As I was backing out my driveway I heard a loud pop noise and then noticed that my front drivers side tire has collapsed making the car un-driveable. Had I been driving at high speed it could have resulted in a dangerous life threatening situation. It was towed to the dealer for inspection. There I was told that Range Rover in canada and the uk had been recalled for the same malfunction. My Range Rover has only been service by an authorized dealer and was at low mileage for the year of the car. Never had anyone who inspected or did work on the car saw any evidence that something was ready to break. It has since been repaired at a cost of $8031. 68. I reported to Land Rover north America they have declined to recognize any fault on their end and did not provide any assistance for the repair when they have seen this in other countries on my same model and year. Here is the canadian recall #n759 for steering knuckle collapsed.

When curving left, driving 50mph, the slightest bump, such as a lane marker makes the front passenger wheel bounce independently from the other three tires and makes the steering wheel shake. It's possible to lose control. The problem has been identified as a control arm. I have had this problem repaired 3 times. Why does this keep happening, specifically to that side? repairs took place in 2016, 2018, 2024.

Multiple safety concerns: 1)the vehicles emergency braking system engaged twice, suddenly, and in busy traffic/highway situations. Now told break pads and rotors are worn and rusted badly-unusually soon for a newly purchased car-less than a year old. The austin Jaguar Land Rover dealership’s service person told me “most clients are replacing at 9,500 miles. ” if this is truly the case, then why would my sensor warning system not alert me sooner? 2) the vehicle engine coolant light keeps coming on. Dealer told me to “top it off. ” I check weekly and have to refill the coolant tank-now worried vehicle has faulted hoses or radiator and will overheat & catch on fire. There are a high number of owners of this vehicle brand, make, and model that are inquiring online about these safety concerns. Please investigate. Looking forward to a response.

Iam writing to express my deep concern regarding safety recall n759v2 issued for 2014-2016 Range Rover l405 vehicles in the united kingdom and canada. It has come to my attention that this safety recall has not yet been formally announced for the same vehicles in the united states. I am the owner of a 2015 Range Rover hse, with the VIN: salgs2vf8fa227420. As a responsible vehicle owner, I prioritize the safety and well-being of myself, my passengers, my children, and fellow road users. The lack of a safety recall announcement for the same vehicles in the united states has raised concerns about the safety of my vehicle. Given the seriousness of safety recalls and their potential impact on public safety, I have contacted Jaguar Land Rover north America, llc to issue a recall in the USA to conduct a thorough inspection of my vehicle to ensure it meets the required safety standards. I believe it is crucial to take proactive steps to address any potential safety issues promptly and to ensure the safety of all individuals on the road. My attempts to contact jlr have been unsuccessful despite a number of USA based vehicles falling in the VIN range having failed steering knuckles. I would appreciate it if you could schedule an inspection at the soonest available date and communicate the details to me. Additionally, if any safety-related concerns are identified during the inspection, I request that appropriate actions be taken to rectify them in compliance with the highest safety standards. I am including comprehensive details about the safety-related recall to elaborate further on this matter. . Read more...

The 2020 Range Rover, under warranty with 33,200 miles, has been inspected by the insurance and determined to be a total loss due to an electrical failure that caused the SUV to catch fire. The driver and a 4 year old were in the vehicle when the electrical failure started. The fire was behind the child seat, on the rear right hand seat, in the trunk compartment. The risk of serious bodily injury or death to a 4 year old and a female adult passenger was imminent. On may 23, 2023, departed my residence in san diego, CA in my 2020 Land Rover Range Rover (hereafter referred to as lrrr) at approx 8:30 am with my 4 year old son, seated, buckled and secured in his car seat, positioned in the rear passenger side of the lrrr, enroute to his preschool, located at the schwartz federal building in san diego, CA 92101. It is an approximate 12-15 minute drive and 7 miles one direction on both surface streets and highways. The weather was cloudy approximately 65 degrees f, clear visibility on the road and dry. Approx 10 minutes into the drive, we were traveling southbound on interstate 15 and transitioning to highway 94 westbound we smelled something “funny” which at the time I could best describe as burning celery. As I was driving in moderate morning commuter traffic, I lowered the windows and we still smelled the odor, I raised the windows and still smelled the odor and then again lowered the windows with no change and no ability to determine if the odor was internal or external. There were no warning lights/indicators illuminated on the lrrr dash or alarm sounds. At approximately 8:45 am, I parked the lrrr on a public street, parallel to curbside in the area of 904 state street, san diego, CA 92101, exited the vehicle, unloaded my son and left to complete preschool drop off. Upon my return and with the lrrr in sight, I realized the windows were dark/fogged and noticed the interior of the SUV on fire. San diego fire department arrived along with sdpd.

Front right knuckle cracked and separated from upper control arm ball joint causing front lower control arm ball joints to fail and inner cv axle joint to separate and also cause damage to air spring. The part failure occurred while I was driving and the vehicle lost all control. I feared greatly for my safety and if I were on a highway, I could've crashed into other vehicles. The manufacturer has recall campaigns for this exact issue in the uk and canada, but not the us. The vehicle was repaired at a manufacturer dealer at my expense. The manufacturer is aware of the problem with my vehicle. There were no warning lights or signs whatsoever. The part fails without warning.
The Land Rover dealership inspecting my vehicle for routine service, found that both front spindles (right and left) had significant fatigue cracks in the metal of the front spindle assembly. The dealership stated it was a critical safety issue, and the entire front spindle assembly could break off or detach from the car while driving. The dealership will not allow the car to be driven in this condition. This vehicle has only 38,350 miles on it, and it is exclusively used for commuting between home and work. It has never been used off-road or in any improper manner. The metal (aluminum) used to forge the factory spindle assembly is defective and will prematurely crack under the weight of the vehicle and poses an immediate and potentially fatal danger to the driver and occupants.
A lot wrong with vehicle I could only choose 3 problems which is difficult.

Tl-the contact owns a 2006 Land Rover Range Rover sport. The contact stated that while driving at 50 mph, a loud humming noise was heard from the rear. The vehicle was taken to dealer where it was diagnosed that the rear differential failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. Ec.
While driving at 60 mph on the maryland 495 beltway (highway) my vehicle (steering wheel, body of vehicle, myself, etc. ) just started shaking violently and extremely hard to control. I was horrified and at the same time I had to look out for other vehicles on all sides while I slowed down to 45 mph. Now, down the road and with very light traffic near, I started increasing my speed to 55-60 to see what was wrong and around 60 mph the violent shaking started. I reduced the speed to 45 mph. While trying to diagnose, I started to increase my speed and at 55 mph I hit a bump in the road and it started shaking violently again. I've taken my vehicle to the rr dealer several times for service and explained the problem at those speeds and was told, I just needed an alignment. Needless to say that was not solution. I conducted research online and saw that there were other rr folks with the same complaint. Following their lead, I purchased and replaced the drag link and track rod & stabilizer shock. Just a temporary fix, because I have the same violent shaking problem at 55-60 mph and going over bumps at that speed. Most of my driving is through city streets and not on the maryland 495 beltway. It's been close to 2 years and I no longer take the beltway because I have to drive in the slow lane and set my cruise control at 50 to avoid the violent shaking. Nobody at either rr dealer I called or visited seems to know what the problem is. I hope this issue can be reviewed ASAP. Thank you for your time and attention!.

The failure mileage was 45,000.
I purchased my new veh in may of 2014. From that time until November, my veh drove/shifted smooth. I took my veh in for its 1st service on Nov. 25th, 2014 and at that time they performed a tcm software update. Since leaving with my veh, I noticed it drove completely different. It shifted hard, clunked into gear & no longer drives like a premium, new vehicle. I advised my service advisor scott a few days later. At that time he scheduled an apt to bring in & check it out. I arrived for my apt on Dec 16th, had the service advisor drive with me so I could show him what I was experiencing. The next day I received a phone call that my veh was "ready to be picked up". I asked "does that mean it is fixed?" he replied, "at this time, we & Land Rover are aware of your concern, but unfortunately, there is no remedy/fix at this time. " they told me they would contact me when there was a known fix/repair. I picked my veh up, & since then, it drives even worse. I explained to the service dept that even though they say it is "safe to drive", that I do no feel safe driving it. In the mornings, the shifts are so violent that I feel like I am doing further damage to my drivetrain/suspension components. I have reached out to Land Rover north America (rep: matt: 800. 452. 4827 ext. 1309020) several times, he states the same thing, "Land Rover is aware of the transmission problem, but there is no known fix at this time". In my opinion, this vehicle is classified as a "lemon" because I cannot operate it with my children in the car & feel safe, & the dealership/car manufacturer does not have a remedy/fix nor can they tell me when it will be available. (I have been dealing with this issue now for almost 2 months & think the time frame I have been patiently waiting for is more than reasonable, which is why I am proceeding now with further action). Thank you for your time!.
Started hearing rubbing sound while driving and gets louder when picking up speed, also thumping sound when stepping on gas pedal. Took it to auto mechanic and was told I need a new differential assembly for front.
The contact owns a 2008 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated that the suspension control indicator illuminated on the instrument panel and the chime activated indicating the failure. The contact did not experience any steering difficulties. The failure recurred on a daily basis. The manufacturer was contacted and did not provide a remedy. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the suspension compressor and accumulator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 65,000 and the current mileage was 70,000. Updated 08/12/lj.
While vehicle is operating, the air suspension, abs, brake, hdc warnings lights come on and vehicle locks front right break by itself without any brake being applied, when is wet or ice on the road, the vehicle slides towards the right. I contacted Land Rover customer service number to report the problems that I am having with the vehicle as this is extremely dangerous specially during the winter months, and was told that my vehicle VIN number does not appear as part of the recall for bad yaw rate sensors on their database. I know now from what I have read online, that this a mayor situation with many Land Rover owners, but the automaker refuses to acknowledge the problem, what are they waiting for, for people to die due to this deffective yaw rate sensors? I hope that you can do something for all Land Rover owners and finally get Land Rover to acknowledge the problem and correctly address them.

In October 2013 while I took my car to a private garage for oil change. The mechanic noticed that the frame on my vehicle was rotted out . He called me into the garage and showed me the problem. I immediately called the Land Rover dealership were the car was purchased new and they have been doing the service on the vehicle since it was new . I informed the service manager of the issue and I questioned the fact that no one at the dealership ever mentioned the rust issue on my vehicle. The service manager asked me to drive up to the dealership so they can take a look at it. Once at the dealership the service manager put up the car on the lift and was shocked to see how bad things were. He took pictures of the frame and contacted Land Rover main office and sent them the pictures. Land rover main office contacted me and told me that they have never seen anything like this before but they made the decision not to cover fixing the problem although it is a safety issue . My concern is that one day this car is going to break in half and a major accident would occur because of it. I really need your help.

The Range Rover is equipped with electronic cross linked air suspension (with variable ride height). Variable height suspension system switches from low to high on its own and creates a greater risk for roll over. When the car is operating on the high mode, without the driver being aware because it switches on it's own, it means that the car is in gear for off road and puts road turns more dangerous, with high possibility of a roll over. The vehicle on a normal turn around 20 miles an hour speed almost lost control due to system switching to higher suspension setting on its own without my control.
Driving at 35 mph on a slightly slope blvd. The 2004 Range Rover experience a sudden lack of control by driver. Immediately felt Range Rover weave slightly out of control and rear end dipping downward. The driver had to react quickly to compensate and regain control to continue driving safely. Immediately contacted (other-foreign) repair shop and drove 5 minutes to shop. Shop ase tech diagnosis problem as abs control module failed. Reason for spontaneous air suspension lifts to vehicle when sitting in traffic. Tech notes: failure with air suspension will cause vehicle to lean (off balance) and may create hazardous driving conditions. Abs control module cost to repair $2,000. - $2,500 further diagnostic needed to determine possible other related issues to spontaneous air suspension lifting. If found leakage of suspension airbags, each air bag approximately $600 each on rear suspension. Owners feels this is an obvious and well known problem with Range Rovers (and other landrover models) which the manufacturer is ignoring. Owner feel manufacturer continuance to not addressing the issue may cause grave inquiry if and when suspension fails while driving.

Tl-the contact owns a 1994 Land Rover Range Rover. The contact stated that the vehicle front end made a loud grinding noise while driving at 55mph. The contact was able to drive the vehicle onto the road shoulder and in a matter of moments the front wheels locked. The vehicle was towed to the dealer inspected the vehicle and found the front end differential broke due to defective material and caused the front wheels to lock. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 110,000. Li.

Purchased a 2005 lr3 in 2009 suspension fell in 2010 every since I've had issues with the hcd inactive switch. Hcd inactive was coming on prior to suspension falling and continues to as of 11/11. Abs light and airbag light also turns on anytime throughout the day and shuts off. Before the suspension fell I constantly paid dealer to diagnose and they did not find any problem with the suspension. . Shortly after while I was driving the suspension fell. As of 11/11 my abs, hcd inactive lights keep turning on, the dashboard including radio lights blink on/off. Past two weeks while driving the car slows down and the steering wheel locks in place. Mechanic cannot find electrical issues. Mechanic did find my rear inner tires are bald and dangerous. After reviewing various rr complaints it is beyond my understanding why rr are able to continue to sell $60,000 trucks without any form of legal action. The company and public are aware of the faulty issues, the issues are dangerous and all common suspensions falling, bald inner tires, gas leaks. The question raised are these sites, consumer complaints etc for customers to vent or for action to take place?? 2 years and I'm on my second set of tires!! people are busted for selling fake products such as purses, clothes, but rr is looked over for knowingly manufac. , dangerous vehicles.
I have a 2007 supercharge Range Rover. In two years the car has had suspension problems requiring prolonged service to fix it.

Car shake, vibrate and with strong pull towards either right side or left side. Simultaneously, there appears to be an intermittent loss of power and vehicle will not respond to gas pedal.
I have a 2003, Range Rover hse. The air suspension inactive warning light illuminated and the wheels shook. I took the vehicle in (12/29/08). They could not find the problem and suggested an alignment. I got the alignment and they cleared the warning light (1/2/09). I left and noticed the vehicle still felt out of aligned. Later the warning light (air suspension inactive) came on once again (1/15/09). This time the left front wheel failed to raise up. I brought the vehicle back in. This time they told me the air suspension was leaking and needed to be replaced. It cost me $2900 (1/22/09). I took the vehicle home and noticed the vehicle wheels still shook. I reported the problem but refused to bring the vehicle back in. Recently, the warning light (air suspension inactive) illuminated once again and none of the wheels would raise (2/22/09). I had the vehicle checked again and was told it was never aligned and the wheels were not balanced. I had the vehicle aligned and the wheels balanced. The vehicle is again out of alignment and the wheels shake. I do not want to get ripped off again, so the vehicle remains in my garage.
Less than a year ago, on my 04 rr, I received an message across my odometer saying "air suspension inactive" took it to the dealer on 2-1-2008, the dealer charged me $50 to "cleared the codes" and they could not find anything else wrong with it. Fast-forward to 1-15-2009, I received the same message again, took it back to the dealership, this time they mention I needed a new compressor, which will cost me $1550. Very interesting, when I took it in while my vehicle was still under warranty they couldn't identified the issue from several visit I have made in the past concerning this issue, now my vehicle is no longer under warranty, this miracle fix just pop up. Very disappointed with this dealership and landrover, to have such a long company tradition and a reputable name, but times like this, they would not step up and be accountable.
All Range Rovers from 2003-2005 have a full air ride suspension that supports the vehicle on all four corners. The concern is that the airbag that supports the front of the vehicle, ruptures and throws the vehicle off balance while cornering causes a loss of control of the vehicle. When the air suspension fails it also deactivates the anti-lock brakes making the vehicle unsafe to drive because of a lack of abs control. This is a problem that Land Rover is aware of and are not making any attempt to address. This is a $1200. 00-$1500. 00 repair for one side (left or right) not both front air bags that support the front of the vehicle. If this concerned is researched you will be amazed at the number of repairs that are done and paid for by Range Rover owners, because this safety issue is not reported or addressed. I am experiencing this issue now.
The contact owns a 2006 Land Rover. The contact states that when driving the vehicle 55mph on the freeway the vehicle started going slow and then felt the suspension drop to the ground . All the lights iiluminated and the vehicle went to the side. They had told her that her suspension had a big defect. The dealer told her to call the insurance so that it will not be reported as a defect from the manufacture. The failure and current mileage was 23000.
