Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator Problems of Lexus SC430

Takata inflators or potential of ruptured inflator on passenger side airbag. I have not been contacted regarding this recall as of yet and I do see this recall was issued in may of 2015. Please note nothing has happened but my car has not been repaired and I have not received any communication on the recall as of yet.

A safety recall notice (interim notice) was issued for the front passenger air bag inflator on my vehicle on may 18, 2015. My Lexus dealer in maui, hawaii, assured me they had the necessary repair parts for my vehicle so I brought the vehicle in for service September 22, 2015. After I dropped the car off, the service manager later called me to explain that they do not have the repair parts for my vehicle and, in fact, have been unable to determine from Lexus what parts are needed or when they will be available. This has been an open issue for four months now, with no resolution date in sight. The safety recall notice has advised me "until the remedy becomes available, we recommend that you do not operate the vehicle with an occupant in the front passenger seat. " this is a two-seater vehicle, meaning I can carry no passengers until the potential defect is remedied. Can you please assist me?.

I had the safety recall, concerning the airbag inflator module, done on my car but now the airbag sensor light stays on.

Tl- the contact owns a 2002 Lexus Sc430. The contact had received the recall repair for the air bag. The vehicle had extensive interior and some exterior damages after the repairs. The damages were to the dashboard, damaged the paint, scratched the tinted windows, the hood, leather seats in which the authorized dealer had agreed to fix. The air bag inflator assembly kit and cosmetic damages had been repaired. The cosmetic damages had been caused by the mechanics who had repaired the vehicle. The sensor light had illuminated at random after the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 71000. Dyd.
