Check Engine Light On Problems of Lexus IS

At 30,000 miles, we are being told that the engine needs to be rebuilt due to excess carbon buildup. It has been serviced through Lexus of concord through 8/17 and then Lexus monterey until present. I accelerated on the freeway to get in to the other lane but the car lost power. I coasted to an exit and got off. The skid control light, check engine light and ! light all came on. I drove it on surface roads and the check vcs light came on. On a slight decline, it would only go 5 mph. I had it towed to Lexus of monterey peninsula.

I work for Toyota/Lexus manu plant in ky. My vehicle started throwing a misfire code (p0304) and check engine light came on. My car was diagnosed by Lexus dealer as having carbon build up in engine (temporary repair will cost $600 to clean engine. Permanent repair that will eventually have to happen $15,000). Lexus did offer a csp on this Issue and extended warranty on this Issue but you could not go to the dealer and have it diagnosed until the check engine light came. The check engine light did not come on until it was out of warranty. After many phone calls and continuous complaining Lexus would not stand behind their product. I finally had to file a complaint thru the warranty dept at the manu plant. Lexus finally called me back and said they would pay the $600 to clean the engine, she did tell me that the only reason they were even talking to me was because I work at the plant. I had the engine cleaned oct 2017. The dealer told me that this carbon build up will return and I will eventually need an engine replacement.

2009 Lexus Is 250 at only 63000 miles. Engine random misfires on cold start. Car shakes badly. Check engine light, traction control light comes on. Engine error codes p0300, p0301, p0302, p0303, p0304, p0305, p0306. When engine rpm drops from high to low, -4000rpm to -500, it some times stalls. Car has to add engine oil about 3 quarts between 8500 miles change intervals. Problems stated at less than 50000 miles, getting worse and worse.

I had 2 times were the vehicle almost stalled at different red lights within a time frame of 2 days. Shortly after this I started noticing that my vehicle was driving like a 4 cylinder instead of a 6. I took it in to my dealership and they put the car on the computer and found 4 codes in the cars history. 1 stated multiple engine misfires, 2 stated misfire on number 2, 3 stated misfire on number 4 and 3, stated misfire on number 6. In all these instances I never had a check engine light come on. The dealer conntacted corporate and a tas was opened for my car and corporate told the dealer to watch the situation and if it should happen again further action would be taken. I brought the car back in Friday for a different Issue (radio problems) and told them the car was acting up again. They found no misfires and the mechanics said it was running within specs. Saturday the 29th my check engine light came on and stayed on until Monday afternoon. Contacted dealership and they scheduled an engine overhaul for October 15th and said it would be completed in about 1 week. I them filed a claim myself with Lexus corporate to evaluate the numerous problems and the fact that a 2009 with 37,500 miles needed an engine overhaul. The car Is very unreliable. I am supposed to hear back from Lexus Thursday the 4th of October. No news as of 14:05 est.

Vsc warning light came with check engine light. Pulled in a local dealership, was told car was ok to continue driving but make an appointment for service. Left dealership, went approx 0. 5 miles to get gas. When I stopped the car there were loud scrambling noises like an animal was loose in the dash. Popped the hood, couldn't see anything- looked under car and all the transmission fluid was pouring out. Had car towed back to dealership. Still waiting for verdict. Car Is only 7 months old and this will be my 3rd time in the shop. At 3 months had to receive full wheel alignment due to severe shaking and pulling to the left. At 6 months brought car in complaining of a loud creaking during turns- arm bolt was loose and needed to be tightened. Also, the windshield makes a loud crack/pop noise every morning on my way to work. This car had excellent reviews, what happened!.
