1 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2006 Lexus GS300

Failure Date: 03/02/2019

I purchased my vehicle (used) in 2014. I have experienced a rebuilt transmission ($4200), new alternator and now I'm currently experience oil consumption. My car is burning oil at-at-a rapid pace. I have replaced my oil two times in two months. My mechanic has informed me that it's the engine (manufacturer issue) and it is due to carbon build up due to a standard for this make, model and year. It's burning alot of oil that is causing the build up in the engine. It was advised that I should replace the engine (who can afford that) or have it rebuilt. If this a manufacturer defect it is not the responsibility of the owner. This is my only vehicle and I'm a mother of two young children. It's very unsafe for me to drive and is jerking; while I drive. I just topped off my oil again this weekend; due to the oil light coming on. I only have 146,461 miles on the vehicle. That's very low for a 13-year old car. This is my second Lexus and it's very troubling to not only read this common problem for this year, and model car. Lexus are usually reliable vehicles.

3 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2006 Lexus GS300

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

I have problem with my Lexus Gs300 129000 miles, engine run roughly at idle and it burns oil like crazy, every 1000 miles I add about 2. 5 q of oil. Looks like its carbon build-up issue on interior valves and components , I'm scared vehicle can stall. Dealer don't want to do anything about that because it's out of warranty already. Please help.

4 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2006 Lexus GS300

Failure Date: 06/15/2016

Excessive oil consumption. Vehicle burns 3 1/2 qts of oil or more every 1500 miles. Causing my plugs to foul out and check engine code (0300) multiple cylinder misfire causing car to have sluggish acceleration. I took car in to charles barker Lexus and was charged a diag fee and then told the car is burning oil internally and would be $4100 plus parts for further diag. Lexus offered a customer support program for stated issues for 9 years w/ no mileage limitations of which I was never informed of and was within time frame to qualify. At the time I was unaware of the program and now Lexus is telling me my VIN # does not fall under that program and my vehicle is experiencing all of the identical issues. Also transmission solenoid failed causing hard jolt when slowing down before stopping. Fixed solenoid only to then have to replace cars computer. The transmission repair mechanic informed me of the ongoing problems with Lexus transmissions and computer failure for the 2006 GS 300 as well as a class action law suite that was filed because of the same issues excessive oil consumption. I have since contacted Lexus informing them of my issues and they decline to address my issues telling me that my vehicle VIN # does not fall under any recalls. I have spent over $2000 replacing the transmission solenoid and I had the cars computer rebuilt vs spending the additional money to replace it. Lexus denies the issues stated that is well documented on the forums pages and refuses to refund me for monies spent as well as refuses to address excessive oil consumption issues when they just settled a class action lawsuit for the same issues stated and offered a customer support program to pay for the cost of repairs for a period of 9 yrs with no mileage limitations. I have documentation for my repairs and looking for assistance in what action I need to take for this matter.

5 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2006 Lexus GS300

Failure Date: 03/14/2015

Engine consumes excess oil before interval services. Engine consumed approximately 5 quarts of total engine oil at 3,000 miles after latest oil change. Engine oil capacity is 6. 3 quarts with filter replacement. No leaks have been observed. No blue smoke to rule out engine oil burn indicators. Engine dip stick shows signs of oil reduction after oil change. Checked oil levels after 1,000 miles and again at 3,000 miles. After 3,000 miles, oil is below the recommended intervals to almost non-existent on dipstick. Excess engine oil consumption without adequate knowledge of mechanics poses extreme threat to consumer safety and assets. Have researched 2006 GS 300 known issues - this is one of them. No repairs and/or fixes have been provided by Lexus USA, or Toyota USA.

6 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2006 Lexus GS300

Failure Date: 10/01/2013

Vehicle is burning through oil at accelerated rate. There are no oil leak markings from vehicle after vehicle is parked however, low engine oil light comes on within 1000 miles of oil change. The rate of this has been accelerating in the last year. The dealership (kuni Lexus) has inspected it, notified us of some sort of a recall which had an expiration date related to this issue. How can a recall expire? how come I was never notified?.
