2 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 12/09/2025

Battery drain issues - causing faulty modules on driver side door which include the safety belts modules, rear lift gate as well as black panel screen. Poor engine performance and warning lights like the check engine light come on and off intermittently. I have replaced the battery several times and having various modules problems some have come up as air bags, and abs brakes modules. Lincoln knows about the problems and so far, is not able to fix the problems that causes the battery to drain, which causes all the faulty modules. Really don't expect anything like a recall, but this is now documented to warned others. If the modules don't work properly, the sensors will not work correctly either in the vehicles. There are over 20+ modules in the Mkc that work with the sensors. Thank you for at least reading.

Failure Date: 01/21/2025

The battery sensor module is faulty. I have to go out every morning and jump start my car. I have replaced the battery twice withing 7 months so I know it's not the battery. When I took it to the dealer Ford/Lincoln dealer near me and asked about the sensor recall, they said that it was likely the cause. This way back in June and they still say the parts are on back order for over 7 months. I have full warranty on the vehicle and have to jump start it if it hasn't been drove withing 8-10 hours. Even let it run yesterday for 45 minutes so it would be okay this morning. Lights won't even come on. Had to manually unlock the doors with the key to even get the cars eat out of the car.

11 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 08/22/2024

The back up camera does not work. I don't know the exact date when it began not working, but it's been many months. This may be due to a faulty electrical or computer system. Occasionally, an error message will appear on screen which states the obvious -- that the camera is not working -- and to contact the dealer. I received a recall notice in the mail on may 9, 2025, but the repair parts are still not available (August 22, 2025), which is 15 weeks after I received the recall notice. This is an excessive amount of time to wait. Since so much time has passed, it seems quite possible that the manufacturer does not intend to ever repair this defect as it is an older vehicle. This is worthy of investigation. At the very least, a status update should be given to owners.

12 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 04/05/2024

13 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 03/30/2024

On multiple occasions when filling the car with gas the entire vehicle begins to shake and shuts off. There is no light or warning that comes on prior to this happening. During the malfunction a light on the left side of the control panel says to push the break for full power. However despite pressing on break it takes several attempts ( 5-10 ) to restart the vehicle. It stutter starts several times before starting and being forced into drive. This only happens when re fueling. I have added gas treatments as suggested with no relief. Last night the car powered down completely when I arrived home. The lights would not come on nor would the key unlock the doors and the power locks would not work to unlock the doors. Although this did not happen on the road while driving, I am afraid for the possibility that it can. I will take the vehicle to be inspected as I see a similar complaint here but no specific recall for this issue .

15 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 10/23/2023

My 2016 Lincoln Mkc has a recall. Recall was mailed to me and I called closest Lincoln dealership to begin process. Dealership stated part was on back order and I would get a call when it comes in. I called a few weeks later and still no luck. I attempted calling several times with no luck. Fast forward 2-3 months after calling, I’m driving with my son and out of nowhere the car begins to stall while driving and fumes start coming out from air vents. It was an awful and strong smell. As I pulled over the check engine and battery light came on. I had vehicle towed to dealership which they return with a catalytic converter code. I paid to get replaced and get a call that car is good to go, but recall part is still not available. Picked up my vehicle and didn’t make it more than . 5 miles I realized my car is stalling and will not go past 40mph. Take it back, employees look dumbfounded and ask me to leave car and they will get back to me. I get a call a week later stating I need a pigtail connector and all will be fixed. They change it out, I go pick up my car and still same condition. Leave dealership and wait on another call stating it is a whole electrical wire harness which needs to be changed. I am told last week that it would be $1900 to repair! I still do not have my car back and feel as if it is a guessing game at my expense!.

29 Electrical System problem of the 2019 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 06/03/2023

Https://abc7chicago. Com/Ford-Lincoln-mkc-SUV-recall-fire-concerns/13337855/ the issue stems from a battery monitoring sensor that, because of where it's placed in the vehicle, could get damaged when the battery or electric components around it are serviced. The damage could cause a short circuit that, because there's no fuse in the circuitry, could lead to overheating and a fire. The vehicles involved are model year 2015 through 2019 Lincoln Mkc suvs I am reporting this because of the article that was distributed (above). Per your site, I do not have a recall. Per the Lincoln dealer I do, but they cannot allow me to come in for remediation due to not having guidance from Lincoln yet. Raising further awareness that this is an issue.

30 Electrical System problem of the 2019 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 06/01/2023

In June of 2023, a potential fire recall was issued. Contacted two dealerships, was told no parts available. In August 2023, a second notice regarding fire (whether car is running or parked). Called dealer and was told “no parts yet, out on wait list, no idea when parts will come in. ” called several times.

31 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 05/31/2023

Recall was issued on may 31, 2023 for this problem. As of this date, Jan 19, 2024 this recall has not been completed. All I get from factory and dealers is that the part is not available. The recall says that parts are available. As the recall notice states, "park vehicle outside until repairs are completed". As it has been approx 8 months, this became a nuisance long ago. I would just like to know when and if this recall, repair will be made. Thank you, david johnston.

32 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 04/22/2023

The rear backup camera nor working properly (show no lines and display the opposite sides).

33 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 01/12/2023

In 2019 I bought a used 2016 Lincoln Mkc reserve 2. 0 ecoboost engine w 34k miles. In 4 years I've driven 11,400k miles. A few weeks ago my vehicle would not start. I had a tow to a Ford retailer because the service tech at a Lincoln retailer informed me they were backed up having 10 vehicles waiting to replace failed ecoboost engines all with coolant leaks most likely I would need the same. After the $400 diagnostics I was told that I needed a new engine! unlike the Lincoln tech, fords would not discuss anything about all the news, recalls or tsbs on failed ecoboost engines. My powertrain warranty had recently expired well under mileage I would be responsible to pay. My Mkcs decline happened suddenly and rapidly went downhill. First I noticed it was loud at start up which was odd and was running very rough. I checked underside and the rear to see if something was hanging and noticed a bluish gray smoke come out of exhaust for under a minute then then all symptoms cleared. Next for the 1st time a check engine light came on which indicated a misfire in cylinder 4. Finally I had no heat in the cabin yet the engine was starting to overheat this time the check engine light was blinking rapidly while driving at night in the freezing cold with my young daughter with me. It was very dangerous with supercold tempuratures being winter in the northeast with icy roads. I started to smell a chemical burning odor. I have never experienced an overheating engine before in my life. I was scared and panicking not wanting to risk my engine blowing up or catching fire especially with my young child. I had no choice but to put all the windows down and pull over on the side of the road which had no sidewalks.  the hood was very hot to touch. Next I am under the hood with a flashlight to check the fluids when I first became aware of the coolant reservoir was near empty, which explained the lack of heat and overheating. I owe $10k and it will cost $10k to replace fords faulty engine.

34 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 01/02/2023

My car has had an engine light that comes on goes off throwing a code for cylinder one misfire since January 2023. It was 'repaired' at the dealership that I bought it from and they replaced the spark plugs and the coil and that did not stop the light from coming on and going on. I took it to another service center in my town and had it checked one of the times that the engine light was on and they used a camera and ran it through the system and found nothing wrong. It has now started to consume large amounts of coolant but I am not seeing a leak on the ground. I do not know where the coolant is going, I am now worried that it is going into the engine. I did purchase a warranty on the engine with the car but the Lincoln dealership nearest to me will not accept the warranty because it is not a Ford/Lincoln warranty. I don't know what else to do am at a loss.

35 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 01/01/2023

Battery: the battery monitor system seems to be damaged. It keeps shutting down my systems saying to preserve battery. And when and if my sensors go off, they have a different sound as if it's not receiving enough power to notify me of potential danger. Also, when I'm listening to my radio with the engine off, the car shuts down everything giving a display indication that there's something wrong with the battery and electrical system. All systems seem to be weakened, and lacking full power and fully assisting in which it was intended and designed. Back-up camera: camera consistently goes black or blank when I'm in reverse. Sometimes it displays momentarily and then blacks out upon my reversing. There has been several incidents where I have come close to hitting someone backing out/up/in, as the rear view camera with blank out while doing so. Also at times there is no too close warning from the camera or sensors around. (note) please be advised that the above-mentioned does not in any way constitute, or is limited to the complete experience and or exposure to the safty ongoing issues that exsist. Thank you, for your immediate assistance.
