSB on this and was told "the goodyear tires are just not good" I have never seen a tire wear only on the inside edge because the tire is bad. Looks related to the air suspension and toe to me. But they wont fix it, they told me to go buy new tires. I just paid 55k for the truck and 6 mos later they want me to buy good tires????.
