Stopped at red light -- while waiting there came a very loud bang in back. I got out to inspect the rear and found the back window was fully crazed with two sizeable holes. I could find nothing that might explain the damage -- no projectiles in our outside the car -- no damage to the car other than a decimated rear window. By the time I got home the window was 80% broken in with the trunk area filled with shards. Another search (including with police) found nothing to explain the issue. Seems to be a manufacturing failure perhaps triggered by atmospheric events (temp or pressure changes)?.

Original coolant manifolds, two piece vehicle was inspected by service tech at north atlanta Land Rover in alpharetta GA on June 2, 2025. Vehicle was then inspected for a second opinion at bear valley service llc on June 10, 2025. Findings were consistent and I was advised to repair this two piece manifold system and its components before it failed causing catastrophic failure to the vehicle. Said repair was complete June 11, 2025. Safety to myself and potential passenger would be potential for vehicle to fail causing an accident, engine failure, steering issues, etc. This similar problem has been reported to Land Rover numerous times. Land rover has not issued a recall although they acknowledge (per both techs) that this two piece manifold system is prone to splitting and cracking. Land rover has sub sequentially changed and now installs one piece manifold systems to eliminate the prior problem. I had to pay for the replacement of this system regardless that Land Rover is completely aware this is a design or manufactured defect that was installed in my vehicle when it was built. I should not have to bear the financial burden to replace parts that the dealer and manufacturer have acknowledged cause catastrophic problems. The manifold issue was discovered by the dealership mentioned above and they recommended immediate replacement to avoid catastrophic failure. ($5116. 30) I took the vehicle to another Range Rover authorized repair shop for a second opinion and they made the same recommendation. Based on that second opinion, I proceeded to have the two piece replaced by the one piece system to prevent catastrophic failure. I can provided the invoice listing labor and all associated replacement parts that were installed. This is a Land Rover issue and I believe they should pay the entire amount due to the fact they acknowledge the failure of these parts yet have no intention to do so.

On may 25th, 2025 around noon, I was backing up my Range Rover out of the garage to go and buy some items, after I exited the garage I felt that the car had bumped an item in the back, I did not see anything on the back view camera because sometimes it is slow to load up and also I did not hear any warning noises from the rear sensors, I moved the car forward trying to avoid further bump and to my knowledge I put the rotary gear selector in parking mode and got out of the car, at that point the car started moving backward, and I got stuck between the open door and the backward moving car, I tried to put my hand on the break to stop the car and I manage to stop the car at the time when the car hit a bench under the tree, and I got pinned between the open door and the bench that was stopped by the tree. I had a major trauma to the right side of my body, I was rushed to the nearest hospital, when it was decided that I need to be transported to a larger facility via ambulance. Radiology tests showed a large hematoma on the right side of my body between the rib cage and the pelvis along with a flank hernia with pertruding of the right colon. My home security camera caught the incident, unfortunately, I am unable to upload the file because your system does not allow. Mov type of files.

The front suspension knuckle on my 2016 Range Rover developed a visible crack, which caused severe play in the steering and made the vehicle unsafe to drive. On even small bumps, the vehicle would suddenly and forcefully pull into other lanes, creating a serious hazard. My safety, my [xxx] child’s safety, and the safety of others on the road were clearly at risk. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Land Rover dealership on January 30, 2025, where the issue was diagnosed and confirmed. I was advised not to drive the vehicle due to the danger, and it has remained parked at the dealership since that day. This issue is part of an open safety recall, but there has been no repair, no replacement part, and no loaner or rental vehicle provided to date. The vehicle has been out of service for nearly five months. There were no dashboard warning lights related to the steering, but I did receive a suspension system error message before the diagnosis. Steering instability continued to worsen leading up to the appointment. The dealership inspected and documented the cracked knuckle, and the defective part remains in the vehicle, available for inspection if needed. I am submitting this complaint due to the extended delay in addressing a known safety defect, the lack of support from the manufacturer, and the serious danger this failure presents to drivers and others on the road. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

My 2016 Range Rover has the symptoms (doors may appear to be closed but may be unlatched) that match NHTSA campaign number 20v387000. However, Jaguar Land Rover north America, llc will not include my vehicle in this recall since my VIN falls outside the VIN range. As NHTSA campaign number 20v387000 states, "unlatched doors may open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of a crash. " because of this, any vehicle in the make/model/year affected by NHTSA campaign number 20v387000 should be addressed as it is a safety issue to have closed doors possibly open while the vehicle is in motion.
There is a crack in the knuckle on the drivers side.

Land rover has been made aware through several complaints that there is a widespread issue with their vehicles that requires recall. Thousands of customers have reported issues in their vehicles with cylinder 4 cracked pistons resulting in engine failure. Land rover refuses to address the issue in their vehicles causing this malfunction and costly vehicle repair. Land rover needs to issue a recall to address and rectify this issue in their vehicles as this issue results in the vehicle losing speed and coming to a complete halt with no warning from the vehicle. The vehicle does not display any warnings even if dangerously low on oil - no warning sign will display. This could result in death of multiple people and cause crashes. It is highly dangerous and needs to be addressed by Land Rover with urgency.

I own the above Land Rover Range Rover. While driving on the highway I heard a loud pop and then found that the interior glass panel of the sunroof was completed shattered into thousands of pieces. The sunroof is composed of two pieces of glass. The exterior glass was not affected. I did nothing to cause this to occur. I found reports online of similar occurrences. The sunroof was inspected by my local Range Rover dealer in jackson, ms who had no explanation of how this happened or could happen. I was told I would be responsible for the repair. It has yet to be repaired.

The vehicle does not go into gear in timely way. . I put car in reverse and occasionally it stays in drive. Very dangerous to assume your car is backing up but goes forward. It happened to my son also when driving my car. Seems like there is lag time between shifting gears and vehicle actually going into gear. I just spoke to three other owners of my make, year and model of car and they said they have had same issues.

The contact owns a 2023 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. However, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. In addition, the contact stated the back passenger side door does not latch as intended; sand and leaves from the outside would enter inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. However, no cause for the failure was found. The trim was replaced. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
All four doors either are not locking when I lock the doors or they are not unlocking when I hit the unlock button. This cause the door to appear closed while not fully latched, potentially opening while driving. There is already a recall for this issue for my year and model but my VIN is not on the list.
I purchased this Range Rover in November of 2022. The vehicle was serviced once at the dealership for wind noise on June 26, 2023. The vehicle was parked at my home for a week while our family was on vacation before I returned on August 10th, 2023. It was not driven during this time period. On August 10th, 2023 I came out of the house to drive the vehicle and remotely unlocked the car and sat in the vehicle. One of my children's cars was parked behind me, so I got out of the car and took another vehicle to run a quick 20 minute errand. I returned home and went inside the house. Shortly thereafter the Range Rover caught fire under the hood on the passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle was parked under the soffit of my house and ended up catching my entire house on fire. The car continued to burn under the hood until it was put out by the fire department. The fire department and other investigators traced the source of the fire to the right front portion of the Range Rover under the hood on the passenger side. My neighbor also witnessed the car buring in this area right before he went to get a fire extinguisher and call the fire department.
The spoiler cracked when I closed the rear door using the remote. A piece of the spoiler flew off while I was driving.

The Range Rover dash displays that the door is open but it is not. When the Range Rover comes to a stop the Range Rover does not move. It has occurred 10 times, this last time it stopped traffic at an intersection and bexar county sheriff’s had to arrive at scene. I have video of what happens each time it comes to a stop.
Placed car into park by moving gare dial from drive to park. Got out of car and car started moving back and I was knocked down by the door and dragged by the car on the driveway. Suffered torn shin with 7 stiches to muscle and 14 stiches, broken foot and lacreations all over the back. 13 year old in the car pushed the off button to turn car off.
At the end of may, about 10 days after getting my car serviced at the Land Rover manhattan location middle of may, I headed to a short trip with my family. An hour into our trip, I could hear horrible noises coming from the engine, as if the gears were grinding with the engine shaking drastically. As I tried to pull to the side of the highway to safety, smoke started coming out of the front of my car. I got my family out of the car immediately and called roadside assistance. I went to inspect my car while we waited, and I noticed that there was oil all over the front (and rear) bumpers, as if all of the oil had spilt while I was driving. This was extremely strange since there was no light on my dashboard and my car had recently been serviced. It has been a month and a half since the incident and I have yet to get a clear idea of what exactly went wrong and I have yet to receive back my car.

Was on steep driveway, put car in park and kept it running. Got out - left drivers side door open. Went to car in front of me to direct it more forward (to turn around), and once car in front of mine moved out of front, my car slammed on gas and sideswiped her car and ran through a fence, almost going off a cliff. My car went into drive once the cameras detected no car in front!.

While driving on a clear day on a virginia state highway at about 50 mph on Sunday, may 16, 2021, my wife and I heard and felt a very loud explosion as if the car had been hit by a very large object. We observed no immediate damage, saw no debris bounce off the car and the car that was closely following us made no evasive movements as if there was debris in their path. We stopped within a few hundred yards and noticed that the rear 10 inches or so of the moonroof had simply exploded. The glass was buckled up and shattered. We were not injured and the car functioned normally. We are taking it to the Range Rover dealer this morning and they advise me it is not covered by the warranty. My insurance company, usaa, will most likely pay the cost of repair, which is estimated at $5500. I am convinced this was caused by a defect in the glass or faulty design or manufacture. In my view, this is a serious defect with the potential to cause serious injury.
I had backed in to the garage and turned the knob to park. The vehicle was in park, I had removed my seatbelt but not exited the car yet and the car went backwards with some force and breaking didn't stop it, only after I hit the button to cut it off, multiple times, did it finally shut down. My husband was behind the car, getting ready to get the groceries out of the rear. This vehicle struck him and went thru the kitchen wall of our condo. His leg was stuck under the tire which that was turning on top of his calf. I am absolutely certain the car was in park bc not only was the knob set at p but also the p was on the screen. Only certain because I'm always cautious due to the proximity of distance of everything in the garage and tight quarters.
I experienced an unintended powered rollaway. Specifically, as I was reversing out of my garage, I noticed something on the ground so I put the vehicle in park to pick it up. When I exited the vehicle, I was standing in the wedge between the driver's seat and the open driver's door, and the car unexpectedly rolled in reverse. I did not hear or see any warnings at any time that alerted me that I was in any danger. I quickly tried to get back into the car to stop it (my 4-yr-old son was inside) and, when trying to get back in, I was pushed out, fell to the ground, and found myself fighting with the door and the tire coming toward my head and body. I stuck my right hand into the car to press the brake pedal with my hand. Ultimately, my right hand fell out of the car, and the car rolled over and crushed it. The driver's door hit my head, which caused a concussion and bleeding. The car dragged me from the garage into the driveway, causing tire burns and scrapes on my body. Ultimately, the car stopped when it rolled down the driveway and hit a post across the street. I was then transported to the hospital in an ambulance, where they ran multiple tests on my entire body and diagnosed my concussion and broken hand. I have since had to undergo reconstructive surgery on my right, dominant hand as the bones in my hand were crushed by the vehicle's tire.
There was a recall on this vehicle for the backup camera not engaging, Land Rover campaign n637. I have brought it in to the dealer three times to have this repaired. My backup camera still does not consistently work. Sometimes it works; sometimes it does not work.
My door locks are failing and Land Rover / Range Rover is telling me it has nothing to do with your prior investigation, recall or other. First, I couldn't get my passenger door to lock, then it suddenly started working again. Now, I can't get my driver side to lock, and my passenger is fine. Land rover claims they already updated my "software" but I think it's something much more detailed than that, as there are literally 1000's of people asking on the internet about the exact same problem. Not sure if this will result in my doors flying open suddenly, as has been documented in prior cases with NHTSA for my year Range Rover - but I truly feel as if they know about a problem with their door actuators, software and locks but are unwilling to fix them in their dealership under recall or warranty. Several dealers have noted for my VIN, they've developed new actuators because of flaws in previous versions and want me to spend upwards of $2k to have replacements.
While driving on highway (interstate 87), traveling about 2 hours into my drive with my 8 year old daughter and family dog at a speed of 65 mph, the vehicle's system went into failure mode and stated "diesel particular filter full" with no prior warning of this. Vehicle had some loss of power then followed by "limp" mode which then was extreme loss of power. Vehicle system failed and did not issue prior warning of "regeneration" of diesel particular filter. Vehicle had been serviced several times for def fluid light, diesel sensor issues, and also failed nys inspection on it's first annual inspection in February 2019. I also had it repaired since fuel tank went to "empty" while driving. Vehicle is unsafe and Jaguar Land Rover should acknowledge there are major issues with the safety of these vehicles. We were originally sold another diesel Range Rover through same dealer (mount kisco) but that vehicle could not pass nys inspection as well. We were asked to drive it for a couple of hundred miles and bring it back for inspection but it kept failing and were then sold this one.
When I'm driving on the parkway the vehicle accelerates on it's own to 100mph+ then it cuts off.

While traveling approximately 15 mph (inside my subdivision as was only leaving the my garage to commute into work) and making a right hand turn, the left side passenger door opened by itself. Initially unaware of this (inside lights did not turn on, nor the passenger dash highlighting any information) I continued to drive, only to have the now open door smash into a brick column which was to the left side of me. I immediately pulled to the right to assess what was happening and found that the door was dented and scratched but now the door latch was now engaged and the door not able to close. Thankfully my 8 month old daughter, who usually sits on this side of the car was not with me. I am extremely alarmed and concerned that the door could become opened by itself and now understand that this matter is being investigated by NHTSA due to others having had similar issues. I want to document that I too have had this happen to me and am doing my best now to work with Land Rover directly to assist me in fixing the issue, including the root cause and body work. However, the dealer representative is already suggesting no fault by the vehicle.
Brought my car for an urgent airbag safety recall matter solicited by Land Rover and the NHTSA described as a matter that "can cause serious injury or death". Scheduled appointment two weeks in advance and was assured orally and in writing that "if required (the business will) provide a loaner vehicle for free". I arrived on time to my appointment and was told that no loaners are available. I have scheduled several appointments for today basing on the fact that I will have a vehicle, I took time off from work and I invested time and money to drive to solon for the safety recall appointment. I would like to receive a written apology from mr ralph lombardi or whoever scheduled this appointment and wasted my time and money. And I would like to know how is this matter going to be remedied. Is there compensation for my aggravation? is there a consequence for this unprofessional business practice?.

My car did not tell me what the recall was, and it was not repaired successfully, but my main driving door could not be unlocked and locked automatically; another fault is that there is always a loud friction sound while driving, which has not been resolved for me; there is also the feeling that the lower half of the door is about to fall off, like a broken car; because of the above faults, my car was basically parked at home.
****note - missing VIN and model year**** my friend is in intensive care at the hospital and has been declared brain dead. As she was getting out of her car, her car rolled over on her in reverse crushing her heart and cutting off circulation to her brain. The rotary shift knob she believed to be in park must have been in reverse or must have malfunctioned. She is 41 and leaves behind two young daughters. Please investigate into these rotary shift knobs which need to be outlawed!!! ## VIN failed ## Range Rover ##.

I was driving down the freeway at approximately 70 mph when my sunroof exploded for no apparent reason. It sounded like a shot gun went off in my car and scared me so bad I nearly lost control of the vehicle. I literally thought I was being shot at. It took me a second to realize what had happened. I looked around and there was glass all over myself (driver), and the front seats. Most of the glass landed in my child's car seat on the rear drivers side. Thankfully he wasn't in the vehicle. This is a serious problem. I thought at first it was a rock that bounced off the glass on the sunroof, but there was not a mark on the roof of the car. I filed an insurance claim and they are repairing it this coming Saturday. In the meantime I have shut the sunroof cover to make sure glass isn't coming through the car.
While driving home yesterday my driver door flew open while going down hwy 167 south. ( I know the door was shut! it was locked when I got in the car) while driving the rest of the way home holding the driver door shut ! because it wouldn't close!( not even the soft shut door close) I got home and research for recalls or safety issues. . . There is a recall but, says it was done a year ago! but, apparently the recall part or software didn't work! I almost fell out of the SUV yesterday while driving!.
I bought a 2010 sports range roover from autobaun in san diego calif 92120. I day I took possession of it severely over heated without any safety lights coming on. We pulled over then slowly advanged the car to the dealership three miles away. At the dealership and beyond it was confirmed that the engine and the coolant system had blown and the cost of repair is $35,000. The sale man has a felong conviction for roll backs and also for drug laundering so he should not have been allowed a dealers license. Then engine is blowns trottles blown and there is some coolant sibsatance noted in the coolant system. No warning lights went on. Dealer amar sold me a warranty representing it would fix anything for two years. The warranty service said he sold me a limited warranty and that since it happened on day one and there was a mickey mouse repair of the coolant system attempted that the dealer knew about the problem. Also the fax report shows a different describtion of the vehicle them the one sitting in my driveway. Owner refuses to refund money, send me registration nor invalid warranty money. Car engine is shot. No warning lights re hot , need for service or engine light ever came on. My son's friend had only been driving the vehicle one and one half hours when he they noticed steam coming from the front of the vehcile. No check engine light came on. Nothing until the steaming. The car was being driven for the first time on the interstate at appropriately 60 mph when it started steaming. Has there been a recall of the car for no warning lights, coolant system or engine or trottle problems? I later obtained information that this car was sold as a grey color yet the car we have is white?.

Transmission not functionable, starting problem, brake problem and electrical problem. Contacted dealer and dealer denied any problems with the vehicle. I had a mechanic verify all problems noted above two days later. . Relayed the information to the dealership and nothing was resolved.

I have a Range Rover evoque 2016. When my car is facing forward on a downward slope in reverse gear, the car will roll forward. When the car is on a downward backward slope facing uphill it will roll backwards. The dealership stated that Land Rover changed the software in the 2016 vehicle which results in this issue. This issue makes the car inherently unsafe in these situations. Jaguar/Land Rover do not acknowledge this to be a fault because it was a software update and is, therefore, part of the operation of this model.
