Takata recall - when I checked under Lexus to see if my vehicle was listed it was but when I put in the VIN number it said o - so I'm confused why would it say yes under Lexus but not under the VIN number ? is it safe ?.
Takata recall I have been waiting months for the repair to this and my other Lexus. At the least Lexus should be providing a safe comparable vehicle as a replacement until my two vehicles are repaired.

Takata recall. Vehicle was taken to hoffman Lexus, east hartford, connecticut for recall service on November 11, 2015. Vehicle was determined to be rebuilt. Dealer is unable to effect repair due to mismatched ecu and air bag. Dealer has requested direction from Lexus engineering. Lexus engineering has failed to respond to dealer request for over four weeks. Dealer refuses to release vehicle citing safety liability. I want my car back in safe condition.
Parts are on back order and dealer requires that I bring in the car to "link" it to the back order and then they will schedule an appointment. . . This is unacceptable. They have my VIN; why should I have to physically drive far out of my way to schedule an appointment?.

Received recall notice and scheduled appointment for air bag recall to be repaired. The Lexus dealer held the car for four days before realizing they did not have the parts to make the repair. We were told to pick up the car and they could not tell us when the parts would be available to remedy the recall defect. The notice says not to operate the car with a passenger until the repairs are complete.
