The brake pedal feel has changed over time. I have to practically shove the brake pedal to the floor in order for the brakes to start to work. So when I am driving on the highway it takes a long time for the car to start to slow down. The car will not brake if I only slight push the pedal, it has to be pushed far down. The brakes are new as they were just done by the dealership when I purchased the vehicle.

I got brakes put on at the Lexus of palm beaches off of okeechobee blvd last year and paid over 475 dollars for all parts. As a result 7 months later my brakes began to squeak so I called them and I was not assisted with new parts except just brake spray which is not good. The parts are defective and I have a 1 year warranty which ends in one month which I feel that is why they dont want to fix it until the waaranty is up.

While stopping the vehicle sometimes the brake distance is extended as the car is slow to stop. On a regular bases the vehicle brake pedal sticks to the floor while stopped at a light, I then have to pull the pedal up with my left foot to begin acceleration. When approaching slower traffic as the traffic resumes at regular speeds the brake pedal sticks and continues stopping the car.
In winter of 2008 I was exiting a driveway at the end of which there is a stop light on a night when snow had just begun. I was traveling at a slow speed because the light was red my car brakes locked up and I slid into a stone pillar at the exit. Although I had sufficient time, I had no way to effectively steer the car because the wheels were locked up. There was significant damage to the car. While my overriding concern is that this could happen again, I was also unhappy about the very significant damage to my car. The dealer and the Lexus corporation told me there were no recalls on the antilock brakes, but I asked them to report the incident in case others experienced (or would in future experince) the same problem. I don't know if they did. In reading about the way Toyota handled current recalls, it raised doubts for me about whether they filed a report of this incident.
Transmission continues to jerk and remain sluggish when pulling away from a stop or in slow traffic. Does not shift smoothly. Bad enough for passengers to detect. Dealership says its "normal".
