This particular model 2009 Lexus Ls460 apparently has an issue with the abs system module (abs brake pump actuator) and when it fails it is like a domino effect not to mention having to reprogram the cars whole computer system all over again, I researched this issue and found that the issue is rampant with this year and model, not only is it expensive to fix (4k) the part alone is over 1k. If the system was to fail while driving it would pose a significant danger to myself and others as I would not be able to brake, or if I drive in wet weather the system could fail on me again. Everyone that owns this model has the same issue. Once it happens it is said that it will happen every 30000 miles or so. I bought the car in 2024; I hadn't even had it a year before the system failed and I have not been able to drive the car since March 2025. I think issues involving the cars abs should automatically be a recall. Now I feel like I am stuck with a car payment for a car I can't even drive because the brake system failed, and will continue to fail over and over, even if I could drive it I would be scared to. If the car senses and accident or spinout and the abs fails and locks up that's dangerous. I can't afford to fix this issue multiple times no one should have to go through this when buying a car as luxury and expensive as Lexus is. The car is too old for the lemon law but I bought a lemon, as big as this issue is this should have been a recall. Please help. . .

I was on the exit for union turnpike on the gcp at a good 40 miles per hour when boom a whole bunch of lights popped up on the dash saying see dealer and 3 lights come on the top right. By the grace of god the car infront of me was very far and I was able to drop the car into manual mode drop gears while turning wheels slowly go into bumps and I slowed down when I came around the corner to a full stop that’s when I had my tow guy grab the car and drop me and the car home.

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the negligence and lack of accountability demonstrated by Lexus manufacturer in addressing a serious and persistent brake issue in my vehicle, which directly threatens my safety and that of others on the road. Despite repeated attempts to resolve this matter, Lexus has failed to provide a lasting solution or accept responsibility for this critical defect. I have taken my vehicle to multiple authorized dealers, all of whom confirmed the issue and recommended contacting the manufacturer. Following this advice, I reached out to Lexus manufacturer directly, only to be met with evasive responses, deflection, and an utter lack of action. Issue description the brakes on my vehicle have consistently failed to function as expected, even after repairs performed by Lexus-certified dealers. This suggests either a fundamental defect in the braking system or inadequate repair protocols by the manufacturer’s representatives. Such a failure in an essential safety system puts me, my passengers, and others on the road in imminent danger. Legal and ethical responsibilities under the national traffic and motor vehicle safety act (49 u. S. C. Chapter 301), manufacturers are legally obligated to ensure that their vehicles meet safety standards and to address any defects that pose a risk to public safety. Lexus's failure to rectify this issue or initiate a recall contravenes these obligations. Furthermore, the federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) outlines specific performance requirements for braking systems (fmvss no. 105 and fmvss no. 135 for hydraulic and electric brakes, respectively). Lexus's apparent inability or unwillingness to ensure compliance with these standards raises serious questions about its commitment to safety. Evidence: enclosed with this complaint are: correspondence with Lexus manufacturer, documenting my attempts to seek resolution.
The battery died and we have replaced it with 3 new batteries and something keeps draining the battery. We have had multiple mechanics come and try to figure out what is going on with it, checked the alternator, checked every fuse, checked everything and no one can figure it out.
I brought my car to kendall Lexus for repairs as well as a recall on the starter solenoid. They charged me about $1,200 for these repairs, including the installation of a new starter. Unfortunately, the newly installed starter failed within a month of its replacement, causing significant inconvenience and safety concerns. Upon discovering the issue, I immediately contacted kendall Lexus to report the problem. They agreed to have the car towed back to their dealership for further inspection and resolution. However, instead of taking responsibility for the faulty part they had installed, they had someone from Toyota contact me, stating that they wouldn’t address the problem due to my car’s age and referencing “loose wires” as the potential cause despite the fact that they were the last ones under the hood and had no problem with wiring or the age of the vehicle until they were asked to repair a faulty part they installed. I was shocked by this response, as my vehicle was in good running condition when I initially brought it to kendall Lexus. It is evident that the dealership is unwilling to rectify their mistake and provide the necessary repairs. Furthermore, their customer service has severely deteriorated since I made the initial payment. Despite numerous attempts to contact kendall Lexus and seek clarification on their refusal to honor their warranty on the faulty part, I have received no response. This lack of communication is not only frustrating but raises doubts about their commitment to customer satisfaction and fair business practices. I believe that I deserve a fair resolution to this matter, which includes rectifying the defective starter and providing the necessary repairs without additional charges. Moreover, kendall Lexus must improve.

Electronic power steering system failure. Currently at dealership for repair. Loss of steering while driving could have caused serious harm. Fortunately, the failure occurred at startup time in driveway at home. Dealer has confirmed the electronic power steering system failure. Currently only dealer has inspected failed component. I had a maintenance service required alert prior to steering failure. Dealer performed 50k maintenance, replaced battery, alignment, and va state inspection on 01/04/2023. After driving car back home, 12 miles later, the electronic power steering failed.

I was driving and my steering locked up and my check vsc light came on, and check power steering system came on and told me to check with dealer. If someone can please contact me ASAP would be wonderful and appreciated. . Thank you.
The vehicle exhibited 3 episodes of premature battery failure. Mileage of the vehicle is 6000 miles. Without any warning the car would just not start from a gas pump or such locations in the middle of the road. This is a dangerous problem because there was no warning that the battery is running low or there is any problem. Car runs 100 miles every day. Lexis dealership diagnosed battery failure and replace the battery but this is a safety issue particularly because it happens in the middle of the night when you are driving in a remote location and gas pumps tell you to switch off engine before filling and there is no warning sign to indicate that there is a problem with the battery this should be investigated as a safety issue.

Tl the contact owns a 2007 Lexus Ls. While driving approximately 30 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal and found it harder to depress than normal. The contact had to use an excessive amount of pressure to apply the brakes and the vehicle hesitated before coming to a stop. In addition, several unknown warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel and there was a continuous beeping noise coming from the dashboard. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and dealer were not made aware of the failures. The approximate failure mileage was 73,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2018 Lexus Ls. The contact stated that the vehicle was equipped with a pre-collision system, which was supposed to aid in preventing a crash. In the event of a crash, it released the hood of the vehicle. While driving approximately 45 mph, the contact was cut off by another vehicle. The contact depressed the brake pedal immediately and the pre-collision system activated. As a result, the hood of the vehicle released. The contact took the vehicle to jim hudson Lexus (located at 3410 washington rd, augusta, GA 30907, 706-650-9999) and was infomred that the diagnostic box indicated that a collision was not detected. The dealer diagnosed that the vehicle's pre-collision system needed to be reprogrammed and the actuators needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer stated that they would not be able to perform the repair. The approximate failure mileage was 6,300.
Air bag light stay on once car is running there seems to be a shorts in the electrical system the speakers have no sounds coming through them and the rear executive council in the back seat as no power and the head lights on the driver side go off and on at times I replaced the fuse for the speaker but it blow out as soon as I put the new one in.
My 2007 Ls460 Lexus with 100k miles has a failed brake actuator assembly ascertained by a Lexus and Toyota dealer. This was a confronted problem by Toyota for failure of the o rings within the assembly. The actuator abruptly went out while on the highway at 70mph causing brake fluid to not go to the right calipers. There is a recall for 150 k mi or 10 years, whichever occurs first. However. My Lexus was out of warranty in may, 2018 and they will not offer any help whatsoever because my warranty expired aprox. 1 year ago.
The collision avoidance system blows fuses and stops working, but the light on the dash continues to indicate that everything is working. In other words, there is no way to learn that the collision system is offline unless you're willing to simulate a near certain collision (which I did with the dealer in my car and he finally acknowledged the problem), or having an actual accident. This is clearly a design flaw. If the fuse is blown, obviously the system should show an error when it's engaged - not a green indicator.
My Lexus Ls460 spontaneously started on fire in a public parking lot. No warning lights ,no known car problems. I had parked my car to run into a store. When I turned it off it made a loud repetitive clacking sound. I turned it back on and turned it off again. Same thing. I turned it back on and tried to back up but it stalled. Started to smell. . . Something was burning and smoke was coming from the engine under the hood. Became very clear that the engine was on fire. I called 911 and the fire department responded. Afterwards, I asked them if they could tell how it started . . . They said no but it was electrical. I will have a report from the fire department in a week.

Abs actuator is malfunctioning/ dysfunctional. I spoke with the dealer and they stated the part was recalled.
While driving, the navigation monitor screen has gone black and reset 10 to 15 times. When this happened, on 2 to 4 occasions, a red "electric power steering warning light" comes on for a few seconds and the steering hesitates. This happened while driving on I-5 at 60+ mph. It didn't happen after I slowed down to less than 50 mph.
Brake malfunction error was shown on the speedometer screen with five lights (abs, vsc, brake, traction control light, and warning light). The brake pedal became very soft and the vehicle came to abrupt stops. On other occasions the brake pedal became hard as a rock and also made the vehicle come to a jerking stop. Pulsation and noise were also noted. Dealer advised that the brake actuator part (44050-50110) was the cause of the malfunction and noise. Lexus tech and advisor noted that this is a a very common issue on this particular model - 2007 Ls460.
