Car Accelerates On Its Own Problems of Lexus RX

On September 18,2019 @~12pm while parking my 2007 Lexus Rx 350 driving at very low speed <5 mph the vehicle suddenly accelerated hopped a curb and I went into the road. Thankfully I didn't crash or hit anyone. Mileage at time was 52549. I read on here other people had similar issues. I didn't see any recalls for this problem on my vehicle. My floor mats are no where need the gas pedal. The mats are locked in place by the pin. They don't move. I plan to take the car to Lexus dealership. They must be aware of this issue.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Lexus Rx8. The contact stated that while entering a parking space, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and crashed into a wall. There was extensive front end damage to the vehicle. No one was injured and the police were not notified. The vehicle was towed to an auto body shop for repairs. The manufacturer was notified who advised that the investigation of the failure would take thirty days to complete. The contact stated the vehicle was given back to her after the body damage was repaired but the memory card that was retrieved was not inspected to determine the cause of the acceleration failure. Tl- the contact owns a 2002 Lexus Rx300. The contact stated that while parking vehicle, there was an abnormal increase in engine rpms as the vehicle accelerated independently. The vehicle jumped the curb and crashed into a fence before coming to a complete stop. The air bags did not deploy and the contact suffered injuries to the right shoulder. The vehicle was not destroyed. The contact called the manufacturer and the manufacturer sent a technician to examine the vehicle failure. The technician stated that because there were two flat tires on the vehicle due to the sudden acceleration, the vehicle could not be properly examined. The failure mileage was 135,000. While backing out of my parking place in our underground garage I put on the brake to go from reverse to drive. When I put the vehicle in drive the engine raced up and the car surged forward. I was only 15 feet from a brick wall of which I hit at an angle. I bounced off this wall and went 10 feet further head on into another wall. I did not touch the gas petal, the mats are rubber and were not a problem. The vehicle just suddenly accelerated. The air bags did not deploy and I shut the engine off as soon as I could but given the fact that the total travel length was around 30 feet this was not possible. This is a know problem with Toyota!! we love our car but we are now afraid of it. My insurance rates will be going up because of a factory defect and all I have seen are excuses in regards to this problem.

Rapid acceleration as I released the gas pedal as I parked my car - took out a 6 foot bush. I was interviewed on 10news san diego concerning this incident I took the auto to my Lexus dealer/a diagnostic and a test drive were done and everything checked out negative. The dealer told me they could not do anything to help me since the diagnostics were negative.
