Unintended acceleration while inching into parking space at very slow rate of speed. Engine raced unexpectedly and car jumped curb with all 4 tires, across a small median, and down another curb with 3 tires, striking a parked car, which stopped forward motion.
Camshaft gear gone bad at only 85,000 and Lexus is aware of and does nothing to do a recall. This is a 3000,00 fix.

The car was shaking and would not excelerate over 40mph. It was brought in to Lexus of pohanka in December of 2016. They performed a top engine clean. The car started having the same issues in the beginning of 2017. I called Lexus customer service and opened a case as I was told there was a recall on a manufacturing defect of the pistons. I had paid $1500. 00 for the work performed. I was told a should have received a letter in regard to this problem. Lexus was calling it a customer support program. I never received the letter but repeatedly ask le us to reimburse me and solve the piston misfire. I have all of my emails to support my case. Lexus stopped replying to them. The car at this point is still shaking and the engine light is flashing. We have been instructed by Lexus in the past not to drive when light is flashing. At this time I do not know where to turn. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am aware that many of these models and others have had the work performed or new engines.

The transmission on my car has issues jerking when in gear and stopping when in use. I took my car to a certified Lexus dealer and they could not repair it. I'm sure because it was no longer under warranty. I took it to a transmission machanic and I bought a 2006 Is250 used transmission from a car that was totaled that had less miles and was totaled because the frame was bent because it was rear ended. In less than a year same problem transmission again! I spent $4500 the first go around I couldn't afford that again. I had to buy another car for what I paid to repair the Lexus. I've checked for recalls yeah my dash has melted and all of the other recalls! I can't get those corrected!! I'm starting a class action lawsuit!!! I've spent to much money on a high class Toyota that has more problems than its worth!!!!.
Automatic transmission. When slowing to a stop or anytime (everytime) the car needs to auto downshift from 2nd to 1st the car hard shifts and the entire car jerks really hard causing almost whiplash. This is a widely discussed issue with is and GS models on many forums. New ecu units needed each time costing thousands.

The check engine, check vsc light would intermittently come on when I turned on my car and sometimes while driving. This has happened since I purchased my car in 2006. I brought my car in for the recall but they couldn't make the light come on when they hooked up their computers to the computers in my car. I recently brought my car to another dealership to perform the recall of the dashboard and side panels and the problem finally happened while they had the car in their possession. They tested it and said this problem would have been covered by a recall had it not expired. They said the reason is that carbon buildup in the first, third, and fifth cylinders are causing this problem. Why didn't they discover this when I took my car in for that recall the first time? because it didn't exhibit the problem at the time doesn't mean it didn't have the issue. Now they said they cannot fix it because the recall expired?! how is that fair or safe?!?!?!?.
I have a unsafe vehicle that is dangerous for myself and the public. The dealership has fail to take responsibility for the problem. There is a recall for the problem and it was extended as well. ( carbon buildup) . The registration history on the vehicle is very strange, it does not seem to be accurate, I believe this vehicle was a defect and the dealership has tampered the vehicle to cover the history. The vehicle service history has been purge and deleted for unknown reason. I am getting different answers and no help with the problem. It has cause me a lot of distress and concern, I have spent thousands of dollars trying to make it safe but from research this is a common defect for this particular vehicle and it can not be repaired. . I noticed a black spot in my rear view mirror one day and did not think anything of it, however the one spot turned into multiple streaks. It's getting harder to see out of the mirror which to me is a safety issue. I noticed that there are many complaints on this issue and there should be a recall on this defect as well. I have to make an appointment for the recalls on the melting dashboard and doors and engine. Lexus should really take care of this problem. I have purchased several new vehicles however I have had more problems with this car than I did with my other cars.
The contact owns a 2006 Lexus is 250. While driving 35 mph, the engine and the vehicle stability control warning lights illuminated. The contact stated the vehicle became harder to control. The contact mentioned that the failure recurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the pistons ring sets needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 121,000.
Since I bought this vehicle in 2010 I have been experiencing "raw fuel" smell and "catalytic converter" smell occasionally. It seems to happen most often when a small hill is climbed and when going down subsequently. I mentioned it to the dealer a few times but they said it was the wind! I never had these strong smells with any other car that I owned.

Without warning, the vehicle stopped accelerating as I was driving so I pulled off the road onto the shoulder. Once the car stopped, smoke began to come through the vents so I exited the vehicle. Several minutes later I could see flames coming from under the hood. Before the fire department could make it to the scene, the entire front end of the car burned completely. The fire department said they were going to classify it as a "mechanical failure".
"takata recall" the second day I bought my car it has been giving me problems. I have had to replace my engine/motor not long after I purchased my car. I'm still having the same problems with my car and new motor. It runs hot and I have brought it to 6 different mechanic as well as to the Lexus dealership multiple times and I have had to pay out of pocket for a lot of things. I also went on Lexus. Com and found out that my car is a lemon buy back and was never told by the dealership I bought it from or the Lexus dealership in baton rouge louisiana that it was a lemon. I had to fund out on my own. It very wrong that I bought a car and not told my anyone how the car is a lemon.
The contact owns a 2006 Lexus is 250. The contact stated that while driving various speeds, the vehicle¿s temperature gauge increased then immediately returned to normal. The check engine and vsc warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the failure could not be diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified. The vehicle was not repaired. My is 250 had a recall/TSB for a severe engine problem that involved rebuillding the entire engine. They performed this in 2013. Barely 1 year later I experienced the same problem, I brought it back to the dealer and was told they could not replicate the issue. 2 weeks ago the problem happened again so I brought it back to the dealer, now they inform me the car needs a new engine and is going to cost over 4000 dollars for a fix they did not perform correctly the first time.
Cam gear noise while start up. Is 350 had a recall for that, but not for is 250.
I took my vehicle in to a Lexus dealership on March 15, 2013 because the engine has powered down while driving & the check engine and vsc indicators came on simultaneously, the car is also idling hard. I had the vehicle inspected and it was found to misfire by the technicians at the dealership. I was told that this is a massive recall and that my parts will not come in for eight months. I am afraid to drive my vehicle which is why I brought it to the dealership and do not understand why the company will not loan me a vehicle while this manufacturing defect is corrected.
Engine rattle on cold start.
My Lexus Is250 sudden acceleration and crash.
On 02/06/09 the car engine malfunction light turned on as well as the other one's on the dash. The car reduced the velocity while driving on the highway and did not accelerate any faster the 40 mph. I took the car to the Lexus dealership service department. They stated it was a misfire in some cylinder and also some problem with the gasoline. They fixed it. On may 4, 2009 I had the same problem with the car. The car malfunctioning lights turned on and the car loses velocity while driving on the highway. So far the car has been at the Lexus service department waiting to be repaired. Lexus stated it is the vehicle motor pipes that need be changed and they have not arrived at the dealership up until today may 26, 2009. They have told me the vehicle motor pipes are on back ordered until June 2009. What can I do??? the consumer was informed the engine escape valves were broken. Updated 05/27/09.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Lexus is 250. While driving various speeds, the vehicle hesitated when the accelerator pedal was depressed from a stop position. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed with carbon build up. There was no repair solution. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer several years later and the motor was rebuilt. The vehicle had several top carbon clean outs, but the issue persisted. The contact also stated that the dashboard and the inner door panels were melting. The failures made it difficult to see out the widow due to a glare coming through the windshield. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v340000 (air bags); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.
