Engine Oil Leaking problems of the 2007 Lexus IS350

1 Engine Oil Leaking problem

The contact owns a 2007 Lexus is 350. While driving 30 mph, the vehicle vibrated significantly. The contact managed to pull the vehicle over before it stalled. Also, the check engine, battery, and vsc warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer (Lexus of pleasanton, 4345 rosewood dr, pleasanton, CA, 94588) where it was diagnosed that the engine valve springs failed and a piece of the valve spring fractured. The valve spring fell into the cylinder head and damaged the short block where the pistons were connected, along with an oil leak to the spark plugs. The valve spring and short block needed to be replaced and the cylinders resurfaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was serviced per NHTSA campaign number: 10v309000 (engine) for the engine valve springs in July of 2017 by the dealer (Lexus of concord, 2001 market st, concord, CA,94520); however, the remedy failed to repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and provided case number: 1709051152, which was an extension from a different case number. The contact was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
