I recently had some touch up work done on my car. While in I had an estimate done on my headlights because they constantly had condensation and moisture inside the light cover, this is at all times of the day and especially challenging in the winter months when there was ice frozen over. My body shop called the local dealer to get pricing on parts. Can provide the body shop and dealership if needed. When talking to the service department they informed my body shop that they had issues with the original install of these lights and the seals were compromised letting moisture in that could not easily leave. This explains why, not one, but both of my lights are doing the same thing and compromising my safety especially at night. They are only giving out partial light due to having heavy condensation or ice covering the internal side of the headlight. This is not an issue that would activate any warning lamps or messages just visual compromised.

The right headlight is filling up with condensation which is shorting out the battery. Replaced it more condensation is back in it. Mechanic says seals are no good says its a common problem in all Lincolns. Lights and adaptive module cost well over 5k for one light not including the labor. This is a potential for a fire hazard.

Condensation build up in my passenger headlamp has caused the led rope lighting to stop working. This shows a recall but one not offered at this time. I have never received any recalls through the mail form. I recently moved and my address is as follows: sharon kidd 12063 signal view rd,knoxville TN 37932.

The vehicle liftgate no longer properly latches and has opened suddenly. The interior audible warning sound continuously alerts and the interior lights sometimes fail to turn-off. The 'liftgate ajar' warning light remains on. This problem seems similar to the recall on 2011 Lincoln Mkx.

Driver door latch electrical component consistently thinks the door is ajar when in fact the door is closed. This sets the vehicle car alarm off when the vehicle is parked 2-4 times a day. Additionally, when driving the vehicle at night, all of the interior lights remain on as it thinks the door is open, causing night time driving very difficult. This is obviously a flaw in the design since the switch is built into the door latch.

Doors fail to latch, with several reports indicating that the door ajar warning light on the dash appeared and cabin lights stays on while driving and stays on after closing doors! the only way to turn them off is to unplug battery! this is the 3rd time that I have been repairing different doors latch and I am surprised why car safety recall has not been issued yet on these models. It's very expensive to repair and it's a causing a major safety issue when driving night time with cabin light on and ajar warning system is off!!!! please note that same issue occurs every year with more than one door (2014/2015/2016/2017).
2011 Lincoln Mkx - problem - intermittent "driver door ajar" warning shown on instrument cluster - cause dome lights to illuminate, and repeated door closing attempts to end "door a jar" warning. Warning happens when stationary and / or in motion, resulting in an unplanned stop. If diving with "door ajar" warning, doors will not stay locked, questioning if doors are really closed.
The dash light tells us the passenger door is ajar all the time (while driving and parked) and sometimes it shows the driver door is ajar when, in fact, the doors are shut. The dash lights and exterior rear view mirror lights stay lit a long time after the car is parked and the lights are turned off. The horn (alarm) will start honking in the middle of the night or when it sits in a parking lot for an hour or so after it is parked and we will have to find the keys to shut it off. Very annoying and embarrassing when sitting in church and this happens in the middle of a sermon or parked at a motel and the alarm goes off at 2 a. M. We have taken it to a mechanic and they ran a diagnostic test on the computer system and found nothing wrong. We are annoyed and angry and don't want to pay huge sums of money for them to keep running tests and telling us "nothing is wrong", when it is! how do we resolve this?.
Two of the doors show an unlocked alarm, even though the doors are fully closed. This prevents the doors from being locked, and the lights to remain on. I cannot set the car's alarm as it will set itself off.
When the door is closed, the door ajar light stays on and the doors never lock while driving. Also the door can be closed and the door ajar light will not be on but at any moment the door ajar light will come on causing the factory alarm to go off at any time, day or night. It has been to the dealership numerous times for this issue since 2013.
The driver side door ajar sensor is malfunctioning çausing the lights to remain on while driving. This problem has progressively gotten worse to the point the interior lights stay on all the time which is a driving hazard at night. This is a common problem with the Mkx as it is all over the internet. Ford has a bulletin out however will not cover cost of replacement.
Door ajar light stays on. The doors don't lock, dome light stays on, and the alarm goes off multiple times during the night. These things all cause multiple problems. At night with the dome light on it is distracting and lowers visibility. My battery has ran down multiple times.
The contact owns a 2016 Lincoln Mkx. The contact stated that the warning indicator illuminated to check the head lamp system and "see manual on the display" displayed on the message board. The vehicle was taken to the dealer twice, but they were unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. The dealer reprogrammed the hcm, but the warning indicator flashed several times again months later. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer a third time for further testing again and they later told the contact to pick up the vehicle. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified. The contact was waiting for a response from the manufacturer. The approximate failure mileage was 365.
