36 Body problem of the 2005 Lincoln Aviator

Failure Date: 11/26/2008

Rear panel has a crack in it. . . . SUV was never in a accident. . . It just appeared. I had my truck at a Lincoln dealership for other things and asked the manager about this crack. . . He told me that I am not the only person that has complained and the company knows about it but won't do anything until that have enough people that complain. . . . I purchased this truck for not pennies and expect someone to rectify the problem. Unfortunately nothing has been done and I am very disappointed in the manufacturer. . . They should stand by the product they sell. . . Very upset.

37 Body problem of the 2004 Lincoln Aviator

Failure Date: 10/30/2008

Our 2004 Lincoln Aviator has developed a small 6 inch crack in the plastic surrounding and below the back window. When contacting the dealer we were told that this is a known problem but Ford refuses to do anything about it. We were then told to call Ford directly and were told that yes they know about it but they are not offering any help to customers. In researching this problem online there are 100's if not 1,000's of forum posts discussing this defect. A primary forum would be on the edmunds car site. My issue is that this crack could not be caused by anything but a defect and therefore Ford should be liable. The location is such that debris, etc. Could not cause this crack. Ford has quoted us over $ 1,000 to fix their problem and until we do the car is now suspect to water damage if it were to rain. Thank you .

38 Body problem of the 2003 Lincoln Aviator

Failure Date: 01/01/2006

There is a crack below my back window that causes lots of air to come in and also lots of water leaks and when it rains I have small children and the dealership is unable to work with me to get this repaired it gets very cold in there with all the cold air that comes in with my small children hopefully something can be done for the amount that we paid on this vehicle.

39 Body problem of the 2005 Lincoln Aviator

Failure Date: 12/30/2005

I purchased a 2005 Lincoln Aviator brand new. I have the same problem as many others with the crack. Told Ford Lincoln Mercury about it the first cold season for the car, 2005/2006. Although I heard and saw several other complaints for the same issue Ford has done nothing. Now the gate won’t close, the window won’t close because the mechanism has corroded allowing it to open on its own. There is no security with the vehicle now and this is extremely dangerous! even better my glass company ordered replacement 07/31/2014 and I still have not seen it. I spoke with jonathan, lois and their supervisor at Ford customer care relations who was of no help. They can't answer when the glass will come in. They give dates it may be available but will not guaranty.
