Brakes Failed problems of the 2007 Lexus LS460

Two problems related to brakes failed have been reported for the 2007 Lexus LS460. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 04/03/2018

Brake system failure code 1391 indicating the brake accumulator and/or actuator, when applying brake front end shimmys to a point where control of car can be lost. Lexus extended recall to 12/17 however the problem is a definite safety issue and there are many complaints on line about this problem. The problem in most cases can arise at 80,000-up miles and cost is prohibitive at about $3500, this should have been a safety recall since there is so much documentation about this problem. I contacted Lexus and they had no answer but to say the extended warranty is expired.

2 Brakes Failed problem

Failure Date: 02/08/2018

The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Ls460l. While driving 45 mph, the brake actuator fractured. When the brake pedal was depressed, it traveled to the floorboard. The vehicle was taken to nalley Lexus galleria (2750 cobb pkwy south east, smyrna, GA 30080) where it was diagnosed that the brake actuator failed and needed replacement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that the vehicle's extended warranty had expired. No further assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 86,000.
