Wheel Problems of Lincoln MKC

This is my 3rd Ford/Lincoln vehicles that I have needed to replace all lugnuts due to 'swollen' lugnuts! I assure you that I am not soaking them in water. Give me a break. Make them address this issue already. I put in a complaint to nhta for my prior vehicle without resolution. 200-300 dollars to replace. Lincoln complaint desk acknowledges the common complaint and only say that it has been brought to upper managements attention. We all are aware that they will do nothing about it until their hand is pressed! just a note. . Prior to these wholesale lugnut problems, I replaced 1 in my 45+ years of driving. How many have you replaced? cmon already. Rich.

Wheel bearing on driver's side front had to be replaced. It is not available for inspection. Vehicle started making a loud woomp woomp noise near the wheel. My wheel could have seized while driving. The problem was confirmed and resolved by an independent service center. The vehicle was inspected by an independent service center there were no warning lamps or messages prior to the failure. Symptom first appeared July 27, 2024.

Had a flat tire. Tire could not be removed. The tin caps on the lug nuts have swelled. The lug nut wrench that Ford provided would not fit over the lug nuts. The aaa service that came out to help, also could not remove the lug nuts. I don't know how I will be able to get the car inspected. I also don't know how I will be able to have the brakes services or replaced. A very serious potential catastrophe. The equipment that Ford includes, with a car, should be able to do its job. I along with many other people are left with a serious problem. This is a problem Ford is aware of and will do nothing. Many Ford owners have this problem.

I had my winter tires replaced with my summer tires. The repairman told me that the lug nuts were swelling and shouldn’t be put back on the vehicle, they may not be removable if there was a need to do it roadside. They said that this is an extremely prevalent problem with Ford vehicles and Ford was not taking ownership of the problem. They even recommended that I not replace them with oem parts but to buy after market uncapped lug nuts. They had a large box of defective lug nuts sitting in the repair area.

When purchasing new tires today, we were informed that we needed to replace the lug nuts as the lug nut wrench no longer fit the top of the nuts. We were told that they often have this problem with Lincolns and some fords. He said they could "force" the old ones back on, but the next time they would have to be cut off and replaced. We researched this problems and found that others had the same problem. This is not acceptable - especially if out on the road and we get a flat tire. I only wonder if the recent accident when a tire flew off the truck on the freeway and hit another car causing it to flip over was because their lug nuts were "forced" on. This cost us an additional $60 and would have been even more if they would have had to cut the old ones off.

Swollen lug nuts prevent use of correct wrench or supplied wrench to remove wheel. This means inability to change a tire. Needs to be warranted for lug nuts that do not swell.

After less than 26000 miles the tires are reported by Ford maintenance to be woren to a dangerous level when traveling there is a loud noise from tires.

5/1/service wheel alignment and balance. Noted that all 4 wheels were bent 11,677 miles 1 year old. 5/6/18 on trip through canada had 2 parelli cinturato p7 tires with bubbles in the side wall replaced! 12,113 miles 5/7/18 in rochester NY had flat tire had wheel replaced! 12,236 miles tire/wheel combo is unsafe and were told by both dealers that serviced the tires/wheels (Ford/ Lincoln dealers) "your lucky these didn't blow when you were on the highway" no accomidation from Lincoln. Believe that tires/wheels should be replaced or lease waived and allowed to get into a new model without penalty.
