The contact owned a 2011 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 35 mph, another vehicle abruptly pulled in front of her as she t-boned the vehicle. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The other driver had to be removed from the passenger side of their vehicle due to the damage from the accident; the driver was transported to the hospital by ambulance, their injuries were unknown. The contact was able to drive the vehicle home and was taken to the hospital after the accident. The contact was treaded for pain to her neck, head, back, and both pairs of her legs and arms. A police report was filed. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The failure mileage was approximately 127,000.

During the crash the front driver side seat belt failed and did not secure the driver and the driver side air bag did not deploy.
