Brake pedal went to the floor couldnt stop nearly crashed.
I went to put brakes on and didn't have any brakes which created an accident. (9/27/25).
Twice while at a stop light with my foot on the brakes because of an incline, the engine sped up like it was grasping for air and the engine shut down. It started back each time, but the second time, my engine light came on. I called aaa since I am a member and went there for the repair. They diagnosed it as a brake booster problem and printed a copy of the Ford document sent to all us Ford and Lincoln dealers regarding customer satisfaction program 13n02, supplements 2 & 3. Aaa suggested I take it to a Ford/Lincoln dealer and have the repair made under the recall. However, when I contacted Ford/Lincoln, they declined to even look at my car and said the recall was VIN specific and my car was not listed. Interestingly at the dealer and when I called and talked to several people at Ford and then Lincoln, they all asked my mileage. My mileage is 134,000, and 13n02 says it is effective up to 150,000 miles. The Ford document does not mention being VIN specific and my car is listed, a 2011 Mkx with less than 150,000 miles. Your site says there are no open recalls for my car as well. Thanks [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated that while attempting to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The vehicle was driven to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the abs system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
The brakes suddenly became very difficult to depress to make the vehicle come to a stop. Emergency repair was necessary, as driving to the dealer was unsafe. Brake booster was filled with fluid. The car then had to be towed to dealer, where repair required replacement of brake booster, master cylinder, and booster vacuum hoses. There are recalls for this same make, model and year. Though my VIN does not come up in those vehicles covered by the recall, it is the exact same problem.
We had to replace the brake booster. Doing research online I saw that other Lincoln models in the same manufacturing year. A lot had recalls for the brake booster. Our mechanic suggested that we file a complaint with you because the recall should have covered all the Lincoln’s. Thank you.
Brake pedal faded while in traffic. Was able to steer around other cars, got car to repair shop. Originally couldn't replicate issue. After attempting to drive car mechanic was able to find problem. Diagnostic tests said master cylinder was bad. Replaced same and still had fading pedal. Diagnosed as hydraulic control unit (abs braking). Had vehicle towed to Ford dealership for repairs. Replaced hcu no better. Then replaced flex lines at wheels, no better. Finally replaced master cylinder again, and finally fixed braking problems.
The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, she depressed the brake pedal to stop the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to stop as needed. The contact stated that she had to apply added pressure to the brake pedal causing the brake pedal to extend to the floorboard before the vehicle glide to a stop. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the brake booster had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that customer satisfaction program: 13n02 had expired. The contact was advised to call the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 190,000.
Nhtsa recall number 13n02/ extended warranty coverage on brake booster.

Brake pedal will go all the way to floor. Very soft pedal. For over a year we have talked to the dealers around home. They all say Ford and Lincoln don’t have a problem. I talked to Lincoln concierge and she said if it became a safety issue to contact a dealer. It was still on the csp recall at the time. But I was told it expired. I paid to get the car worked on and had a pedal again. Now it’s back to the floor. Backing up a lot and putting on brakes doesn’t help this time. Now Ford says yes they had a problem but it expired a year ago. I don’t drive this car every day. It now has 70700 miles. It had 52000 when I bought it 3 years ago. But to me brakes are important. I had to stop quickly in traffic and stopped in the intersection and luckily didn’t have an accident. It should be repaired without cost to me. It is a very serious problem. I’m also calling ntsb with this information to see how many crashes that there has been.
The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, the brake pedal depressed and went to the floorboard. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact stated that the brake booster was repaired in August 2020 under a customer satisfaction program. The failure mileage was 70,740.
My brakes will go out for no reason. Also, my electrical system (dashboard) will freeze up for no apparent reason. I have taken it to the Ford dealership numerous times, but I was told neither was a recall issue and they could not help me unless it happened when they could actually "see" it happen. Yes. They said that.
I was driving my car and a car pulled in front of me I pressed a little harder on the brakes and after that the brakes went to the floor. I brought to my mechanic and he said that the seal on hydraulic brake was broken.
The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated while driving 15 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond until the brake pedal reached the floorboard. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to parks Lincoln of gainesville (3333 n main st, gainesville, FL 32609) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. The contact stated that the failure occured three times. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 74,000. The VIN was not available. ## VIN failed ## Lincoln Mkx 2011 ##.
Brake pedal goes to the floor with no stopping ability. Driving on city street.
While driving the vehicle and approaching a stop sign the vehicle just shut off on its own. I lost all engine power, brakes, and steering capabilities. , etc with no warning. Luckily no other vehicles were near me at the time. I was able to roll backwards in neutral to a somewhat safe location off the road. Several days after that it happened again. I was in a parking lot and had just started the vehicle and then it warned low oil pressure and then just shut off on its own. I checked the oil and it's not low. Oil level is perfect. After some quick online research I found many similar complaints from other Lincoln owners. Unexpected engine shut off while driving and with no warning. Scary and very unsafe to say the least. I contacted the dealership where I bought the vehicle and they said this is the first time they heard of this issue. Please advise. Thank you.
A valve sticks in the hydraulic control unit of the anti lock brake system when it is activated when heavy braking that created a very soft brake pedal when braking because brake fluid is being diverted thru the abs system when it shouldn't be. I noticed there was a safety recall on Ford, Lincoln's up to a 2010 model. There needs to be a recall on my model vehicle also.
The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated that at start-up of the vehicle, the brake pedal would intermittently depress to the floorboard without warning. Additionally, there was an abnormal high-pitched sound coming from the brake booster. The contact had initially taken the vehicle to the dealer where he was informed that no fault had been found with his brakes upon inspection. As the intermittent failure persisted, the contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where he was informed that the vehicle was placed under recall for the brake booster. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where he was informed that the vehicle no longer qualified for the 10 year/100,000-mile recall repair. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and referred him to the NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to apple Ford Lincoln of york (1801 whiteford rd, york, PA 17402) and the mechanic informed the contact that the hydraulic control unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 157,954.
Abs module dump value-my brakes can be very hard to stop and it's very uncomfortable. I'm concerned about my safety. I had new brakes and rotors put on all the way around and I'm still having issues. I have been informed that this is a common problem in the Lincoln/Ford. I have invested alot of money in this vehicle over time and it's becoming more and more frustrating that it continue to have issues.
The vehicle breaks keep going out. I just had to get the brake booster and another part fix that's connected with the brakes done in February and now in August the same thing is happening the vehicle will not stop own it's on unless you press the pedal all the way down and it still hard to stop. Driving the vehicle is very hard to do with the same problem happening.
When driving down a freeway the brake booster went out again after it had been replaced. When I tried to brake, the pedal went down to the floor without bringing the vehicle to a stop or even slowing it down. This nearly caused an accident. We called the dealership and they said since it had been replaced already it wasnt under warranty anymore.
The brake booster on my vehicle went out and it caused several near miss accidents where I felt like I wasn't going to be able to stop in time before we realized what was wrong. An extended warranty is not sufficient - needs to be recalled. I paid $900 to have this repair made because I was never notified of an extended warranty.
Takata recal my brakes make this hissing noise when I step on it and sometimes the car would not stop. The car would keep roller after a apply the brakes and sometimes the padal would not go all the way down so I have to use extra force trying to stop my vehicle. It dos it on turning on the high way or on a main street with a speed limit of thirty mills an hour. Im not driving my car right now because of that problem. I had my kid and wife in the vehicle with me when this happend and I was scared that I was gonna hit the other car so I had to swerve to the side of the high way to stop.
Loud grading noise front passage wheel.
Tried to tap the brakes to take the cruise control off and it wouldn't disengage. Tapped harder and then stomped on the brake to release it and stop from hitting the car in front of me. After that, it was very hard to make the brakes work. Took it a Ford dealer while it was still under warranty and they claimed they couldn't duplicate it. Finally took it to a Lincoln dealer after the 50k mile warranty expired and they made me pay for a new brake booster. Now the car won't start everytime because it says the brake isn't depressed, but of course, it was!.
The contact owns a 2011 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph and decelerating, the vehicle vibrated excessively. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was informed that the rotors needed to be replaced. Only the rear rotors were replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 17,000. The VIN was unavailable.
