The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Es350. While driving approximately 25 mph on normal road conditions, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the engine began to rev, followed by unintended acceleration. The brake pedal required greater force to stop the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel at the time of the failure. The failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer for diagnostic testing and they stated that the failure was contributed to the computerized system in the transmission. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle is in the process of being repaired. The failure mileage was 18,000 and current mileage was 25,200. Updated 05/26/09 updated 05/28/09.

The lights will come back on for short periods of time afterwards. The vehicle does not lose power. The dash lights have failed a total of three times. The failure occurred 45 minutes into the drive twice. The last failure occurred 2 miles into the drive. The external temperature is usually between 31-39 degrees when this happen. During one of the incidents, the temperature flashed at 39 degrees before going out. The speedometer reading is approximately 60-65 mph when the failures occur. The dealer stated they can not find anything wrong with the vehicle, and for this reason they will not look at the vehicle anymore per manufacturer. The contact was told this is an failure which cannot be duplicated; the problem seems to happen early in the morning approximately 5:30-6:30 am. The dealer has performed a chassis electrical diagnosis (twice), window & door diagnosis and body diagnosis and can not find anything wrong. The vehicle has been in and out of the shop a total of 42 days.
