My 2019 Lincoln Continental has been displaying an adaptive steering failure message for over 8 months now. I have taken the vehicle to multiple dealership and they just tell me the part is on back order. I have contracted the Lincoln office 888-214-2155 three times now 9/2/24, 10/10/24, 10/30/24, and just get the same answer. Someone will call me back. I never get a call back. My case # with Lincoln is [xxx]. The owners manual says that it is not safe to drive the vehicle with this issue however the dealer ship tell me it's ok. What can I do to escalate this?? information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Recently purchased this vehicle, it’s got a different problem all the time usually electronics. The other day I was in a fender bender because I’m driving with the steering wheel 30-45 degrees to the right just so I can drive safe. I'm writing from lithuania, several month ago I bought Lincoln Continental 2017 after small accident. I ship it to lithuania, repaired it and find out why accident happened. . After all body repair (yes, only body was damaged), all dtc codes clear I take car for test drive, and after ~20ml of drive in city on one of sharp turn my Continental steering wheel locked by itself! I almost hit incoming traffic car, then I understand why accident happens for this car in USA. I'm electronic specialist, so I have knowledge and all equipment for such diagnosis work like this. So I start to clear trouble codes in control unit's, everything was ok except one. . "adaptive steering fault service required" this error pop up came on every time when car start's. . I start to look what causing it, and found that I'm getting present error is secm module u3000 or "internal electronic failure". Then I read shadow memory of that unit and found live data witch indicate that steering wheel was turned to the right side the side on the damaged body and steering wheel stuck and locked in that position. . Because driver loose possibility to steer. First then I start to search information about this error I was sure that accident caused it, but I found Ford edge this model use same adaptive steering system like Continental forum where a lot of guys writing and adding videos how they steering wheel is misaligned and they driving on straight road and that car's has 5k-10kml. I found one guy who also said that under sharp corner his steering wheel lock's. . But he managed to stop safely. Another big problem for me is that in lithuania we dont have Lincoln dealership, only Ford, and lithuania Ford don't know what to do with this problem, they recommend me to contact with Ford USA to get help from them, but no luck still now. . . I'm adding diagnosis scan report and dash photo of error.
I'm a new owner I only had the car for two years and the steering wheel feels funny when I'm driving or turning the wheel and I hear a noise when I turn it .

I was backing out of my garage at home and when I turned my steering wheel, the left front spring broke and shredded the inside of the tire. I checked the area that the spring broke, and it was clean, unrusted metal, there was no sign of an impending failure, just a sudden break.

The car always beeps overheats and loses steering.
My vehicle is a Lincoln LS. Leased new in April 2002 with 6ml. On it. Has been in for numerous repairs, the car has been gutted and put back together. Dealership claims that the airbag module was replaced. It took approx. 7 months to get Ford to buy back the car. They were undoubtedly aware they could count on my caving after making premium payments and insurance for almost a year on a car that was not fit to drive. As soon as I hired an attorney they dug their heels in farther. I settled just to get the lemon out of my driveway, and to free up my funds to get another car. Ford motor company handled my situation very unprofessionally and with no regard to my safety. At this point I would only hope that they will have to register this vehicle for resale with a record of the defects and not simply a buy back with no explanation.
