The trunk deck lid on my 2001 Lexus Ls430 will not stay open. The trunk struts have failed. The car has only 77,000 miles on it. The problem started approximately 12 months ago with 63,000 miles. The trunk deck lid has fallen on my head.

2 Structure problem of the 2003 Lexus LS430

Failure Date: 05/01/2009

Failure of rear trunk struts causing trunk to come down sharply on back of my head causing pain and bruising. The same happened to my wife on two other occasions. Approximate dates given below as form does not conform to several dates.

3 Structure problem of the 2003 Lexus LS430

Failure Date: 09/28/2008

Trunk strut failed after only about 3 years. My dad gave me the car and he was just willing to live with it, as he is very ill the car had passed the 4-year, 50,000 mile point, but I was struck by the falling trunk and wish it repaired.

4 Structure problem of the 2005 Lexus LS430

Failure Date: 12/23/2005

The wheels on this car accumlate corrosion and cause the tires to go flat while driving. Lexus doesn't seem concerned with this defect.
