The suspension system failed. I saw an car icon with two arrows on each side pointing down in orange color, indicating a problem with the suspension, and then it felt like the car went down like a low-rider would. It was at night, my wife was driving and it was very scary since we didn't know what had just happened. We drove it about four miles back home and we felt every bump on the road and the tires were hitting the tire-well. Car still low to the ground if anyone wants to check it out. This happened on August 6th, 2025, we didn't take it to a dealership or mechanic because I don't think it's safe to drive so low to the ground. We foud through you tube that people have been comcomplaining about this issue for years now and nobody as done anything about this problem. I personally think it's a factory defect. There are too many cars having the same issue, if it's not the compressor then it's the air reservoir or a leakage in the supplying lines or the air valve or even the height sensors "it's a faulty system" and there should be a recall to fix it.

Steering knuckle on the driver and passenger side of my vehicle are cracked. Defects have been confirmed by jaguarlandrover vancouver in british columbia. I called jlr in lynnwood, wa and bellevue, wa as well as jlr north America and have been told the fix has not yet been determined. The fix is to replace the broken parts, this isn't hard to figure out. Now I'm going to have to pay to get this fixed and cross my fingers I get properly reimbursed.

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a prolonged and troubling service experience at Jaguar Land Rover buckhead, related to my 2018 Range Rover Sport (approximately 49,000 miles), and to express dissatisfaction with the handling of a prior related incident. My vehicle has been the dealership approx. 2 weeks with no loaner and me missing days from work and not able to transport my children to school. For past context, in 2023, I experienced a faulty ground stud issue that left me stranded on the highway during my morning commute. I later learned this exact issue had been subject to a recall on the discovery model — but not on mine — despite identical symptoms. As a result, I was issued a $675 owner loyalty certificate (olc) by molly b. Of Land Rover USA, which I appreciated, but which I believe did not fully compensate for the risk and inconvenience caused. Recently, I returned to the another dealer, Jaguar Land Rover buckhead, in may 2025 for a new issue. I was told there was a broken exhaust bolt that delayed repairs. I specifically asked the service advisor if I was responsible for the bolt breaking during service and was told I was not, though it was framed as a “common issue” across many vehicles. I respectfully disagreed, noting I’ve owned multiple vehicles with higher mileage and never encountered such a failure. I also suggested that if this is so common, it may reflect a design flaw that Land Rover should address. Additionally, I was misled by the service advisor, cole eidson, who sent me a message on Tuesday, may 28th, stating the bolt was already removed and the exhaust installation was underway. I later discovered this was not true, and that the bolt had not yet been extracted at the time of that message. This misrepresentation caused unnecessary confusion, delay, and loss of trust. This pattern — first with the unresolved ground stud failure, then with misinformation about repairs and unexplained delays — leaves me deeply disappointed with.

Both left and right aluminum uprights or commonly referred to as “knuckles” are cracked. This can cause an immediate loss of control at speed and also take out the cars around you. This is a very serious problem. Apparently, other models years have previously been recalled. But the 2017 model year has not. Clearly the same issue and the cracks are in the same place. There are no warning signs of such cracking in the upright. But when it fails, it will render the driver useless until inertia takes over!.
I was having suspension problems when I purchased the vehicle. Took into Land Rover proformed a suspension evaluation they made recommendations on what should be fixed I proformed the repairs but when I accelerated a hard knocking on the left side of the vehicle still happened I found a video on youtube about the staring knuckles failing on my 2014 and decided to check to see if mine had the problem I cleaned both staring knuckles and found the beginning of fracture cracks on both. I called Land Rover they said there were no recalls for my vehicle and I called corporate they said I need to bring it in for an inspection and there were no recalls for my vehicle. I will bring it in for inspection. But wanted to make NHTSA aware it's happening to my vehicle as well.

Both front knuckles found to have cracks in the aluminum casting where the upper control arm mounts to the knuckles. Failure of this portion of the knuckle will result in complete loss of control of the car. This problem is well documented in other l494 and l405 range rovers with recalls currently active in other countries where these car were sold. The components have not been inspected by 3rd party as of yet due to safety concerns with transporting the vehicle to locations. No warning lamps or noises were present as there is no way for the vehicle to detect this failure which only occurs catastrophically without warning. Photos attached are of both knuckles with cracks.

The contact owns a 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the front end of the vehicle was shaking with a knocking sound coming from the driver’s and passenger’s side front wheels. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic who diagnosed that the upper front suspension knuckle joint had fractured on the driver’s and passenger’s side. The mechanic informed the contact of NHTSA campaign number: 24v840000 (steering); and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer had been made aware of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.
Both the right and left suspension knuckles were cracked. This represented a potentially very dangerous situation if either knuckle had broken at high speed.
My car has manufacturer defect / crack on steering knuckle. There has been recall in uk and canada. Why not in states? driving with crack / defect in steering knuckle is extremely dangerous. It has been proven that this has caused by over tightening the nut bolt. There are so many Land Rovers have this reported issues. Here is link: [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Subject: recall complaint – complaint no. 24v840000 / Land Rover recall n759 vehicle information: 2015 Land Rover Range Rover Sport issue description: I discovered a crack in the passenger-side steering knuckle of my vehicle, caused by a manufacturing defect where the bolt was over-torqued. This defect risks catastrophic steering failure, potentially leading to a severe accident. While this issue is part of a recall in canada and similar recalls for other Land Rover models (discovery sport, evoque) exist in the u. S. , my vehicle has not been included in the u. S. Recall. Service attempt: Land Rover of huntington refused to honor the recall, citing my VIN’s exclusion, and quoted over $9,000 for repairs. I escalated the issue to rey rodriguez, an executive specialist with Land Rover north America, but was told: "you have reached the highest level within Land Rover north America. . . Your VIN is not part of the recall, and no further reconsideration will occur. " safety concern: this defect can go unnoticed, putting drivers at risk of steering failure and fatal accidents. Land rover's refusal to address this known safety issue endangers consumers. Request: I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter and include the 2015 Range Rover Sport in the recall to ensure driver safety. Attachments: supporting documents are provided.
Component/system failure: the issue pertains to a timing chain failure malfunction, which has led to the disablement of the vehicle while driving. Yes, the affected component is available for inspection upon request. Based on additional information received this timing chain failure issue was raised and settled in a class action lawsuit that Jaguar agreed to pay for lessees of these models that all had a timing chain failure issue but the issues were not resolved with this vehicle. Safety concerns: the failure occurred while driving on highway 495, and the potential consequences could have been catastrophic. The vehicle's abrupt disablement in the middle of rush hour traffic in washington d. C. Posed an imminent risk of a near-fatal accident. A highway patrol officer had to intervene to redirect traffic and prevent other vehicles from crashing into the lane. This incident not only endangered the driver but also jeopardized the safety of countless other drivers on the road. It's crucial to highlight that such a failure could have been avoided with proper maintenance and early detection of the timing chain issue. The malfunction of the timing chain indeed poses risks, not only to your safety but potentially to others on the road as well. When crucial components fail unexpectedly, it can lead to hazardous situations such as sudden loss of power or control, increasing the likelihood of accidents. Confirmation by service centers: the problem has been diagnosed and confirmed by either a dealer or an independent service center. They have likely conducted thorough inspections to identify the root cause of the issue. Inspections: the vehicle or the faulty component was inspected at autotech DC by various parties. These inspections are crucial for gathering information and documenting the extent of the problem. It has now been towed to Land Rover bethesda for review and inspection and diagnosis of the issue. Additionally, this vehicle has a suspension fault.

1. The central control display of the vehicle is often black and the map cannot be viewed while driving, which will cause tension and panic and make driving unsafe; 2. The lane centering of the vehicle often does not work, it cannot work normally, and it directly deviates to other lanes; 3. The automatic closing function of the car door does not have the function of preventing pinching. Several of my friends have already had their fingers pinched by the car door. I tried to communicate with them, but they did not check. You just have to be careful yourself, this has taken its toll on the body multiple times and without any warning lights. All of the above situations have no warning lights, have not been inspected, their manufacturers shirk responsibility, we have email communication details, they let me sue through lawyers, and they will respond accordingly, which makes me unable to understand. They ignore customers' life safety.

My 2015 supercharged Range Rover Sport 5. 0l v8 has unexpected rhythmic body movements while stationary. One side goes up and down then the other side goes up and down. This repeats every few seconds the whole ride, obviously more noticeable when stopped. You don't know if the dynamic system is working or not. It can push your car further in to the turn when it does it on a turn. If you are used to the dynamic system you may not be prepared for this issue especially since you don't know it is not working properly. This problem is reproducible, it does it every time I start my vehicle. There were no warning signs or lights that alert you that there is even an issue. It scares people who are not expecting the jolt when riding inside. More seriously it is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen because it is a tripping hazard when getting into the vehicle or out of the vehicle. It has the chance to raise up or down the moment you go to get in or raise and lower when stepping out. This is dangerous for anyone. Especially the handicap or elderly, they can easily miscalculate the height and cause them to lose balance, considering the whole car becomes unstable at the same time. There was already a Land Rover technical bulletin posted about this possible issue with 2014-15. My car exhibits this exact problem. My car isn't within that VIN range. However, it's doing the same thing thats listed here, maybe there are more vehicles involved than they originally thought? I have a video to share, contact me for it since I cant share on here. This is what the Land Rover technical bulletin said: situation: a potential issue has been identified with the dynamic response valve block on certain 2014-2015 Range Rover Sport (l494) and range rover (l405) vehicles (5. 0l s/c v8 only) within the listed VIN ranges. Unexpected body movements when the vehicle is stationary may be experienced due to the system self-test pulse resulting in pressure in the actuators which is normally isolate from them.
Safety recall n623: gasoline fuel tank flange assembly cracking why is this recall not showing when I enter my VIN number here? vehicle was towed back to house November 24th, 2021 after discovering it was leaking gas all over the walmart parking lot. I have been smelling gas inside the vehicle and on the outside passenger side of the vehicle for almost 2 months! I saw no visible evidence to prompt concern until November 24th. When I called aaa to have the car towed they asked me to call 911 to clear the car from “risk of explosion” before it could be towed. I have been trying to call the Land Rover dealership to get my car in for this repair and they can’t get me in until the end of January!?! how is this acceptable!? I’ve been driving this car around like this for two months. . Possibly longer. . With my toddler! and I’m being told by aaa, my mobile mechanic and this ‘safety recall letter’ that the car is at risk of explosion!? I have the “important safety recall” letter in my hands right now that outlines my exact issue and it literally says. . “there could be liquid fuel underneath the vehicle, which in the presence of an ignition source could lead to a fire. ” this is unacceptable! I don’t have a vehicle now. I can’t work. Not working isn’t an option. Not having a reliable and safe vehicle I can count on isn’t an option. I can’t get my car in for the necessary repairs in a timely manner. I’m just stuck. There is no ideal time for this issue to arise but right before christmas!? I can’t even think of the appropriate words to communicate the level of havoc and life f**kery this is causing. I’m literally here reporting this issue because of the letter I received and now I’m infuriated this recall isn’t even listed on y’all’s website. Who sends out an “important safety recall” letter that casually mentions the car could catch on fire and then just doesn’t put the recall into full effect!? what’s my next step? attorney. What’s y’all’s?.

I'm not sure how to explain but, there's so much going on with the vehicle. I purchased the vehicle as is but, was told they did an inspection and it was cleared. I was told that the brakes was brand new because, we heard squeaking. We took the vehicle for a diagnostic test because of the brakes. We got a quote for over 6114. 00. What!! brakes, suspension, hub, wheel barren, wheel aligment. What?? I just got this vehicle August 10, 2021 and this was November when this came up. We only had the brakes done which we paid over 1,000 and we were going to do the rest at another time. We begin having problems with the brakes and vehicle shaking bad when you drive up to 60 mph. We called them, they had no loaner car until February 18, 2022. We were told it'll be safe to drive until then. Took the vehicle in and still having brake problems and now they said, we definetly need to get suspension done because, it could possibly be the hub and they want to do another diagnostics. So much wrong with vehicle. I asked about the recall because, I noticed something leaking from the back was told they will check it out but, if they don't see anything they don't have to fix it. . I told them there's a recall on it and it need to fix it but, they are refusing to fix it because, it was an as is vehicle.

I can be driving and the car will just cut off. The real danger was when I was on the freeway and I almost couldn't pull over to the side and a semi truck was behind me. That happened about 3 years ago. Also when I start the car and put it in reverse the parking brake warning light come on, that also started happening a couple years ago. The above happened again yesterday and the day before, October 9, 2021.

While driving on the interstate in good weather on flat even ground the suspension fault warning came on. Maximum speed recommended 30 mph. Pull over, stop the car, turn off the engine and investigate. Car is still at operating height, no blown air suspension components. Get back in, start the car…. No warning, suspension button on console adjusts the suspension to access height, clearance, etc… driving home it happens again. No dtc readable from my scanner, no idea if it is a sensor or bad connection.
Purchased the vehicle 07/10/2020 check engine light came on 8/17/2020 called the warranty company took it to redwood city range rover dealership 8/18 (see below invoice) paid for car rental through that time. Picked up range rover on 8/31. Check engine light came back on 9/14 (see below invoice) with gas smell took it straight to dealership got another rent a car paid for services 9/18 called carvana and spoke with alex 9/18 to let them know I only had the range rover for 2 months minus the 2 weeks the dealership had it to fix and I have been having "major" problems with the vehicle. I was told by "alex' (he would not give me the initial of his last name) apologized and said there was nothing carvana could do. He stated the dealership probably did something to the gas tubes or loosened something. I told him I wanted to speak with a manager or I am contacting the bbb and the automotive association because the problems I am having with the range rover are not "minor" these were "major" problems and faulty engine, gas, and the other repairs could have been disasterous to my children and my life had it sparked or ran hot. Alex said he would have someone contact me. He later called and sent a text a hour later asking for copies of the invoice and said the management team and maintenence is requesting it to look over. I have yet to hear anything else from carvana. During this time the vehicle have been driven on freeway, city streets, in motion, taken to the gas station. (invoices are attached).
Was in supermarket parking lot, about to put the car in park and car accelarated with full force on its own onto a fence in front of parking space.
This vehicle was sold to me with known defects by the dealer and the manufacturer. The vehicle has known repeated defects with the coolant system, low coolant warning light repeatedly coming on, radiator, repeated water pump failure, crossover pipe seeping, gear box/ gear shift failure, front suspension bottoming, unusual wearing of brakes, eco start/stop failure, repeated O2 oxygen sensor failure triggering check engine light warnings, windshield washer fluid leak behind front bumper. Manufacturer and dealership are aware of defects and perform deceptive, minimal repairs under warranty with the expectation that these defects will present bigger problems down the road after the warranty has expired and will incur cost at consumer expense and dealership/manufacturer profit. Failure of the dealership/manufacturer to repair these defects has caused engine failure in my vehicle that I have owned for 3 years. I have been in contact with manufacturer and they are stalling and delaying in providing any remedy for this matter. I have full documentation and service records since ownership of the car. Car was serviced at Land Rover dealerships. In addition, vehicle has had various recalls known to NHTSA.
To whom it may concern, my vehicle which is at 15,000 miles and about 18 months old, has been facing continuous failures on its electric and electronic components that affected the air suspension shutting down, emergency break locking up, sudden shut down of the middle main console, a shut down of safety features around mirrors and similar vehicle safety warning systems. The issues happen while driving. I took it back to my dealer several times and even the last time after service the car came back with an engine warning sign. I made multiple attempts with Land Rover to correct and stated that my family and I feel very unsafe and insecure not knowing what can break down next. When we asked if it is safe the company responded that we should make that determination without an engineering or technical background. The company also said they will take 30 business days to review our case however upon several reminders that we are not feeling safe, Land Rover opts to ignore or state that they do not have resources ie people to review these cases. I would like to enter into record that we did make many attempts to relay our concerns and if there are to be any accidents it is the fault of the company for continuously ignoring the seriousness of the case and total lack of care for passenger safety. I am writing on this venue hoping that you might be able to convince the company to pay attention to the matter.
I was driving out of whataburger on 8-2-16 and all of a sudden my brakes just went all the way down to the floor board and I stopped right before I was in traffic. My tire pressure light stays on, I have had them checked several times & the back of the truck jumps to the side if I hit a bump. All of this scares the heck out of me and I have only had this vehicle 5 months. Also the truck would start and cut off so I took it to a shop 4 times and they so called fixed it. I was told I had oil leaking into my valves. It is starting better but still some hesitation at times.
