2006 Navigator would keep misfiring even after coils were replaced. Dealer first reports it was a valve. After inspection valve was not the problem but a burnt head was the cause. Head went to outside shop for repair but the shop says now that the problem might be lower in the engine. A new engine is being suggested by the dealer but the warranty company may not pay. Car has 44000 miles currently.

#1 spark plug on 1999 Navigator blew out on rt 80 in PA 400 miles from my home. I had to rent a u-haul truck and trailer to tow my Navigator home at the cost of $600. I had to leave my race car and trailer in PA. I don't know how I am going to go get it. I have no tow vehicle.
The Lincoln dealership broke 5 of my 8 spark plugs while trying to change them. I was told that I have to pay since this has happened. This is a known problem with Ford engines. Please reference the following link. . Read more...

Spark plug explosion on cylinder #3 in my 1998 Ford 5. 4l v8.
The contact owns a 2006 Lincoln Navigator. While driving 50 mph, the vehicle crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The air bags deployed and flames were noticed under the hood. The vehicle exploded five times. The fire department extinguished the fire and the vehicle was towed. A police report was filed. The cause of the fire was undetermined. The driver of the other vehicle sustained injuries to her face. The current and failure mileages were 32,000.
My 2003 Lincoln Navigator ultimate @ 84,000 miles blew 2 spark plugs through the aluminum head of the 5. 4 liter triton engine. It is my understanding that this aluminum head has been redesigned by Ford and that there is also an after-market fix to this increasing problem that re-threads the spark plugs, but that said fix also gets forced through said inadequately engineered aluminum head. For refuses to pay for the replacement of said head and said repair is estimated in the thousands of dollars. I replaced the melted coil and barely was able to thread new plugs into place, but I am concerned about being stranded somewhere in my car. I think that Ford should have to recall all of these engines and replace the old heads with new, better engineered heads.

Used car purchased with new car warranty (36000 miles). Car inspected after purchase by Lincoln dealer, but 4000 miles later engine seized. Sludge was found to be in engine. No warning of engine shut-down prior to seizure. Ford denies warranty claim due to sludge in engine despite proof of vehicle being serviced by prior owner.

While parked the consumer's vehicle caught fire in the engine compartment.
I own a 1999 Lincoln Navigator (Ford engine 5. 4l dohc) only 52000 miles. The spark plug #4 blow out of the engine while driving on the highway. I've seen many of the Ford expedigion and Lincoln Navigator owners experience this same issue. There is obviously a default with there engine for these models and thus should be recalled.
Ford engines. Cylinder head defect on Ford and Lincoln trucks causing spark plugs to blow out, stripping the threads.
Consumer states accelerator pedal is sticking, causing vehicle to lose control. Dealer notified. Vehicle has unexpectedly accelerated and or stuck in passing gear over 12 times. On July 14, the failure occurred while in reverse. The remaining times in forward while approaching speeds of 90 to 95mph. The engine would continue to "rev" up for no reason. The consumer's only resolution to this problem is to put it in neutral and turn the key off and back on to control the steering and have brakes power to stop the vehicle. The transmission had started making a "clunking" noise when switching from neutral to either drive or reverse.
