• frequent battery replacements: my vehicle is now on its third battery within a five-year lifespan. The previous owner replaced the battery two years ago when the vehicle was only two years old, and I recently had to replace it again. • unacceptable battery lifespan: no vehicle should require a new battery every two years under normal conditions. This strongly suggests an underlying defect in the battery, charging system, or electrical components. • lack of manufacturer remedy: despite dozens, if not hundreds, of complaints from other 2020 Lexus Es 350 owners online describing the exact same issue, Lexus has not issued a recall or service bulletin to investigate or resolve the problem. • misleading battery warranty: Lexus advertises its 84-month battery warranty, but this is misleading. In reality, it only provides a full replacement for the first 24 months, while the remaining coverage period is prorated, meaning owners are still required to pay a portion of the cost after just two years. This is deceptive marketing that fails to reflect the true coverage provided. • potential safety hazard: frequent battery failures could leave drivers stranded unexpectedly, which poses a serious safety risk in various situations (e. G. , extreme weather, remote locations, or high-traffic areas). • Lexus’ partial acknowledgment of the issue: this battery issue appears to be somewhat acknowledged by Lexus because they replaced the original battery with a much larger cold cranking amps (cca) version than what comes standard in the Es 350. The factory-installed battery is rated at 640 cca, but the replacement Lexus provides is 770 cca. After researching, I found that this larger battery is typically used in the Lexus LS model, which is a much larger, more powerful vehicle requiring a bigger battery. Despite this upgrade, the replacement battery still fails within two years, indicating that there is an underlying issue causing premature battery failure beyond just battery capacity.

The dcm malfunctioning, its the sos button in the car that call Lexus personnel in case of emergency. Its stuck in a loop and keeps calling the call center every 3 minutes or so. I've had to tell them it's not me and they report the malfunction and it call the next representative and same thing. It called the call center 15 times as I was driving (extremally distracting and almost ran a red) before getting to the dealership. I've seen the same complaint on a Lexus forum to a person in florida.

I was driving down the highway coming up on a traffic jam put on the brakes and several warning. Lights came on the dash and my power brakes failed. I was barely able to stop the car without hitting someone. From that point forward the brakes did not work properly, the regenerative braking system did not function. Also, the cruise control stopped functioning. I took the car to the Lexus dealer, they tested the car and stated it need a new brake booster brake assembly and that there was a safety warranty issue that was extended out 10 years and up to 150,000 miles and although my car only had 79,000 miles on it was three months past the warranty date and the refused. They reset the car brakes apparently and I was able to drive the car for several days while I spoke with Lexus, and then the car brakes failed again.

On my 2013 Lexus Es 350, three out of the four doors do not function properly and will not lock or lock with the key fob. My driver’s side front door, my driver’s side rear door, and my passenger’s side front door does not work. The doors also will not lock or unlock with the interior lock/unlock button. When the all the doors are locked, I must go to the passenger’s rear door to unlock the driver’s side front door with my cane. The manual door lock from the key fob does not work and will break if I continue turning it. The door locks will not automatically lock when the car goes in motion. These are safety issues trying to get a child or pet out of the car in case of an emergency such as a fire, an accident, or robbery. The power locks are extremely helpful for me. I am a combat disabled veteran who runs the risk of reinjuring myself using the only door that works attempting to open the door with my cane. I have had some of these power locks replaced before. Lexus says this is a mechanical issue associated with the actuators rather than a safety issue. I really believe this is a serious safety and security issue rather than a mechanical issue.
The first incident occurred sometime in late June/early July. . . Indicator lights mentioned below came on and I cleaned off sensors and indicator lamps disappeared on this occurrence. On July 13 2022, I was driving on a busy local road when the following malfunction indicators were displayed: brake system warning, 'check' engine malfunction indicator lamp, electric power steering system warning, parking support brake system, and pre-collision system. As these indicators were displayed, simultaneously the vehicle decelerated to an almost complete stop on the road (though I was pressing gas pedal to floor) and then to a complete stop as I was able to blessedly pull over to a gas station without getting hit (the car sounded like putt, putt as it shut down). The vehicle would not start even though I cleaned off the sensors this time. . . I sat for about 15-30 minutes and the vehicle restarted and resume normal operations until I was able to get home safely. This happened again on 15 July 2022 while I was driving on I-75n, a truly busy interstate, I was switching lanes to get to the far right lane when all of a sudden, the aforementioned indicator lamps displayed and the vehicle decelerated to a complete stop as I was able to pull over onto the shoulder of the highway. . . I believe since I had a family member following me, that definitely kept an accident from occurring along with the oversight of the good lord. While we sat and waited for tow services, I tried wiping the sensors to no avail. . . Yet, upon 30 minutes of waiting, the vehicle restarted and resumed normal operations. I drove vehicle to an auto shop in which they did a vehicle diagnostics check and couldn't find anything wrong. . . They even drove vehicle to see if problem would reoccur but to no avail.
This is a second report of unexpected, unanticipated extremly high acceleration while braking. I reported this experience in November 2019, NHTSA complaint number 11279155. At that time, the car was moving and I was braking on an uphill curve. On October 10, 2021, at approx 12:30 p. M. The unexpected, unanticipated extremely high acceleration occurred as I was starting my car in a pittsburgh area restaurant parking lot. The car requires that my foot be on the brake while starting. The car was in park when I depressed the start button. Immediately the car started with extremely high revolutions to the point the loud engine noise frightened several individuals standing 15-20 feet on an adjacent sidewalk. The tachometer was in or close to the redzone. I immediately shut the engine down. At no time did I have my foot on the accelerator and neither the floor mat nor any other item was touching the accelerator.
The automatic door locks have stopped working. I have had to replace 3 out of the 4 door lock actuators in the car. When they go out I am unable to use the door lock sensors and have to manually lock my doors. It also affects my ability to use the key fob remote to lock and unlock my door. I replaced 2 in 2018 and 1 in 2021.
Wife drove Lexus 2 miles to bakery, crust n'crumbs at 1370 n main road, vineland, NJ. When she came out of bakery, smoke was coming from under the hood. She called me. I drove there and raised the hood. 2 coil packs were on fire (about a 2 inch flame) and the hood insulation was smouldering. I blew out the two fires and put water on the coils and hood insulation. Then called a tow truck. Was not reported to police or fire departments.

I leased a 2019 Lexus Es300h in March of 2019. About 1 year later, the vehicle started having serious mechanical issues related to the power of the vehicle and put my life in danger on 3 different occasions. The vehicle has a serious problem with losing power. The very first time that this problem occurred, I was in the left only lane attempting to make a left turn. When it was safe to do so and there was enough distance between me and the nearest vehicle driving in the opposite direction, I pressed on the accelerator to make a left turn and my vehicle suddenly lost almost complete power. I had the accelerator pressed all the way to the floor and the vehicle was barely moving like 3-5 miles per hour. Me and the other vehicle that was coming kind of fast in the opposite direction almost got into a head on collision. I would have very easily and safely, without even rushing, cleared the intersection and completed the left turn had this not happened. After collecting myself from the terrifying experience I just went through and having my life flash before my eyes, pulled over and called Lexus roadside. They came and towed the vehicle to the dealer. The dealer kept the vehicle for some time, but was not able to duplicate the problem and told me that there is nothing with the vehicle. Regardless of how much I insisted that they do further tests, they refused and told me that the mechanic he driven it home at night and back in the morning and could not duplicate the issue and that if I didn't come to pick up the vehicle, they would park it on the street where it would be subject to tow. After picking it up and literally after about 20 minutes of driving it, almost the same thing happened while I was on the freeway on my way home. The vehicle lost power again and I almost got into an accident. A similar incident occurred the third time. Took the vehicle to service 3 times. Brand engagement has not done a single thing. Lemon law department denied the case. Been paying.
On thur Nov 6, 2009, at approx 6:00 pm. , I was driving on a wet country lane in wexford, PA. Driving slowly, less than 15 mph on an up hill curve, I applied my brakes and shortly afterward the engine unexpectedly and unintentionally accelerated causing my car to swerve to the left and into shrubbery adjacent to the lane. My foot was not on the accelerator and the floor mat was anchored. Auto damage is minor limited to left front bumper, Est at $1,000-$1,500 damage.
All 4 doors stopped locking by key fob, inside switches or exterior door handle switches or when putting the transmission in gear. No click is heard when trying to lock doors but clicking is heard when hitting the unlock switches. Doors will unlock electronically/ electrically when they are manually locked from inside the vehicle. A previous report indicated a similar problem that a dealer diagnosed as all of the door locks needed replaced, which makes no sense that the could all fail mechanically at the same time. The problem appears electrical in nature and is dangerous since doors can't be locked when the car is in motion or in a safety situation where locking the doors could prevent intruder entry.

My 2008 Lexus Es350 has been repaired at northtown Lexus since 10/18/2019. The dealer and manufacturer indicated the door lock actuators are defective as original equipment. The dealer replaced only two door locks and referred me to Lexus customer service. Since 10/18/2019, I have not been able to obtain any relief from northtown Lexus or Lexus customer service for these defective, factory original, door locks.

The dealership northtown Lexus, in amherst new york, repaired the door actuators on my 2008 Lexus Es350 without my authorization. They claimed the door actuators were a factory defect however, they repaired two out of the four door actuators. The dealership northtown Lexus completed this repair without my written or verbal authorization. The two driver's side door locks continues to malfunction. The dealership refuses to repair the problem.

Since may of 2019 my check engine light has been on. The obd reader keeps detecting a trouble code. When moving back to California, I had to reregistered for California license plates, tags, and get my car smogged with my smog certification in order for me to complete registration. I have spent so much money into my car that it's affecting me from getting to work/ school and taking driving my daughter to school as well. Every time I get something fixed and drive the miles I'm supposed to be driving, that check engine light comes back on with a trouble code. This is affecting me because I'm unable to drive my car because it still won't pass smog. It's been going on quite for some time.

On September 15, 2018, at around 1:05 p. M I was driving my Lexus Es 300 down route 88 pennsylvania approximately 5 mins from my residence. When suddenly smoke began to fill the cabin of the vehicle. I began to panic and pulled vehicle over and stopped turning ignition off and immediately fled the vehicle. Heavy smoke was pouring out of the interior of the vehicle. I ran to the closest residence and pounded on the door to get help and to warn the occupants of the possible fire. As I was parked at the edge of their driveway. There was no answer, at the same time a passerby notified me that I had fire underneath my vehicle, he immediately called 911. Police responded in one minute. Fire department responded within five minutes, by this time vehicle was fully engulfed. Vehicle was a total loss. Vehicle had just st under 150,000 miles at time of incedent. . Contacted Toyota who then hired an independent fire investigator, who stated that the electrical system was damaged at the sunroof, so interior fuse panel and center console.

Takata recall and electrical failures. Lexus recalled vehicle in Jan 2017 warning that no one should sit in front seat for duration. No provision for a replacement vehicle was mentioned. It has been 10 months of not being able to use front seat. They say the parts will be available in December. Our vehicle is also getting my wife stranded. We have gone through 3 batteries in 3 years. Lexus refuses to fix it. Please reference attached recall letter. I was not able to attach the complete set of docs with detailed description due to file size.
I am not sure it it is engine or fuel but my problem is as follows: while driving and with no warning my 2013 Lexus Es 350 hesitates to the point of almost stopping in the middle of driving on local and highway roads. It seems to be getting worse and I have taken my car to the dealer and was told they did not find anything wrong with it. . Read more...
I bought this car from all auto sales. The same day, less than an hour later I attempted to drive the car home and it broke down in front of a red light. The salesman reassured me that nothing was wrong with it. I tried to start it back up and it wouldn't start so I had to push it to the side of the road, while pregnant and two kids present. It was sold to me "as is" and I have no temp tags and I'm expected to pay a bi weekly car note. I had to payout of pocket for a tow truck and at this point I just want my money back it's only been two days and I'm already experiencing problems out of this vehicle. Please help.

I had a car accident approximately one month ago due to sudden unintended acceleration and loss of steering in a 2004 Lexus Es330. I am the only owner of the car and I had it serviced regularly over the past 13 years. The night of my accident I lost complete control of my car as I attempted to merge on to the local lanes of an interstate highway in northern, NJ. The car accelerated to the left and crossed sped across 8 lanes of the highway, including over a median before it spun around and jerked to a stop in the left lane of the west bound lanes facing east. I was hit head on by another driver. I was not injured, but the car was a total loss. Both of my parents also currently drive Lexus vehicles, and both models were noted to have similar issues. Furthermore, my mother recently received a letter indicating her car was being recalled due to the passenger air bag issues, the letter stated while Toyota would offer what they considered to be a suitable fix at no charge. The letter further explained that they did not currently possess the parts needed for the repairs and would be in touch in the future, no indication of the expected time frame was provided. Between my accident and knowing both of my parents are currently driving vehicles that are unsafe to drive, by Toyota's own admissions, I have been and continue to experience significant distress. I am aware of the significant fines and suits settled against Toyota in the past, but they continue to seem unfazed despite their cars putting all of our lives at risk daily. I am also incredibly disgusted by their history of victim blaming and would love to do whatever I can to bring attention to this issue. I feel it is only fair that Toyota accept responsibility for their seemingly never ending list of wrongdoing and take immediate steps to correct ongoing issues.

I just purchased this car (Lexus Es 300 2002 sedan) for my daughter less than a week ago on 4/11/2014 from a private owner, with 267,000 miles and it ran well for a transportation vehicle, seems to have been well cared for mechanically, interior and exterior is in great shape and was checked out my friend a longtime mechanic. My daughter had just left the dmv which was closed today 4/18/2014 and street driving back home. The car made a loud popping sound, smoke started from under the hood and soon flames and she had to pull over and ditch the car. Soon it blazed and the whole front end, engine, windshield the front tires all burned. Fire and police departments showed up, extinguished the fire and did traffic control. The fire damage was control to the front and engine, the firewall did it's job. All the interiors, dash and console are all in tact and in good condition no smoke damage. VIN:[xxx] Lexus Es 2002 information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
I had a 2012 Lexus Es 350 and had problems with it. The first problem occurred when I was parking. I was angle parking and had my foot on the brake when the car jumped into a brick wall. Four air bags exploded in my face and rendered me unconscious. I was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. I could hardly walk and my legs were extremely swollen and I had many other bruises. The second incident was that the passenger seat of the car went on fire and burnt the seat. I feel I should not have to pay the final excess wear and tear bill of $829. 50. In fact I believe I should be reimbursed for the last payment of $455 since the car was not in my possession. I had returned it to wilde Lexus of sarasota on March 16, 2015 as I was extremely concerned about the safety of the vehicle.
Had to replace stater, brakes would start and engine would stop. Had to have brakes replaced, lighting inside would sometimes come on other times no lighting inside.
Drivers door will not unlock. Can't open drivers door. Had to climb over to passenger side to get out. No manual over ride to open door. I'm 82 years old and could not fine a way to open my door with the door switch or the remote control. This is a real safety concern .
At approximately 6:30pm, while making a right hand turn into a friends driveway, the vehicle suddenly accelerated on it's own, and the brakes would not work. The vehicle continued to the right as if locked in to the right hand position, hit a tree and finally came to a stop by hitting high concrete steps. The vehicle was towed to the dealership, and later to the body shop as the vehicle was not drivable. During the interim, the vehicle was inspected by Toyota. Post investigation, the letter recently received from Toyota states "during the limited test drive accelerating and braking tests were conducted and the vehicle performed with no abnormalities found". The vehicle was not drivable per the mechanic at the dealership and the mechanic at the body shop, due to the significant damage and fluid leakage. This letter from Toyota's investigation is incongruent with the facts as I know them. As of this date, June 3, 2012, the vehicle is still being worked on.

Capability of Lexus Es 350 year 2007: it was impossible for one to be locked out of one's car with the Smart key in the cabin or in the trunk. If the Smart key were in the cabin, one could not lock the doors and would be alerted with loud continuous signal. If the Smart key were in the trunk, one could not lock the trunk and would alerted with a loud continuous signal. This capability does not exist with the Lexus Es 350 year 2011: if one locks all the doors to the cabin and then accidently places the Smart key into the trunk. The truck can then be locked leaving the driver in the cold with no way to get back into car. This a safety hazard. We were not alerted about this safety hazard when we traded in our 2007 Lexus Es 350 for the 2011 Lexus Es 350. Lexus response: once we were able to get to a phone, Lexus indicated that we must have the car towed to a Lexus dealing!!! recommend that Lexus fix this safety defect on Lexus Es 350 year 2011.
During a drive home, the car suddenly jerked coming to an almost complete stop. The panel light came on with the abs. It then returned to running smoothly> I returned home within I mile without further problems, no odor or panel signs showing. The car was put into our garage and turned off, within minutes my husband saw the car on fire. The fire dept put out the fire and the car became a total loss. Calls to Lexus and follow-up with Toyota were not answered at all, no comment. Has there been a previous complaints with that model car? thank you.
