Structure Problems of Lincoln MKZ

2007 Lincoln Mkz. Consumer writes in regards to airbag safety recall. The consumer declined to have the airbag replaced due to the dealer damaging a decorative piece that would leave an open hole in the dashboard. The consumer opted to wait until the dealer located a replacement decorative piece, which had exceeded a reasonable amount of time. The manufacturer was notified.

The contact stated that the vent in the dashboard buckled and the dealer stated that they were unable to repair. The dealer informed the contact that she will have to replace the entire dash board. The manufacturer was not made aware of the problem. The contact stated that she took her vehicle into the Lincoln dealerships yesterday and they took pictures and stated that they were going to send then to the manufacturer. The approximate mileage at the time of failure was 120,000. . . . . Updated 08/05/14 the consumer stated the all four tire rims peeled and had to be replaced. The right and left door panel cracked. The contact owns a 2008 Lincoln Mkz. The contact stated that when driving the sunlight reflection combined with the contrast from the instrument control panel impaired his visibility. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and a technician added a black covering for the instrument panels surface. The failure mileage was 14,000. The current mileage was 19,000.
