Vehicle Speed Control Problems of Lexus GS

This was an unintended acceleration with non functional braking of a Lexus Gs 350. This occured on December 18 around 8:00 am. The driver noticed an orange triangular light in the dash while travelling slowly through a neighborhood less than a mile from the incident. While approaching a lighted intersection, the car suddenly accelerated when the brake pedal was depressed. The brake pedal was stiff and did not work. The driver tried to avoid another vehicle by veering right. The car hit a curb, travelled over a small hill and ended up in a parking lot after the ensuing damage disabled the car. The driver was able to escape from the drivers door before a fire erupted on the drivers side of the engine bay. The driver's safety and any other cars or persons in the vicinity were obviously put at grave risk.

Car parked in driveway; started engine, shifted into gear, and before I even accelerated, the engine roared and the car lunged forward. Lexus traveled approximmately 50 feet and crashed into the neighbor's concrete wall across the street. I was injured (broken ribs, etc. ) and the car was totaled. When reporting accident to insurance company (usaa) I asked representative to have car inspected due to accident circumstances. I do not know if they did an inspection as I was in hospital and at home recuperating. No prior issue of this type.

On July 29th at approximately 8:30pm, I got into my car after exiting the meijer store and noticed the car making strange noises and was hard to get in gear. I park so I don’t have to back up, so I put the car in drive and it went fast in reverse, when it went forward, it went crazy and I ran into a tree island and busted 2 tires and finally stopped. Fortunately this happened in a mostly vacant parking lot. This car has a lot of horsepower and those horses went crazy. I answered a question on how fast I was going? I answered 50mph, I went from 0 to 50 in a parking lot with my foot on the brake!.

The contact owns a 1999 Lexus Gs400. The contact stated while driving at 1 mph, the vehicle accelerated independently. The brakes failed to engage while depressed on the brake pedal almost causing a collision. The contact informed the independent mechanic of the failure, but the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 67,000.

Hello everyone -- I have 06 Lexus Gs300. I had a rebuilt transmission, new valve six solenoids. Because I had harsh on the 2 to 1 downshift. That didn't fixed the problem, and they told me about the ecu the new computer will cost me $1550 on top of the $2200 I had to pay for the transmission and labor too. Their should be a recall notice. How can we alert Lexus of this problem and shift the cost to them for their repairs?.

The dealer and manufacturer diagnosed that there was no failure within the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 1,900.
