On a clear day with a temperature of about 65 degrees, had been driving car approximately 25 minutes between 45 to 55 miles per hour, wiht last at least 10 minutes at 55. After turning onto divided highway and driving 55 miles per hour for about 7 minutes, with no warning car stopped responding to accelerator. Had to coast onto shoulder. Kept trying to get accelerator to respond. Tried no foot on accelerator, lightly pressing accelerator and completely depressing accelerator and everything in between finally was able to get car to drive at approximately 20 miles per hour, then car ceased responding to accelerator and stalled. Restarted car and could drive at approximately 1/2 mile per hour even when flooring and or fluttering accelerator. Tried to restart car numerous times and it would start, then immediately stall out. Car then car completely ceased responding to accelerator. Had to have towed and am awaiting response from technician. I initially thought the cause may be a fuel pump, but after reading complaints from Ford edge customers suspect it may be a throttle body issue. Will wait to hear from technician. This was a very dangerous situation dropping from 55 to 0 within less than a minute.
