36 Equipment problem of the 2016 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 07/01/2021

Two things are a problem: 1) when adaptive or regular cruise control is set to a particular speed (any speed) and the increase speed (+) button is pressed once or pushed and held, the vehicle increases speed and does not stop unless cruise control is turned off or the brake pedal is pressed. 2) there are multiple problems associated with the sync system (maps no longer work, bluetooth connection is spotty, delays when turning on and off the radio, system stays on after leaving the vehicle).

When starting the vehicle the wrench light appears and also the advance autotrac warning. Also my signal lights blink very fast. They both go off for awhile and the signal lights blink slow again, but will reappear once starting the vehicle again. Car seems to stall when this happens. Dealer says they can't find and issue and bulbs seem to work fine.

42 Equipment problem of the 2019 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 10/14/2019

Vehicle shut down completely while driving on the highway. The error message "the vehicle has shut down" appearedin on the dashboard. Had there been a transport trailer behind us, we could have been killed. Ford customer service is doing nothing for us. Very disappointing as my mother now has to drive a vehicle that she is afraid to drive. This car is unsafe!.

43 Equipment problem of the 2015 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 05/20/2019

When the car sit in the sun or in direct heat too long, the back-up camera will not work and on the navigation screen, it will say camera not working, contact dealership. When I pull in my garage and or the temperature of the car cool down, then the camera starts back working. It only do this in the summer time. It's going on a several years of doing this. The most day that this happened was on 5/20/19. I took it to the dealership back in 2017 and they wanted me to show proof that day but it didn't happen that day. Dealership have record of me reporting this.

44 Equipment problem of the 2019 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 02/25/2019

The vehicle was recalled. I took the vehicle to the dealer where it was purchased. It was serviced. The engine issue was addressed, so we thought. The repair/replacement parts did not remedy the issue, despite it being in the shop for over 6 months. The problem persists. It is overheating in a 5 minute drive. The local service department is saying there is no other remedy. They keep asking we bring it in for another diagnosis, but the problem is the same as the 47,000 other vehicles that have been recalled by this same issue. We purchased the car and have not been able to use it.

45 Equipment problem of the 2019 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 02/02/2019

While driving the vehicle (since 02/02/19), there is a constant vibration that feels like I'm driving on rumble strips over newly paved roads. When on patched roads, the vehicle shakes so violently, that it feels like the vehicle is going to fall apart. No pics to show or sound from the vehicle. There have been multiple trips the dealership, who initially reported it was a problem with flat spots in the tires, however, after they we changed (with tires from another vehicle on the lot) the problem continued. The next reason was that the vibration was intrinsic to the vehicle. the dealer has rebalanced the tires multiple times which only changes the speed at which the vibration is felt the greatest. The range of speed is 25-50, is less intense from 50-60, and resumes intensity from 60+.

46 Equipment problem of the 2016 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 01/22/2019

My sync software was automatically updated from version 2. 3 to version 3. 0, after that update, my voice recognition and audible navigation turn-by-turn prompts no longer work. After contacting the Ford hotline I was instructed to take the car to my local dealership. After 5 hours diagnosing the problem, they charged me $100 and informed me that I would need to have the apim replaced at an addition cost of $800. I did not have this part replaced. This has caused a serious safety concern in that I can no longer use hands-free mode for controlling the phone or for accessing other voice activated devices such as navigation system, nor do I receive audible prompts while navigating. After googling, I find that this issue is very common . I feel that Ford should repair this problem at no cost to me since they were the ones that caused the problem during their automatic update.

47 Equipment problem of the 2015 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 11/01/2018

Spontaneous acceleration without operator error or participation while the vehicle was in motion. Cruise control was not on at the time. The vehicle just accelerated on its own. Also, windshield wipers increased in speed without operator participation. Each occurrence was unrelated with the other.

48 Equipment problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 01/04/2018

I recently leased a Ford Mkc. It came equipped with side view mirrors that would automatically fold in when the vehicle was close enough to an object where you could get closer for convienence. A good example is when you go through a car wash and the side mirrors Ford in so they do ot get damaged during the car wash. If a person forgets to press the botton to have the mirrors swing back out so a person can drive safely that does not occur automatically. In essense those mirrors are closed and I could be doing 55 and not have access to the side mirrors if I forgot. I believe they should automatically open back up when the vehicle gets to a specific speed like 20-25 miles an hour. I had a BMW that had the same o[ptioon only when it got to 20 miles an hour it automatically put the sideview mirrors where they needed to go. Big safety issue.

49 Equipment problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 11/18/2017

The windshield wipers on the Lincoln Mkc malfunction in the rain. I experienced several instances where, under flood advisory conditions, the windshield wipers did not work. I turned the car on and off several times. I change the wiper automation settings several times and still the wipers would not work. I believe this is a very hazardous issue for anyone driving a 2017 Lincoln Mkc and do not believe it should be taken lightly under any circumstances when lives are at hand. In the above set instance I was driving during the day with rain sleet and snow under flood advisory conditions.

50 Equipment problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 11/05/2017

The car was not on. It was parked in the driveway of a residential home. The lift gate was open. The arm that lifts and supports the lift gate broke suddenly. It sounded like an explosion and a large pressurized spring (greater than 2 feet in length) propelled from the lift gate arm. This spring struck a child in the face with so much force that it knocked him down, with cuts and bruised to the child's face (near the eyes). The force of the spring also caused a damage to the bumper. If this happens again, it has potential to cause significant bodily harm.

51 Equipment problem of the 2015 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 10/09/2017

My Mkc was one of the first manufactured. It came with michelin tires. At 33,000 miles I had to replace a tire due to a nail in the sidewall- it took the dealer 3 weeks to find one. Today I was just told two more tires need to be replaced on the car but they are not available!1 unbelievable! I have a 2015 car that can't be driven because they used michelin tires that can't be bought! Lincoln shoul dbe made to pay for upgraded tires for all 4 wheels now please- I can't wait for weeks to get a tire!.

52 Equipment problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 08/25/2017

A popping sound occurs in the back roof area when the door is open "wake up event" and even when the tailgate is open. After the popping sound, the warning sound for the closing tailgate does not sound. Major safety issue. This car has been in for repair 5 times without resolution. Subwoofer, latch regulator, latch and the tailgate shocks have all been replaced. This occurs with audio off and when the car is off upon entering the car. This issue has been report since first oil change.

53 Equipment problem of the 2017 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 02/16/2017

The engine light came on and then the vehicle started to lose power.

54 Equipment problem of the 2016 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 12/02/2016

Occasional very hard shifting at low speeds, around 25-30 mph while lightly pressing on the gas. Feels/sounds like vehicle being hit from behind. Dealer can never duplicate the problem.

55 Equipment problem of the 2016 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 04/16/2016

My husband and I are leasing a 2016 Lincoln Mkc equipped with a 2. 3 eco-boost engine. Recently lost power while traveling on the highway at 65 mph which was quite frightening. Also occurred traveling up the street from our home while going slowly. Called the dealership where purchased and were told not able to determine the problem. I feel unsafe driving a vehicle where such a problem can occur at any time! we wanted to drive our new Mkc to our vacation destination but obviously that's not going to happen.

56 Equipment problem of the 2015 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 01/05/2015

I live in the midwest and it was cold outside and I was driving home with my brand new state of the art Lincoln. When I was heading home my car indicated low battery, which I assumed would charge as I continued to drive. Next thing I know, everything was turning off (all internal displays, headlights, wipers, steering) due to conserving battery while I was on a major interstate in a blizzard. I thought I was going to die, on the interstate in a blizzard at 60 mph. I finally got over to the side of the road and it went into park. The dealer called and stated it was a bad alternator. Great, my issue is the battery voltage is so low that the combination with temp and alternator everything shut off in such a quick mode it gave me no time to safely exit off the road. The car is not designed to support this situation and I have the cold climate package, this is why we are paying a high price for engineers to do their job and understand how the systems act together. How is the government and manufacture allowing this situation to happen. My life and being a mother to three kids is more important than a small cost reduction.

57 Equipment problem of the 2015 Lincoln MKC

Failure Date: 01/01/2015

This complaint actually encompasses 3 of my Ford/Lincoln vehicles. I cared for the other 2 on my own. Every lug nut needs to be repaired before I can replace my questionable safe tires! this is a manufacturer defect! 3 vehicle needing every lug nut replaced is a joke!! the 'word' is that they are swollen!!! absolutely nothing that I am responsible for. Please investigate. This is a scam and enormous injustice. I think I replace 1 lug nut in my prior 40 years of driving and was because it was broken!!!!.
