Seven problems related to air bag not deploy have been reported for the 2007 Lexus ES350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Lexus ES 350 2007 dashboard is melting and compromised. Due to the sticky mess the airbags will not deploy properly and death will likely occur. Very concerned about the toxicity of the dashboard as well. It's melting, changing color from black to white and cracking. This carcinogenic material is now poisoning all who ride in the vehicle. Included photo does not convey the glossy melting ,sticky reality of it all. The glossy melting reflection causes lots of glare and impairs visibility on sunny days. This issue must be resolved before a life is taken needlessly. Lexus refuses to replace the dashboard even though they admit that its a compromised part and have deceptively allocated this safety issue as a warranty problem that has expired. Because my vehicle is seldom driven and garaged (69,717k miles) problem did not surface until now.
The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Es350. The contact stated that the air bag warning indicator was constantly illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer (hendrick Toyota north charleston, 7151 rivers avenue, north charleston, SC 29406) where it was diagnosed that the ecu failed and needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired, but the part did not calibrate with the computer software. The local dealer informed the contact that the parts were no longer available due to the age of the vehicle. The contact was instructed not to drive the vehicle due to the air bags not deploying in the event of a crash. The manufacturer was notified and confirmed the information provided by the local dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 41,379.

I was hit by a truck at an intersection on the drivers side. My upper body hit the steering wheel on the left side and then hit the side door panel. There was no airbag deployment either in the door or on the steering wheel. Prior to this the car was in two other accidents and the airbags never deployed. Because there were no injuries I did not report this. Due to this accident I suffered a total shoulder separation and sever neck injury. Pending surgery at this time.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Lexus Es350. The contact stated that while driving approximately 5 mph and coming to a stop, another vehicle suddenly crashed into the rear end of the vehicle with substantial force. The air bags failed to deploy. The vehicle was completely destroyed and a police report was filed. The contact sustained injuries to the collar bone, shoulder, and left leg. In addition, there were bruises and lacerations to the shoulder. The front seat passenger sustained injuries to both wrists and the shoulder. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. Front end crash of my 2007 Lexus ES 350 with a Ford f-150. My car was totaled and the front 1/3 of my vehicle was damaged. There was no airbag deployment in my vehicle. Lexus tells me that the front sensors were not activated because I was in the stopping mode with the front end down and hit low on the passenger doors of the high profile truck. I have pictures and can provide. I find it disturbing that the airbags did not deploy given the extent of front end damage and I would hate to think that one has to hit the sensors just right to get the airbags to deploy. If not an outright mechanical failure, then certainly a design defect.
I own a 2007 Lexus ES 350 and was on the 10 fwy in the fast lane (third lane) and a car stopped for no reason and no traffic. I tried to stop and my floor mat slid forward and my car went faster and I tried to stop and push on the brake and the car was not stopping. I could not control my car and stopped into the back of a Mini van. My car had to be towed away and when I called the claim to my aaa insurance company the insurance rep let me know that there was a recall on my car and I never received any letter or notice in regards to a recall this happened on 12/23/09 and I am a mother of three children and the tow truck driver let me know this could have killed me. My air bags did not deploy.
