I'd like to report an incidence of manufacturer non-compliance. We've had recall number 25v-514 open since September 30, 2025. The dealership has said that they don't have a part and simply left it at that. I called Land Rover, and they also indicated that they don't have a part. They won't provide any more details. It has now been 176 days since this we received the letter. I'm sure that Land Rover knew about this problem long before the letter was sent. This is a beyond unacceptable timeframe to process this recall. They are putting the lives of consumers at risk. The letter states, "suspension arm detachment can cause a loss of vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash. " this is a safety issue and they have an obligation to fix it. This is beyond the "reasonable" timeframe to complete a recall.

I am filing a complaint regarding an unresolved safety recall on my Land Rover vehicle that has remained unrepaired for over seven (7) months. The recall was issued in or around August 2025. Since that time, I have repeatedly attempted to have the recall repair completed through an authorized dealership, Jaguar Land Rover buffalo. On March 6, 2026, at approximately 1:25 pm, I contacted the dealership at (716) 831-3100 and spoke with a service representative. I was informed they are still “waiting on instructions from Land Rover” and are unable to perform the recall repair. As of today, more than seven months have passed since the recall notice, and no repair, interim remedy, or timeline has been provided. The dealership has not offered: •a temporary repair or mitigation •a loaner or alternative transportation •any estimated timeframe for resolution this delay appears unreasonable under federal safety recall requirements and leaves a known safety defect uncorrected. Afety risk: the vehicle continues to be operated with an unresolved safety defect, increasing the risk of malfunction, accident, or injury.

Vehicle: 2021 Range Rover sport component: suspension – dynamic response / active roll control system the vehicle experienced a failure of the dynamic response / active roll control system, which is a hydraulic suspension stabilization system designed to reduce body roll and maintain vehicle stability during cornering and evasive maneuvers. Inspection by an authorized Land Rover service center confirmed that the failure was caused by severe corrosion and deterioration of the hydraulic lines supplying the dynamic response system. The corrosion caused hydraulic fluid leakage and a complete loss of hydraulic pressure, disabling the system. This failure occurred on a 2021 vehicle, and the amount of corrosion present on these hydraulic lines appears premature for a vehicle of this age. These lines are critical components of the vehicle’s stability system and would normally be expected to last significantly longer. When the dynamic response system loses hydraulic pressure, the vehicle loses an important stabilization function that helps control body roll and maintain handling stability. With the system disabled, the vehicle may experience increased body roll and reduced stability during higher-speed cornering or emergency maneuvers, which raises safety concerns. The issue was confirmed by the servicing Land Rover dealer. The dealer diagnosed hydraulic line corrosion and failure resulting in loss of system pressure. The repair is replacement of the front and rear hydraulic lines, refill and bleeding of the hydraulic system, and recalibration of the dynamic response system. The estimated repair cost is approximately $10,000. The vehicle is operated in new york state where winter road salt exposure is common. Hydraulic lines associated with a vehicle stability system should reasonably be expected to withstand normal environmental exposure, including road salt, for a longer period of time. Photographs, dealer report, repair estimate are available.

On February/12/2026 I was slowing down normally in a 25mph zone to stop at a red light and just before the moment that my vehicle actually came to a stop I heard a loud breaking sound coming from the front and I felt my vehicle's nose dip down on the passenger side. It was obvious that something major broke so I did not proceed or attempt to drive from that point. I turned on my 4 way flashers and a few angry drivers at the same light expressed their displeasure with me for not proceeding when the light turned green by using finger signals as they drove around me. One passerby in the lane to my right told me that my wheel had come off! the police showed up a few minutes later and they called for a recovery truck. While waiting for the tow truck my husband arrived and he looked at the damage. The damage was an obvious failure of a major suspension / steering component as you could see that the top part of the steering knuckle had broken away from the suspension and the tire was laying out at a 45+ degree angle. Also while waiting for the tow truck I looked up to see if there are any recalls on my vehicle was horrified to learn that there is a major recall for the steering knuckle on my car. I have not received a recall letter or a notification about this serious safety issue which is almost as scary as the thought of this failure happening at highway speeds! after dragging my vehicle on to the flatbed I had the driver tow my vehicle directly to the dealership where I purchased my vehicle when new. >front passenger steering knuckle break away failure. My vehicle is not repaired at this time so it is available for inspection at the dealership of origin. >everyone on the road including myself was at risk if this failure happened at normal highway speed because my car would have been uncontrollable! >has not been inspected at this time as this just happened. >there were no symptoms, drive-ability issues, or warning lights or any indication until the moment of failure!.
Per a factory recall — ntsb has ordered the following recall; manufacturer recall number d027 NHTSA recall number 25v-514 recall status recall incomplete, remedy not yet available summary a concern has been identified on certain 2014 and all 2015 to 2017 modelyear Range Rover (l405) and Range Rover sport (l494) vehicles where thefront suspension upper knuckle joint could develop a crack. In extremecases this may lead to detachment of the upper suspension arm. Safety risk in extreme cases where a crack in the front suspension knuckle has developed, this may lead to detachment of the upper suspension arm, which under extreme avoidance maneuver use conditions may compromise the vehicle's controllability and increase the risk of a crash. This has been identified by independent mechanics as well, as a severe safety concern. When this vehicle was taken to hennessy Land Rover of north atlanta; they advised me that “they didn’t have parts for the recall”. Although they explained to me if I paid out of pocket for the work they had the parts to do the task. Service advisor is peter alvarez. So they don’t have the parts for an ntsb recall? unless I have $6000/$7000 for a recall with a “severe safety risk”? this is absolutely incredible. These people sell $120,000 trucks and then refuse to undertake government mandated recalls. Their excuse is “we have the parts but only if you buy them”. This is totally unacceptable. I have a wife and a small child who ride in this SUV and have owned the car for 7 of its 9 years on the road. Always immaculately maintained if hennessy Land Rover (north atlanta) refuses to perform government mandated recalls they should not be doing business. Especially with “severe safety risk— I sat for four hours for them to come out and tell me this — this is my sixth Range Rover. If this is not remedied never again. [xxx] (the car was brought in by one of my assistants). Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Took my vehicle in for suspension noise and was told the front passenger side steering knuckle is cracked at the upper ball joint mount. There is a current recall for this issue for model years 2014-2017, but not for 2021 models. This issue appears to be greater than originally expected.
I am submitting this email as a formal safety defect notification regarding a front suspension knuckle cracking condition observed on my 2016 Range Rover td6, which appears to directly correspond with Land Rover recall d027. Attached are photographs of the passenger-side front suspension knuckle showing a distinct structural crack running vertically through the knuckle body at the upper control arm mounting point. The crack is continuous, visible from multiple perspectives, and is not consistent with a normal casting seam or cosmetic surface feature. According to the recall description, cracking in this location may result in loss of clamp load and potential separation of the suspension arm, posing a significant risk to vehicle control and occupant safety. The condition observed on my vehicle appears consistent with the failure mode identified by the manufacturer. I am submitting this information - document a real-world instance of the suspected defect - provide photographic evidence supporting the concern - support evaluation of recall scope and remedy effectiveness this submission is provided in the interest of vehicle safety and defect reporting. I respectfully request confirmation of receipt and inclusion of this information in your defect review records. Please advise if any additional details or documentation are required.
Good morning, some time ago Land Rover corporate made me aware of the recall about the suspension failure that can happen without warning, but to date there is no fix and apparently no parts to fix the problem so I am in need of guidance as to what to do, what recourse do I have should this fail as I am driving, etc? I do not have another vehicle to drive in the meantime and given the recall it makes me nervous as most of my driving is at highway speed as I work in multiple locations each day depending on project. What are my next steps to remedy?.
Vehicle went into a shut down and all electrical power was dead. Attempted to charge battery and battery had 13. 2 amps. Towed to dealer and they reported a software update was required. Also they later reported the battery was changed. Upon pick up, the dash reported warnings of no steering assist, no traction control and software update required. Vehicle has been back 4 times and dealer cannot resolve warning lights after two months. They have indicated it is the driver safety camera not being properly calibrated after multiple attempts and replacement of the windsheild. Vehicle continues to state a warning safety issue and not to exceed 30 miles per hour.

Recall 25v-514, they don't have a "remedy" and my vehicle started to show signs of crack appearing on steering knuckles. Local dealer won't do anything about it and because of this I am afraid of driving my vehicle. This is the vehicle I use to carry my kids, and it is the only vehicle I have. I have had to rent out of pocket a car just to take kids to school and back home.
I have tried to get the recall 25v-514 repaired at two separate lr dealerships. One in MA and one in FL no parts available and no information on when they will be available. . Call lr customer service only to be told they dont have any information on parts availability. Recieved original notification 12/18/24 second notification 9/5/25 many people affected by this safety issue and no-one knows when this will be resolved we need NHTSA help to light a fire under jlr.

Dear NHTSA safety division, please find attached my formal letter regarding an urgent safety concern related to safety recall d041 (front suspension knuckle crack) – NHTSA recall no. 25v-514, affecting my 2016 Land Rover Range Rover. It has been nearly a year since the initial recall notification, and the defect has now rendered my vehicle unsafe to drive. Despite repeated attempts to seek assistance, I have been advised there is still no remedy available, nor has Jaguar Land Rover provided a temporary vehicle or interim repair. Given the severity of this issue and the growing safety risk to my family, I am urgently requesting NHTSA’s intervention and guidance. - attached: urgent_safety_concern_letter_demetrius_strong. Pdf thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. Please confirm receipt of this correspondence at your earliest convenience. Sincerely, [xxx] [xxx] [xxx] email: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Ljr is taking too long to order the replacement, meanwhile these vehicles are on the road and dangerous.
This is related to the repairs, not from an incident. Land rover does not have a fix for the defective part, they are replacing with a new, yet old design part. Ok, but they are requiring the owners to pay for the parts and labor to replace until such a time that a newly designed part is available. According to them, at that time they will replace free of charge and refund the amount required today. Yet, they have not timetable for above. That is unacceptable.
I received a notice regarding NHTSA recall 25v-514 and despite repeated attempts to get the problem fixed, I have repeatedly been told that no solution is available. I am fearful that a failure of the knuckle joint will cause a severe incident resulting in injury or death.
The contact owns a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v514000 (steering); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the message, "suspension fault," was displayed. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was 116,000.
Passenger side front suspension knuckle has cracks.
We have had a serious open suspension recall (NHTSA #24v-840 / Land Rover recall n759) on our 2016 Range Rover for nearly a year now, and still no remedy is available. The recall was issued on November 7, 2024, for a known defect involving the front suspension upper knuckle, which may crack and detach, leading to potential loss of control. Land rover has acknowledged the danger but continues to delay offering a fix. We received a notice about the recall, but since then have only seen “remedy not yet available” when checking status. We’ve contacted Land Rover directly, but they offer no solution or timeline — just that we have to wait. This is not just a safety concern but is also significantly impacting us financially. We were planning to list this vehicle on turo for supplemental income, but cannot do so while there is an open recall with no fix in place. The recall is also damaging our ability to sell or trade in the vehicle, as no dealer or platform wants a car with a long-standing unresolved safety defect. We are frustrated, feel ignored, and have no confidence in Land Rover’s commitment to resolving this issue. A safety recall that’s been known for months without resolution is completely unacceptable. We are requesting that NHTSA investigate and require the manufacturer to provide either a fix or an alternative solution.
The contact owns a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 24v840000 (steering); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that after accelerating from being parked, the check engine warning light and a red explanation sign were illuminated. The message that the vehicle was in restricted mode was displayed on the instrument panel and the contact continued to drive approximately 25 mph, causing the vehicle to go into limp mode. The messages “suspension fault - stop safely”, and “stop engine” were displayed on the instrument panel. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home, but the vehicle failed to exceed 5 mph. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that there was no recall related to the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer advised that the contact get a rental and later provide receipts for reimbursement. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
While driving at approximately 20 mph, the front passenger control arm broke causing it to separate from the upper knuckle. This put my wife and other bystanders in harms way and could have caused an accident and or injuries. No warning signs or alarms. There is a Land Rover recall for this issue, but none are available for this model. This should be considered and included in the recall, since this a potential hazard and manufacturer defect.
Steering and breaking while driving at speeds 55-60 mph my car would shake when I applied the breaks to slow down. My safety and the safety of other were put at risk daily as I drove my car. Yes, I drove my car into Land Rover in richfield, mn and told the service advisor the problem I was having. With the last 30 days every time while driving at speeds of 55- 60 mph as I would apply the breaks to slow down the steering and car would begin to shake. Yes, I took my car into Land Rover in richfield, mn to be inspected. There were no warning lights on my dashboard to indicate that there we any problems with my car.
The contact owns a 2021 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, and the contact heard an abnormal knocking sound. The contact stated that the knocking sound was getting louder and louder. The contact stated that the failure occurred while turning. The contact stated that an unknown warning light was illuminated and independently turned off. In addition, the contact stated the sound was like the vehicle was falling apart. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed front driver's side control arm and lower rear guard. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced an unknown recall; however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000. The VIN was unavailable.
I am the owner of a 2017 Land Rover Range Rover (VIN: [xxx] ). I recently discovered a crack in the front steering knuckle of my vehicle, which I believe poses a significant safety risk. This type of failure could result in a sudden loss of control, especially at higher speeds or during turns, potentially leading to a serious accident. I am aware that Land Rover issued a recall (NHTSA campaign number 24v-840) for a similar defect in the front suspension knuckle affecting 2014–2016 models, but my 2017 model is not currently included in this recall—even though the issue appears identical. Given the nature of the failure and its similarity to the existing recall, I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the recall should be expanded to include additional model years. I am concerned that other vehicles like mine may be at risk without the owners being aware of this potentially dangerous defect. Please investigate this matter for the safety of current and future drivers. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
“gearbox fault” error popped on dash. Vehicle stopped changing gears while driving. Went into limp mode. Toward to Land Rover dealership. Technician states that there is a fault inside the tcm module within the transmission. Which caused the transmission to fail.

The front steering knuckle on the passenger side broke causing the wheel to detach. There was loss of control of the car however I was in town and the speed was below 25 mph. Thankfully the vehicle was stopped before anyone was hurt. I had an independent service center examine the SUV and found the knuckle to be broken. The vehicle is available for inspection. There were no warning lights prior to the accident. The SUV is serviced during a yearly inspection per state requirements with the last appointment at Range Rover in December. There were no warnings to alert myself (owner) or the dealership when inspected on a regular basis. If the knuckle would have broken five minutes prior, I would have been in a serious car accident as I was traveling 65 mph on the highway.
My 2016 Range Rover has been identified in a recall for knuckle which may crack without warning leading to catastrophic failure of the vehicle which could result in injury or death of passengers. I learned of the recall in December of 2024 at which time I discontinued driving the vehicle and contacted Land Rover rocklin to request replacement of the recalled parts. In acknowledgement of the fact that this vehicle is unsafe to drive until replacement parts can be installed, Land Rover rocklin provided an avis rental car. On March 5 I was notified that Land Rover corporate might not agree to reimburse the dealer for rental expenses while I wait for the defective/recalled parts to be replaced so I was asked to trade in the rental car for a loaner vehicle from the dealership. I agreed to make this exchange. While en route to complete this vehicle exchange I was told by Land Rover rocklin that I would need to return the rental vehicle to avis and that they would not be providing me with a dealership loaner car per our original agreement. They further instructed me to collect and drive home my unrepaired, vehicle which had been established for the last two months it sat I their shop as "unsafe to drive. " I refused this arrangement and told the dealer they needed to fulfill their agreement with me by providing me with a safe vehicle to drive while I wait for the repairs to be completed according to the recall. I contacted Land Rover corporate to complain that my vehicle had been unavailable for nearly three months because it was deemed unsafe to drive and to complain that corporate is not taking care of its customers by providing reimbursement to dealers to ensure affected Range Rover owners have safe transportation until the recall repair work is completed. Land rover stated they have no obligation to provide safe vehicles for affected owners and they are recommending owners drive their unrepaired vehicles despite catastrophic failure risk. Unacceptable.
The right front suspension upper knuckle joint cracked. The left knuckle didn't crack, but was not in good working order.
Front wheel knuckle failure. I received an email last year on a recall for specific vins for this failure and my VIN does not apply within the specific years of 2014-2016. I have a 2014 l405 Land Rover and am very concerned of this failure. I would like this complaint filed and Land Rover to replace these knuckles before someone dies or is seriously injured.

While driving the vehicle in early February, I experienced a severe stability issue that caused the vehicle to nearly roll over while turning. The vehicle has since developed extreme wobbling, bouncing from left to right, especially when braking or turning. A loud crackling noise is present when making right turns. These symptoms are visibly apparent from outside the vehicle and severely affect steering and handling. I was transporting my wife in labor at the time of the near-rollover. We now have a newborn, and this vehicle poses a serious risk to my family's safety. The problem has been confirmed by both an independent technician and a Land Rover dealership. The dealership verified that the vehicle is subject to active safety recall n759, but no repair or remedy is available. Despite this, I was pressured to retrieve the vehicle, which I have done, but I refuse to drive it due to safety concerns. The vehicle is parked and available for inspection. Additional misconduct occurred at the dealership: I was threatened with storage charges and told the loaner vehicle I was issued would be reported stolen. The dealership charged my credit card $300 without authorization, despite the loaner agreement not permitting this under the circumstances. I was given no written notice or valid justification for these threats and charges. I believe I was targeted with discriminatory and biased treatment throughout this process. At no point was I offered a safe alternative or any definitive guidance. The manufacturer and the dealer have both failed to take responsibility, leaving my family vulnerable. I have documented all communication and behavior related to this case and am reporting this as a matter of safety, ethics, and federal recall mishandling.
The front suspension knuckle on my 2016 Range Rover developed a visible crack, which caused severe play in the steering and made the vehicle unsafe to drive. On even small bumps, the vehicle would suddenly and forcefully pull into other lanes, creating a serious hazard. My safety, my [xxx] child’s safety, and the safety of others on the road were clearly at risk. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Land Rover dealership on January 30, 2025, where the issue was diagnosed and confirmed. I was advised not to drive the vehicle due to the danger, and it has remained parked at the dealership since that day. This issue is part of an open safety recall, but there has been no repair, no replacement part, and no loaner or rental vehicle provided to date. The vehicle has been out of service for nearly five months. There were no dashboard warning lights related to the steering, but I did receive a suspension system error message before the diagnosis. Steering instability continued to worsen leading up to the appointment. The dealership inspected and documented the cracked knuckle, and the defective part remains in the vehicle, available for inspection if needed. I am submitting this complaint due to the extended delay in addressing a known safety defect, the lack of support from the manufacturer, and the serious danger this failure presents to drivers and others on the road. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2015 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal knocking sound coming from the front end of the vehicle. The service vehicle warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle however, the cause of the failure was not provided. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 24v840000 (steering); the VIN was included, but parts were not yet available. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,000.
Front steering knuckle was cracked, Land Rover hadn’t notified me of any issues. I found the recall online, nearest dealer is 4-5 hours away. Was afraid to drive with cracked part. I replaced steering knuckle on my own out of pocket to keep vehicle safe. Vehicle was not in any accident or injuries. Defect found and fixed before anything could happen. Called Land Rover and they said no resolution for fix and when there was I would receive a letter on how to get it repaired or get reimbursed for repairs I had done to fix. Recall was issued in November of 2024, now August of 2025 still no info from Land Rover and dealer I have been in touch with still has no information either. I purchased parts in mid December of 2024 and had a local repair shop install it on 1-14-2025. Old part was retained as instructed by dealer I have been working with. From my findings in several forums that have members in other countries, they have issued the same recall in europe and canada and most vehicles were repaired by being taken into the dealer. Dealer I have been in contact with reported back to me that they had no parts to repair and advised me to get fixed on my own for now.
My Land Rover, Range Rover has a confirmed cracked knuckle but dealership is unwilling to fix it.
Upper control knuckle cracks despite the vehicle never being off-road. The part number is the same 9n3 part of a selective recall but jlr refuse to include some VIN numbers like mine in the recall. This could result in lost of life. How can one part be at fault and at the center of a recall and the same part being deemed perfect or acceptable on the same vehicles with same year of manufacturing or assembly plan.
