While bringing the car to a stop, I am experiencing a very hard downshift from 2nd gear to 1st gear. This hard downshift is so abrupt that it feels as if you were rear ended. Research shows this being an electronic failure in the electronic control module backed with hundreds of complaints of this exact issue to this particular year, make and model. In several cases, mentions of a class action lawsuit against Toyota/Lexus have been mentioned. It's a costly, yet unnecessary repair caused by a flawed design within the electronic componentry. . Purchased a 98 Gs300 six months ago and my vsc, abs, brake light and check engine warning gauges came up and will not go away. Did some research and found out the brake master cylinder, throttle position sensor and throttle position actuator were the problems. With these few items gone bad my car produces little to no power during acceleration. The car barely gets up to 45 mph with acceleration pedal all the way down to the floor. With the vsc gone bad there is an alarm that stretches to uncomfortable hearing levels that' hurts like the devil. My car will literally stop in the middle of cruising and won't pick up any speed unless I have my foot pedal all the way down to the floor, which also often times causes it to turn off on highways, all types of streets and other areas. Also with these items gone bad my car shifts so hard to the point where it jumps whenever I shift into any position. All in all the vehicle, I feel , is too dangerous to drive at this time.

Took my wife's car to jiffy lube in kent wa 98032 and the for got to put oil in the engine so we contacted the jiffy lube corp. . And they came out did the walk around expection did and took pictures. That's all. Well my rings in the engine are blown because of no oil. So we took the car back to the jl and the worker said if we had any problems they jiffy lube would take care of any problems. . . So I do have the denile letter. Loud cold start noise.

My 2006 Lexus Gs300 is consuming oil. I have taken the car to the Lexus dealer 4 times. The car is still under warranty and there is not anything being done to correct the problem. I purchased the car in August 2008. This problem occurred 18 months after I purchased the car. I continue to get sent away without an answer to the problem. From my research the problem are the rings. One of the Lexus technicians accidentally stated that the last time I took the car in. The car is consuming 1-2 pints of oil a month. There has not been anything done to correct the problem.

Spontaneous acceleration after bringing car to a complete stop in a parking lot. Vehicle lurched forward onto an island before I could stop it again. This incident is related to a previous incident,odi number 10317084, which occurred in June 2007.

Sudden unexpected acceleration resulted in collision. Driver applied brakes with maximum force but was unable to stop vehicle. Driver did not have foot on gas pedal. Floor mat was not interfering with gas pedal.

The engine is going through about 4 quarts a month I was told it was a recall on the motor but I seem not to find one.

At 60,000 miles, engine/oil light came on; dealer says that engne needs replaced due to oil "sludge" @ cost of $15,000 to repair. Lexus/Toyota refuses to pay even though it is still under warranty bcause I cannot supply maintenance records. Toyota has extended warranty on these engines to 8-years bu t will not honor the warranty. I still owe $20,000 on this $45,000 automobile.

While accelerating from a stop vehicle first hesitated then jerked forward before accelerating. The dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
