Tl the contact owns a 2010 Lincoln Mkz. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v904000 (service brakes, hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not available. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, the contact rear ended another vehicle when he tried depressing the brake pedal and it failed until she pressed it all the way down. The contact refused medical attention and no police report was filed. The contact stated that this was the second collision involving the brake failure. The vehicle was taken to penske Lincoln (8850 grossmont blvd, la mesa, CA 91942) for the recall repair however, the dealer informed the contact that the parts were not available and she would be notified once parts were available to do the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was 124,000.
