Car is moving at highway speed and suddenly shuts off completely and stops. Luckily car behind was able to stop avoiding a rear-end collision. My wife who was driving denies touching any shifting buttons on the dashboard. However, due to the location of the start/stop engine button it is very possible to touch the stop engine button if trying to adjust the radio or climate controls which are located adjacent to the stop/start engine control button. This is a design flaw! while you must depress the brake to start the car, all you need to do is brush the control button to stop everything while moving.

I'm not sure if this is considered a design flaw, but I do consider this a safety issue. While driving, I have reached over to press the button to turn on my radio and my car has turned off and I have to come/roll to a complete stop to restart the car. After this happened a few times, I realized I was pressing the button located next to the radio button. The button I was pressing was the start/stop button. Luckily I have done this while driving around my small town, but it would cause an accident if this happened on a 4-8 lane highway. In order to make sure this does not happen again, now I consciously look over before I turn on my radio which means I take my eyes off the road for a few seconds. I wish I could have been aware of this when I bought car to avoid this ever happening. I am providing a picture to show the setup of the buttons. This occurred after I purchased my vehicle in 2017, but I happened upon this website and felt this warranted a complaint.
My 2009 Mkx has scared the heck out of us as we thought a bomb had gone off, followed by the high-pitched whine which only stopped after we turned the car off and open a door for it to reset itself. We were driving with kids in the back asleep,, and all of a sudden it went off and we couldn't stand it. Turning the radio off didn't help, turning the ac off didn't help either. We were forced to pulled over in the middle of the night. Since then I can not trust my car won't go off and cause me to hit another car or god forbid something else. It usually happens in the hotter months for the last 3 - 4 years. I've tried to find correlation to something, and all I can think off is the heat causing it to go off.

Sync radio. Every once in a while, without warning, the radio will suddenly emit an extremely loud explosion noise, enough to startle you to jerk the wheel and leaving your ears ringing. This has happened to us three times since owning the vehicle. Once on a local highway and twice on the freeway. At all times was the vehicle being driven in a straight line. Research online shows many complaints as this appears is a common problem with the sync radio and Lincoln has no resolution. This is a safety issue that should be addressed.
Vehicle stopped receiving traffic info on navigation screen. All other data received via "sync" system from sirius operating correctly. Dealer replaced computer module they identified as controlling this function. No change in condition. Problem escalated to Ford tech people. A month ago, the radio functions failed. It required a system upgrade.
