2 Equipment problem of the 2018 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 12/24/2025

I was driving home from work on December 24th 2025 and my 2018 Lincoln Mkc 2. 3l shut off on me while I was in motion. There were several cars that had to swerve and not hit me. The car would not start but I was able to put the vehicle in neutral and roll to the shoulder of the road. I was very scared and angry because this vehicle only has 54,646 miles currently, give or take 50 miles. I had to get the towed to my home. This needs to be resolved and fird/Lincoln needs to faithfully fix this dangerous defect, I could have died. Please please do something because I do not want anyone else to deal with this.

5 Equipment problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 06/13/2025

Symptoms consistent with TSB 19-2346 for 2. 0l ecoboost engines: coolant in cylinders, white exhaust smoke and check engine light is on. I have to keep topping off the coolant weekly, engine light comes and goes with same errors. Went to a general mechanic who got error codes po301-00 and po316-00. Currently scheduled next week to see an engine mechanic. Available for inspection upon request. Has not put us in danger yet but is of major concern due to potential for failure, so we are having it seen to ASAP. We don't have a Ford dealership so nearby to go out there with a failing car just to have them verify that yes that is the issue and yes it will be a very expensive repair we could not afford if we did it with them. Despite very low mileage it is still past warranty date, so any goodwill would have to come after we go through the trouble of bringing our vehicle in and hoping for the best. We called and they couldn't even provide any kind of ballpark likelyhood of goodwill.

6 Equipment problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 06/03/2025

The rear-view camera malfunctions at times & displays a blue screen on the in-car monitor that states "camera unavailable". Other times the image in the monitor will be wavy. This problem seems to be exacerbated by warmer temperatures. This problem has not been inspected by anyone.

7 Equipment problem of the 2019 Lincoln MKC

8 Equipment problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 05/07/2025

Within 4 months, I’ve spent $12k on transmission replacement (refurb. ) (metallics in the fluid), fuel injectors, etc. The check engine light is still on…now im told that coolant is leaking into my engine, and the engine needs replaced! (coolant intrusion) another $9k for parts and labor! I just paid the car off! ive kept up with repairs and service! ive done everything the dealer has suggested…except replace the engine! I’m still recovering from the cost of the transmission! the 2017 Lincoln Mkc with a 2. 0l ecoboost engine has a known defect where coolant leaks into the engine cylinders, often causing misfires, overheating, or engine failure. This issue, linked to faulty engine block and cylinder head design, typically requires engine replacement ($5,000-$9,500). Ford issued TSB 22-2229 but no recall. A class-action lawsuit is ongoing. Check warranty status; report to NHTSA.

Water is in spare tire well.

13 Equipment problem of the 2019 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 12/28/2024

On my 2019 Lincoln Mkc, which has 53,000 miles, the weather adhesive on one side of the moon/sunroof has come loose. The entire assembly is nearly detached, and I suspect this is a manufacturing defect, considering the car is relatively new and has low mileage. While I was driving on the highway, the roof could have come completely loose and potentially hit someone, which raises significant safety concerns regarding this manufacturer issue.

14 Equipment problem of the 2018 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 10/04/2024

I purchased the automobile on [xxx] with 44,175 miles. When the engine light came on recently, I took it to the Lincoln dealer here in las vegas, paid $205 for the computer to be assessed, and was told the problem was coolant leaking into the engine. They were not able to start any repairs at that time. I was not told what it would cost to repair or the time involved. I assumed it was an air conditioning problem. I drove it a few days and the engine light went off, only to come back on. I then took it to aaa ($177 for the diagnosis), reporting that cylinder 3 had coolant leaking. Tech found TSB 19-2172 TSB. 19-2172 is for current symptoms of misfire at start-up. It was suggested that I take it to the Lincoln dealer. While driving the car home on [xxx], the engine was missing, chugging. I was afraid it would stall. I am thankful it did not stall on the freeway and that I made it home safely. When I called the Lincoln dealer to make an appointment to take the car in for service, I was told it would take three or four weeks to get it repaired, that the engine would have to be replaced for $7,800 - $9,800, and that Lincoln motor company will not take any responsibility. He said there were two other vehicles in line with the same problem. Due to being afraid to drive it, I had the car towed by aaa on Monday, October 7, 2024, to the Lincoln dealer and was told the estimate to repair it would be $8,493. This is a coolant intrusion issue due to a faulty design in the engine block where the cooling channels will crack and leak coolant into the piston chambers. As gleaned from the internet, this appears to have been an ongoing problem with this model. I've observed so far from the internet that Lincoln motor company is not taking responsibility for this faulty design affecting many Lincoln owners. I am [xxx], and living on a fixed income. I had to rent a car and put up a $735 deposit. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

15 Equipment problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 09/19/2024

We tried calling the dealers they stated they are not able to fix it and don't know whe. They will. The back up camera starts shutting off ,going black while reversing. Lights inside car while driving will shut off. It has been happening since 2022 recently 2 weeks ago.

16 Equipment problem of the 2015 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 08/22/2024

The back up camera does not work. I don't know the exact date when it began not working, but it's been many months. This may be due to a faulty electrical or computer system. Occasionally, an error message will appear on screen which states the obvious -- that the camera is not working -- and to contact the dealer. I received a recall notice in the mail on may 9, 2025, but the repair parts are still not available (August 22, 2025), which is 15 weeks after I received the recall notice. This is an excessive amount of time to wait. Since so much time has passed, it seems quite possible that the manufacturer does not intend to ever repair this defect as it is an older vehicle. This is worthy of investigation. At the very least, a status update should be given to owners.

Back up camera failure and problems updating sync module.

18 Equipment problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

The head gasket leaked resulting in having to put in an entirely new engine. The dealer suggested that this was a known issue and that the gasket breaks in the corner. 31 Equipment problem of the 2016 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 01/02/2023

My car has had an engine light that comes on goes off throwing a code for cylinder one misfire since January 2023. It was 'repaired' at the dealership that I bought it from and they replaced the spark plugs and the coil and that did not stop the light from coming on and going on. I took it to another service center in my town and had it checked one of the times that the engine light was on and they used a camera and ran it through the system and found nothing wrong. It has now started to consume large amounts of coolant but I am not seeing a leak on the ground. I do not know where the coolant is going, I am now worried that it is going into the engine. I did purchase a warranty on the engine with the car but the Lincoln dealership nearest to me will not accept the warranty because it is not a Ford/Lincoln warranty. I don't know what else to do am at a loss.
