Cruise Control Problems of Lexus LS460

Automobile hesitates, then surges under normal driving conditions. The car feels as if it is shifting into neutral, then into gear, while in normal driving mode, causing a sudden unexpected acceleration. This problem has been demonstrated 1. Normal city driving with no additional throttle applied. 2. Freeway driving with no additional throttle applied. 3. Freeway driving with cruise control. 4. When starting from a dead stop 5. When accelerating to merge into traffic this issue occurs in all driving modes (eco, normal, power). It is intermittent, but has been increasing in frequency. Because this problem is intermittent, the throttle response is unpredictable. It has caused several near misses when accelerating from a dead stop, almost hitting car in front. It has also made merging on to freeway dangerous due to hesitation and no response from accelerator. This has been an ongoing problem and has been reported to the Lexus dealer since 5,000 mile service. After complaints at every service (car now has 25,000 miles), dealer kept car for two weeks for diagnostics. Results of diagnostics as follows: "at 70mph with acceleration in eco mode),felt two down shifts during acceleration which gives the sensation that there is no acceleration, then sudden acceleration. This acceleration is not as great in regular mode but can still be felt. This is a normal action of the transmission operation. No repairs performed needed or recommended. ".
