The contact owns a 2003 Lincoln Aviator. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the air bag light illuminated and the drivers side air bag deployed. The contact was not injured during the deployment of the airbag. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to notify her insurance company. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that a wiring issue caused the failure. The dealer was awaiting a new airbag to perform repairs. The failure mileage was 65,000.
