The contact stated that while at the dealer for routine maintenance, the mechanic discovered multiple wheel lug nuts had swollen and the wheels could not be removed using the standard wrench supplied by the manufacturer. The contact indicated that the failure was present on each of the four wheels. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The contact was informed that the lug nuts needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 50,400.

The contact stated that upon having the tires serviced by an independent mechanic, the mechanic informed him that all the lug nuts were swollen and difficult to be removed. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was given an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and informed him that they were aware of the failure; however, the parts were on backorder. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 23,480.

Had to replace all 20 lug nuts at one time on my 2015 Lincoln Mkc; described as swollen; "acpz *1012*h 247886 nut.

Cheap two piece lug nut design. The outer shell of the lug nut deforms to the point you can not remove the lug nut. If you get a flat tire you can possibly be stranded due to these defective lug nuts.

I had my Mkc at the dealership to get an oil change and check for an issue with electrical. They were checking the car and they had to replace all 20 lugnuts because they swelled. I think it's absolutely ridiculous that even the dealers say they have problems with those lug nuts and Ford/Lincoln refuses to pay for it! I called who refused to pay for them.
