Consumer request for Ford to buy back 2004 Lincoln Ls which is experiencing problems with acceleration. ** answer required***. The vehicle would stop accelerating, jerk and on several occasions, go into limp home mode. The dealer could not find anything wrong with the vehicle. The consumer requested Ford to replace or a refund since the problem could not be fixed. The vehicle also displayed the following; when the cruise was on the vehicle would skip, the wrench light illuminated and the cruise would not work at that time, after a cold start, the wrench light illuminated and the engine had gone into limp mode. The left turn signal would not cancel at times, the dealer replaced the multi-function switch.
The consumer constantly experienced acceleration problems. The vehicle jerked and would not accelerate. This problem occurred while being driven on the highway. The consumer was advised that the problem was the electronic throttle control. When the cruise was on the vehicle would skip, when returning to the center from a left turn the signal would not cut off at times, the engine would race at low speeds and did not accelerate properly, and the engine would go into limp mode.
Was coming home from the store I was going 55mph and out of no where the headlights turn off. . . .
