The contact owns a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated that the radio was making a static sound and was intermittently inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the sunroof drain hole was rusted and caused water to leak internally through the sides of the vehicle and underneath the seats and the carpet, which damaged the amplifier. The dealer replaced the amplifier, drained the water out of the vehicle and installed silicone on the sunroof. The vehicle was temporarily repaired and was deemed salvaged by the insurance company due to the water damage. The contact was in the process of obtaining a salvaged title for the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. Additionally, the contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 24v840000 (steering); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. 4 Structure problem of the 2006 Land Rover Range Rover

Failure Date: 11/01/2014

The passenger side airbag on the dashboard is starting to prematurely split on top of the dashboard surface around the entire outline of the airbag. The crack has progressed in a precious outline of the cutout of the airbag. After contacting Land Rover of America on multiple occasions, they considers this as a "wear and tear" and they state this will not effect the safety of the vehicle. Note: this is a common problem that owners of the 2006-2009 models have been experiencing (per multi Land Rover website forums) that Land Rover has now redesigned the dashboard on the newer models to have the cutout of the airbag already designed into the dashboard so this type of defect will not occur. I'm very concerned with this type of design defect especially if the airbag is needed during a collision whether it will function properly and the fact that Land Rover of America is instructing its customer service representatives to advise consumers that this is a "wear and tear" issue. I would appreciate for the dot NHTSA to review my concerns and conduct an investigation with Land Rover regarding this matter on my 2006 Range Rover sport. Thank you.

6 Structure problem of the 2004 Land Rover Range Rover

Failure Date: 06/22/2009

Suspension: sound coming from the front end suspension when making turns at low speeds. Its happens mostly when slowing down to pull into a parking lot or when you hit a bump or go over railroad tracks. Had lower control arm, lower strut and lower ball joint to try fix problem but not the case still having issue. Suspension: front/rear imbalance the eas will intermittently raise the front of the car and not the rear. Could be parked-I get in and start and it will pop up-leaving the rear down so the car appears to "squat". Had height sensors replaced. The front end has over 2-3 inches greater clearance than the rear when this occurs. Suspension: rattle under vehicle when you accelerate body: passenger door cant be opened from inside or out, door lock seems to freeze/jam. Body: door seals leaking water getting in between the inner and outer seals on the rear doors. Lighting: condensation in tail lights.

7 Structure problem of the 2008 Land Rover Range Rover

Failure Date: 04/27/2008

Driving south on I-75 at 70 mph,(speed limit), and their was a high pitched sound, followed by 2 metal sounding clicks, and we pulled to the side of the interstate, however, prior tp getting off the interstate the car started shaking violently, making the most incredible loud sound, as if it was going to explode, and my husband got us into the ditch embankment, and the rangerover would not move, when the tow truck arrived, it would not back up , required us to push. From the start of the hum to the complete failure of the steering, and off road to safety was aprox. 10 seconds, and the worst 10 seconds of our life. We were towed to Jaguar/Land Rover, of ft. Myers, and the front differential and completely come apart, and needed replacing of the internal front differential assembly, front driveshaft, and frontdifferential.
