4 Body problem of the 2015 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 07/24/2023

I have previously filed complaint on this vehicle with no satisfaction. I have a Lincoln 2015 Mkz. This vehicle has a low front end clearance which I believe to be a serious safety concern. The front bumper is only 7 1/2 inches off the ground. Most cars are at least 9 plus inches off the ground. This car can not traverse any type of graded driveway or access road. The front bumper constantly hits the ground which inevitably can and has caused damage to the vehicle. I. E. Damage to wheels, radiator, lights, engine not to mention the bumper itself. I have contacted Lincoln and they are indifferent to my complaint. This should have been rectified years ago but was ignored by Lincoln. The company probably should have provided all owners of record of a Lincoln Mkz with a factory authorized lift kit which could have raised the bumper at least 1 1/2 inches. I have contacted Lincoln several times but they ignore my complaints. I believe there should be a recall to rectify this problem. This is certainly a potentially dangerous situation. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

5 Body problem of the 2015 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 05/01/2023

I drove my 2015 Lincoln Mkz in to my driveway which is not steep grade and the front bumper hit the drive way and ripped the bumper. This car has very low front end. I called Lincoln up and complained about this low bumper problem. Lincoln customer service just blew me off. They acted like I was first person ever to complain. When I told them that you tube video has this problem listed they ignored me. This would not be a big deal if the bumper was 2 piece and all that had to be replaced was a bumper guard but the replacemrnt bumper covers the whole front end. Replacement bumper runs between $500 - $700. Labor to replace bumper runs from $500 - $1000 depending on shop. This is outrageous. Lincoln knew of this problem for years and did nothing to fix the problem. The least Lincoln should do is replace the bumper at no charge and provide me with discounted installation charge. What can I do? I covered the crack with tape so it would not spread but this looks terrible!.

9 Body problem of the 2013 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 03/07/2022

I took my Lincoln to a Ford dealership regarding water in my trunk. The technician said it was the factory wields off the assembly line that have failed. Lincoln said they would not cover the repair due to not enough complaints on model and car was over any warranties. I returned the vehicle to the same dealership to get the repair. I was told it was not the wields, but the trunk lid. I paid for a new trunk lid and new gaskets. The car continues to leak. I took it to an ase certified mechanic, and it was indeed the factory wields. The car has mold and mildew growing. The other dangers are the wields between the body and back pillars are failing.

Door latch, driver side, recall starts with the Mkz 2014 and up. I have a 2012 Mkz that needs the recall. Please lower the year to include the 2012 as the symptoms and problems are exactly the same. 15 Body problem of the 2008 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 06/26/2020

Our vehicle is subject to NHTSA recall 19v-904. In 2020, Lincoln stopped repairing vehicles subject to this recall. Unfortunately, my vehicle is suffering from this brake problem and I have lost use of my brakes on several occasions. On June 26, 2020, my brakes failed resulting in a property damage accident. After body damage repair, my brakes have again failed. The local Ford dealership finally agreed to examine the vehicle and found that the brake failure was related to the recall. Nevertheless, in addition to the thousands paid to repair mine and the other party's vehicle's damage, I've had to pay the local Ford dealership $1093. 80 to fix the car. The brake failure is dangerous and potentially deadly. Lincoln's delay in remedying the issue is the direct cause of my car accident.

16 Body problem of the 2011 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 05/01/2020

The door hatch is broken, , it is hard to shut and latch the door. The door although shut and latched has come open while the vehicle has being driven. This has occured several times. It is unsafe to drive this car.

17 Body problem of the 2013 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 04/04/2020

On April 4th, 2020. After leaving the freeway and making a brief stopped, a passenger exited the front left passenger sides door, and once the passenger reentered the vehicle, the door wouldn't close, latch, or lock. The passenger door will bounce back open after attempting to shut the door, the door remained unlocked and the latch wouldn't switch to the locked position which would lock the door in place. This is a huge safety and privacy risk, as we would have to drive holding manually holding the door shut, including while making turns, driving on the expressway, and while driving in various driving conditions. This is incredibly dangerous, especially in limited visibility, or during dangerous conditions such as snow, storms, and etc. . . This also posed a huge privacy risk, since the door remains open and unlocked without any way to securely close and lock the door, any individual can easily steal your vehicle by entering the unlocked and open passenger door side and hotwire the car. This also drains the battery since the car is trying to alert the owner that the passenger door remains open. To my dismay, this vehicle and year (2013 Lincoln Mkz) was involved in a recall in 2015 for the same exact reason, the dealership searched my VIN, and didn't find a recall on the vehicle. Ford and Lincoln refused to work with me on the price or anything, despite literally this same model having a recall for the same exact issue that the recalled 2013 Lincoln Mkz models had. The issue for the first recall was caused by a broken sprawl tab, which a local mechanic literally diagnosed. The issue literally happens while stationary, in motion, on a city street, and highway. This is incredibly infuriating and has caused a $460 price tag attached to the repairs for only one door, while the recall replaced all four for free!.

18 Body problem of the 2011 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 03/31/2020

When pulling out of driveway the front passenger door opened. Wasn't able to latch the door. I had to put a bungee cord to keep door from opening. The car isn't safe to drive. The vehicle will be towed to get repaired.

28 Body problem of the 2015 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 04/03/2019

Our vehicle is less than year old and have rust completely around edge of hood. Our warranty for corrosion ends in Nov 2019. . . . . But Lincoln/Ford has denied our claim due to no 'perforations' occurring --yet. . Since Lincoln/Ford used incompatable metals on the rim of their hoods. . . . Wouldn't this be considered mfg. Defect?. I know that this is not a safety issue but we would have never have invested $$$$ in this vehicle. We have been told by the dealer, that the hood will have to be replaced. . . . Then the two metals (one directly on the vehicle and the one around the seam of the hood) will be coated. We've been told that's the only way to solve this problem. We cannot resell vehicle or maybe even afford repairs since we are both retired. Ford must have realized the two imcompatable metals were the problem. Now it seems that they are playing word games. I need your help and expertise in solving this expensive problem. I know that this is not a safety issue but it gets me angry that I bought american and am getting treated in this matter. Thank you for your anticpated cooperation in this matter, I can be reached at---whatnownh@comcast. Net--- lillian m. Langlois s the only way to solve this problem.

29 Body problem of the 2013 Lincoln MKZ

Failure Date: 08/13/2018

Interior driver door handle no longer sits flush with body. Periodically the door does not shut properly . I noticed a recall on that part. When asked gridley Ford service (dwayne) he emphasized on your web posting it says certain vehicles and is not one of those . I asked that since it is displaying same problem addressed how is my car not covered. He pulled up a printout that shows my vehicle and the recall is not listed. I asked him if there is anyone he can call to advocate for my vehicle and he said he doesn't call anybody for that. I was told repair cost was $200. I left there confused and angry.

The driver door pops open when the car is in motion and has been doing this since I bought it 3 years ago in may. But apparently it isn't a recall.
