My vehicle, 2005 Lexus Es350 is equipped with front passenger airbag inflators produced by takata. As of today November 22, 2017, my vehicle is still not being recall by the manufacturing to have replace the defect airbag. Also, my driver side backseat seatbelt is not hold on when latched in. I believe it is a safety that need to be fix. I am still using the vehicle for driving.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Es350. The contact stated that NHTSA campaign number: 17v006000 (air bags) for the frontal passenger air bag inflator exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the repair. The contact received the recall notification in February of 2017. The dealer (herb chambers Lexus, 25 providence hwy, sharon, MA, 02067) stated that the parts were unavailable for repair and may take months. The manufacturer was also contacted and confirmed that parts were unavailable for the repair. The manufacturer also stated that parts would not be available until December and that the contact was in zone c. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

On 7/18/16 approximately 1655 I contacted sterling mccall Lexus, houston texas requested an alternative transportation option or a loaner vehicle due recall of front passenger airbag inflator, and also stating that I was in zone a. Non-use of the passenger front seat is not an option for me and my family. I was informed that no loaner or replacement vehicle would be offered until parts are available . Representative stated that this information was per service manager (larry). I requested to speak to larry and was transferred and a voice message was left. I am scheduled to drive out of town Wednesday and will need a vehicle to accommodate 5 passengers.
"takata recall" receive notice of recall for airbag inflator defect on passenger side of vehicle about 8 or 10 months ago. Still waiting for replacement part and it's exceeding way beyond time is should have be remedied. Received second notice on April 21, 2017. Spoke to sales person on April 25, 2017 an was told that part is not in and they are waiting on the parts from manufactured. My father in law drives a Honda and had a recall on the same part from "takata" but received his part within a month or two. Not this was eight months ago. Now I'm still waiting and not having any of my family ride in the passenger seat because of the danger it imposes. It seems nothing but notice are being give with no resolution being done. Its becoming extremely frustrating. Since I cannnot drive my car with my family in the front seat is possible to get a loaner car to use.
"takata recall" I received NHTSA recall no. 16v-340 on June 9,2016 stating that the front passenger airbag inflators produced by takata can cause injury or death and not to drive with a passanger in the right front seat. Today is sept 10, 2016. 90 days and not a word from Lexus regarding this recall. What's up?.
Takata recall; this recall was made may 23, 2016. Today is September 2, 2016. I live on the gulf coast of texas where the temperature often exceeds 95 degrees and humidity is extremely high. The manufacture "still does not have a remedy for this defect". In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, striking the vehicle occupants, and result in serious injury or death. The manufacturer suggests that passengers should not ride in the front passenger seat of the vehicle!! this is a ridiculous statement, and makes the vehicle unusable for the purpose for which it was purchased. Nhtsb should demand that Lexus provide an immediate remedy to this extremely dangerous situation or they should be required to provide me with an alternative vehicle at their expense until they remedy the defect in my vehicle. To suggest my vehicle should not be used for the purpose of carrying passengers is not acceptable. They have known about these airbag defects for several years, and still do not have remedies. Lexus should be required to provide me with a safe and serviceable vehicle now or refund me the purchase price of my vehicle so I can obtain a safe vehicle for my passengers and myself. Thank you for helping me resolve this very dangerous issue.
Takata recall--- help--- I am driving around with my almost 80 year old wife in the front seat of our Lexus. . . . . Manufactures says inflators could fail and kill her. She refuses to ride in the back seat like a child. Local car dealer says parts still not available-- I really am wondering when this bomb will go off? this has been on recall from may 23, 2016. ---- I am going to hold some one at NHTSA responsible if this bomb explodes. . . . Takata inflators why has the govt. Not done anything to get Lexus to fix this issue. I am basically being held hostage in this situation. They can put a car on the road, without a driver, but cannot fix an airbag???. And the govt. , which I as a taxpayer employ, has done nothing to correct. The situation. . Hendrick, the local Lexus dealer, will not even return my calls I need an answer ASAP.
